Today I have a couple of cute cards I made for some upcoming birthdays. I thought it would be fun to use this file from An Afternoon at Auntie Elaine's SVG Collection (gumball machine file) and turn it into a shaker card. I had never done a shaker card before and thought it would be cool!
How cute did this card turn out?! I absolutely love it!
Can't wait to make some more shaker cards!!!
SO fun and interactive, I'm sure the kids will love it!
The file for this card comes from SVGCuts An Afternoon at Auntie Elaine's SVG Collection.
To create the shaker portion of the card, I used a foam layer that I cut using the Silhouette Cameo.
TIP: To cut foam I just set my speed to the lowest setting and my blade to the deepest setting and used a double cut. Worked really well but didn't cut all the way through. So I slowly pulled away from the foam shape around the cut lines and it tore really easily! Next time I think I will try doing another double cut without moving or unloading the mat.
For this card, before gluing together the back layer of the gumball machine I stamped it with a cute stamp from Craftin Desert Divas - Happy Celebrations
For this next card, I used buttons.
I always have way too many laying around, this was the perfect way to use some!
This time I stamped the card on the inside of the card and created a window by using two acetate sheet layers and sandwiching the foam in between them.
Hope you've enjoyed these super "sweet" gumball-shaped shaker cards!
