First Day of School Signs/ Props for Back to School Pictures

Hey Everyone!

Finally getting back into some crafting! Can't believe that the summer is almost over and my kiddies are headed back to school in a few short weeks. I know many schools have already started but I'm thankful for the late start this year :)

So today I want to share with you my latest Fleurette Bloom DT project.
First day of school signs I made for my kids. I will be using them to take photos of them when they head back to school. (I'll post those pics when they happen). They are super simple to make and put together!

Here is what you will need to make your own:

Fonts:
Chalk Hand Lettering
Return to Sender
Travelling Typewriter

SVG Files:
Apple and Pencil - from School Days Kit - files were grouped together and resized.
The apple was then added to the top of the sign and grouped on to the top circle layer of the tag file. Then both the finished circle (sign) and pencil were just print and cut using the Silhouette Cameo.
Tag file (from coffee mug) - from Valentine Be Mine SVG Kit - Enlarged and cut (bottom layer only).

Paper:
Recollections card stock for the Print and Cut.
The bottom layer paper comes from the Simple Stories - Smarty Pants Paper Pack.

To Assemble:
Glue top 3 layers of the sign together, I used my ATG tape runner for that.
Attach the top of the pencil to the bottom of the sign with some glue.
To the back of the pencil, I glued a Popsicle stick. This adds strength to the paper and something for the kids to hold on to. Add a ribbon to the handle and embellish as you like ;)

For those of you that are visual people like me,
here is a video that I filmed while putting one of the signs together. Enjoy and if you haven't yet subscribe! I'm going to try an film more future projects ;)

Hope this post isn't too late for you, and it inspires you to make some of your own back to school First day signs!

For a limited time, you can get the School Days collection AND the ABC and 123 digi paper pack FREE with a purchase of $8.98 or more at Fleurette Bloom! So get them while you can :)

DIY Custom Canvas Bags | Teacher Gifts

With the end of the school year quickly approaching, I thought I better get busy making some teacher appreciation gifts! The kids were very blessed to have amazing teachers once again this year. As a little thanks for all that they have done for my children, I always like to make something personal that will remind them of the kids. I hope they like them as much as I had fun making them!

This was my very first time creating something with the heat transfer material. I have to say I LOVE it! I want to create more with it! It was super easy!!!

Here is the front side of the bag, I'm not sure if I will ever get tired of seeing variations of this phrase... for now, I still love it! I think the teachers will too! Click here to see another project I made using the "Craft On" version.

To the other side of the bag, I added the teacher's name. Mrs. Archer and Mrs. Attema are awesome!

When they open look on the inside, they will see the kids' names... hopefully, when they see that, they will have only good memories of them... lol!

The next few pics are of my daughter's bag for her teacher.

Want to know how to make your own?

You will need...
Silhouette Machine and SDE software
Files (worm and apple) SVGCuts
Silhouette Heat Transfer Material
Canvas bag (Tulip - Grab & Tote)
Iron

  • First, create the image you want to be cut on the Silhouette... here is how I did it...
    • For the image I created, I used a Couture font. Wrote the out phrase and lined it up as pictured above.
    • Next, I worked with the apple and worm file to create a border around the images by grouping different layers together and using the offset and modify functions.
    • Once I was satisfied with the images, I resized them and positioned them next to the phrase, and made sure everything was lined up properly.
    • Group all your images together.

  • Now all that is left to do is follow the directions for the heat transfer material. Ensuring that you flip your image horizontally so that your image looks backward and setting blade depth is set correctly for the transfer material. I would advise you do a test cut first to make sure your settings are all correct. Iron on as directed.
That is it... it's that easy! Hope you've enjoyed this DIY tutorial and project, let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Thanks for stopping by!

SVG Paper Drum Treat Box Birthday Gift | SVGCuts

Happy Tuesday everyone!

We've been so crazy busy lately! Birthdays, events, work, school, soccer, and the weather is finally nice I need to get some yard work done. There just doesn't seem to be enough time... oh well, one thing at a time!

I wanted to share this with you all last week when I finished this but never had the chance to post it until today. So here is a drum I made for a very fun 5 years old. He, like his Daddy, love the drums, so I thought this would be perfect for him. Happy Birthday, Antonio, hope you had a fun-filled day!

The drum file comes from SVG cuts SANTA'S VISIT SVG KIT. I used black card stock for the drum base and embellished it with tin foil tape to give it the chrome look.

I laid out the tape on the silhouette mat and cut the foil with my Cameo.

For some texture, I ran the accent drum pieces through the Cuttlebug

Here is a closer look.

I hope you loved this little drum. It will make the perfect little gift for the drummer boy in your life!
