Spring Bloom Scene Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Friends!

It is finally starting to feel like Spring time here in Edmonton. Things are slowly starting to turn green, the trees are starting to bud and flowers are starting to pop up here and there. In my back yard we have the occasional wild bunny that scurries threw so this card is definitely a tribute to our little back yard critters featuring many new products from the Honey Bee Stamps Celebrate Release.

I won't go into all the details of the process, as this card involves simple techniques like die cutting, ink blending, and paper piecing, with a touch of stamping.

One of the joys of creating scene cards is adding those final touches to bring everything to life. From enamel dots on birdies' eyes to white gel pen details and glossy accents on the pink bunny nose.

And of course, I couldn't resist sprinkling the colors of the rainbow among the flowers.

Best Mom - Sea Turtle Ocean Theme Card | Picket Fence Studios

Hello friends, 

I am back again with an underwater-inspired Mother's Day Card featuring the latest Ocean Odyssey release from Picket Fence Studios. This card is perfect for moms who adore the ocean and dream of tropical getaways.

Essentials

Paper Inking Palette - 10x10

STAMPING

• Apply inks to watercolor paper to create a rainbow blend using pink, yellow, and blue ink.
• Once dry, prepare the surface with anti-static powder, stamp out the turtles from A Sea Turtle's Journey using VersaFine ONYX BLACK Ink, and heat set the images using clear embossing powder.
• Die cut using the Coordinating A Sea Turtle's Journey Dies.
• Set aside.

BACKGROUND

• Using the Ocean Green Paper Pouncers apply an ombre layer of ink from darkest to lightest on a cardstock panel. 
• These are the inks I used:
• Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad SEAFOAM 
  Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad SURF 
  Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pad OCEAN 
• Apply a layer of Sea Glass Blue Paper Glaze using the Ocean Waves Stencil.
• Once dry, mist the background with water and pick up spots with a paper towel.
• Trim and glue onto coordinating glitter cardstock background.

DIE CUTS

• Die cut the words "best" and "Mom" from the Dad/Mom the best word Die Set. Cut "best" from black glitter cardstock and "Mom" x3 from white cardstock.
• Apply an Ombre layer of ink to the Mom.
• Glue to the card front.
• Add foam dots to the back of the turtles and glue them in place. 

FINISHING TOUCHES

• To the turtles, I added white gel pen details. To their shells, I added a layer of glossy accents. While still wet, I sprinkled on some Prisma glitter and let them completely dry.
• Use the Tropical Breeze Sequin Mix to add color and glue a few on the background.
• Add an enamel dot to the eyes of the turtles.
• Not pictured... On the inside, stamp another sentiment from the Signature Quotes: The Sea using the Black Hybrid Ink Pad.
