I made it with one day to spare, phewww... now I can relax!
I am back today with the third and final card that I created for the the My Favorite Things 2017 Superstar Card Contest. This one will be entered into the Coloring Virtuoso Category, which for me I feel was my biggest challenge as I'm still figuring out how to color with using all my coloring supplies.
I love all things rainbow, so I started off with blending my background and then built my scene using a variety of images from some of my stamp sets. The idea I had was to make it look like these magical MFT cuties would be found at the end of the rainbow. Hopefully I was able to pull it off 😉
To create the clusters of my stamped images I had to do a ton of masking, lots of fussy cutting and paper piecing. I colored my images using Zig Clean Color Brushes and used prismacolor pencils for shading. Really hard to capture on a picture but there is also a lot of sparkle as I used wink of stella on many of the elements.
The Dragon is also popped onto an action wobbler, to add a little bit of interaction. On the bottom right you notice the girl is holding a string of flowers because I had a super hard time cutting the stamped string of flowers. So instead I thought it would be cute to add some flower sequins on twine. To the center of the flowers I added some nuvo yellow drops. All these little details took a long time but I am really happy with the colorful results!

I didn't have a banner die for my sentiment, so I just created one using my cutting board and scissors to cut out the tail. To make it look like the Corgi was holding the banner with his mouth, I pierced the spot right under his mouth fished the wire through and curled up the end.

This was definitely a challenge! Thank goodness I had a few days off from the hospital, or I don't think I would of been able to pull off all three cards! So much fussy cutting I think I may need bifocals now 😲 Well I'm off to clean my crafty mess now... till next time!
