Rainbow Northern Lights Card | Honey Bee Stamps

CARD RECIPE

Here is how this card came together.

• I began by ink-blending the rainbow using the Hill Stencil and rotating it to create the vertical waves. I then used black ink to darken the edges of the sky.
• To add more detail to the background, I splattered water to lift some of the ink and also splattered Bee Shimmery Liquid for extra sparkle. 
• I then used a Snow Stencil and added white paste and then also added white gel pen dots for more snow.
• To the bottom of the panel, I used the same Hill Stencil to add a layer of glimmer paste for the snowy hill.

• These darling stamps come from the Polar Pals Stamp set. I stamped the image out using Bee Creative Intense Black Ink and then colored them in with Copic markers. I then used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.
• I used foam dots to pop them up and added them to the background.
• I then stamped out the sentiments onto black paper using Bee Creative Brilliant White Ink Pad and heat setting it with white embossing powder. 
• To make the sentiment stand out a little more, rather than using foam I die-cut the coordinating die 3 times and stacked them together.

• Finally, I finished off the card by adding a little heart between the two critters and added a bunch of Aurora Borealis Gem Stickers to the sky.

A Rainbow Ho Ho Ho Holiday Card | Studio Katia Winter Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello and welcome to our hop for the Studio Katia Winter Release! If you have started hopping already you may have arrived from the Studio Katia Blog. Stay tuned for where to hop next and more details on how to enter the giveaway🎉

This Winter Release includes 6 stamp sets, 4 with coordinating dies, 3 standalone dies, 3 stencils, and 1 paper pad. 

My super simple non-traditional Christmas card features the new Playful Dots Stencil and the Ho Ho Ho Die.

CARD RECIPE

• Ink-blend the background using the Playful Dots Stencil. I used yellow, pink, and blue inks to create the rainbow blend.
• Leaving the stencil in place, add a layer of glimmer paste. Remove the stencil and wash it immediately as the glimmer paste can be hard to remove once dry. Set the background aside to dry.
• Die cut the Ho Ho Ho using one layer of Holographic paper, one black layer, and 3 white layers.
• Glue layers together starting with the holographic one on the bottom, followed by the black layer and white layers. Discard the shadow layers from the white and black layers (or used them on a different card). The black layer adds a little extra shadow and dimension.

Happy Holidays Floral Slimline Card | Make it Merry Release | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Friday Friends and Happy Release Day!

As you may already know I am a FAN of the Lovely Layers Die Collection and there are some new ones in this release that I just had to play with first! This card is all about the details and all the extras to take your cardmaking to the next level.

CARD RECIPE

• Die cut all the greenery and floral images.
• Lovely Layers: Poinsettia Dies
• Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery Dies
• Ink blend edges of petals and leaves, curl them for a realistic feel and add extra color to colored cardstock for extra depth and detail, assemble pieces using foam in between the layers.
• On a slimline card base glue a piece of pattern paper from the Make It Merry Paper Pad.

• Arrange the greenery to create a floral arrangement as you like and glue it to the card panel.
• Add glitter glue to the tips of flowers and greenery. I also added more sparkle by sprinkling on Prisma glitter while the glue was still wet.
• For even more sparkle add some gems. These ruby-colored ones come from the new Make It Merry Gem Stickers.

To finish this card, I used the new Foil Script: Holiday Hot Foil Plate and Dies done in BLACK Glimmer Foil. Not pictured is the sentiment I added inside from the new Home For The Holidays Stamp set.

Thankful Blooms Slimline Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my friends, and Happy Monday! 

Thought I would start off the week with a colorful creation. I've been wanting to play with the Beautiful Blooms Stamp set for a while and finally this weekend I did. 

Do you want to know a secret? Sometimes I get intimidated by coloring large images, especially when I don't have the time I need. So when I do I try to think of different ways to add color to them. Ink blending is definitely my favorite way of adding color images, and with a stencil, it makes things even easier! Love how this no-line coloring ink blended Slimline Friendship card turned out and hope you do too! 

CARD RECIPE

• Position the large floral stamp from the Beautiful Blooms in a full-size Misti.
• Using the Honey Bee No Line Ink, stamp the bottom half of a slimline panel until the image is visible enough to see the lines. Rotate the panel and repeat the image on the top side.

• Use the Beautiful Blooms Stencil to line up each layer with the stamped image and blend out the image using your favorite inks for blending.  My go-to inks are the Atelier inks from Inkon3. See the colors used in the supply list below.
• Once the ink blending was done, I then used a glue pen to add fine glitter to some of the floral details.
• To the center of the panel, I added the Thankful die-cut sentiment from the Bitty Buzzwords: Fall Dies.
• I then finished off the front by adding a few Aurora Borealis Gem Stickers for more sparkle.

• On the inside of the card, I completed the sentiment with a stamp from the Beautiful Blooms done in Bee Creative Intense Black Ink.
