Fairy Cottage featuring Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends | 3D paper Fairytale House | SVGCuts

Hello, my friends!

I am super excited to share with you all my latest SVG Cuts project. When Mary first released this kit I knew exactly how I was going to make it. I just needed the time to do it... finally I can show you what I have been up to the last few weeks! I know I have said this before, but I think this has to be one of my very favorite 3D projects!

So here is my take on the SVG Cuts Fairy Cottage. How cute is that?!?
I am SO in love with it... and the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friend Stamps are the perfect match for this piece!

Like some of my recent larger projects, this Fairy Cottage will be displayed on one of the Hospital Units I work on. I think the sentiments and the whole fairy theme is perfect for the patients at our hospital. Even if it is just to make someone smile, I have done my job and all the work was worth it!

So let me give you a tour of this little cottage...

As you can see I used a lot of different embossing folders, this adds a lot of interest and added detail to the cottage without a lot of work. I also thought it would be fun to continue the twig railing down the steps. I think that has to be one of my favorite touches! I loved how Mary added the spinners on her cottage and I happened to have the same ones in my stash, so I thought if I added a clock face it would look cool too!

The back of the fairy cottage has a large opening for plugging in a string of lights or as I did by adding a LED battery-powered pack. I chose to use a multicolored string that I had purchased around Christmas time. The different color of lights just makes the cottage look magical!

Along the bottom of the cottage, I added floral stamps that I colored and cut out from the same Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends Stamp set. To do that, I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink and my Spectrum Noir markers then used my Silhouette PixScan to do the trace and cut them out.

Also, to the perimeter of the cottage I used this grass file that comes from the FREE Design section, just welded the files together to create longer strips.

I stuck to plain colored card stock, simply because I have lots of supplies and find it difficult sometimes to coordinate patterned papers with projects this size.  I like to let patterned paper inspire the project rather than the other way around.

The only alteration I did to the original file of the house was to add some circle cutouts on the mushroom-like roof.  I think it would have looked good with the solid panels, but I guess this is how my mind thinks a fairy tail mushroom looks like ;)

To create the stain glass appearance I used my Spectrum Noir Markers and colored the velum sections of the window in various colors. I also added Wink of Stella for that extra sparkle to the window and all of the fairies' wings.

With white pigment ink and a Studio G Alphabet set, I stamped various "fairy" like sentiments on the steps and the rock. I thought of my patients going through their cancer treatments when I was doing this part and words that would motivate them to get through it.

For fun, I thought it would look cool to make the fairies look like they were flying around their house. I used some red wire and attached them with hot glue.

I thought the fairy holding this stamped phrase was the perfect finishing touch!

Well, thanks for stopping by! Let me know what you think of this project
:)

I hope you all enjoyed my take of the SVG Cuts Fairy Cottage featuring Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends. Hopefully, it has inspired you to create one for yourself or for someone else!

and like the Fairies said, "have a magical day!"

Halloween Bewitched Cabin | 3D Halloween Treat Box Decoration | SVGCuts

Hello, my crafty Friends!
It's been a while since I had taken on a bigger project. Sometimes all I need is an excuse to craft ;) My Excuse this time was that I needed something to display on one of the hospital units I work.

So here is what I created for them!
How cool is this Bewitched Cabin?!

Not only does this make a cool decoration piece, but it can also be used as a treat or gift box!

SVGCuts files,treatbox,#SVGCuts,Silhouette Cameo,Bewitched Cabin,work,ilovedoingallthingscrafty,3D,my mind's eye,Gift Box,Halloween,decoration,

For those of you that don't know I am a Nurse and have worked in Oncology for the past 18+ years. So recently I took my House of Haunts to work. Usually, it's displayed in my craft room all year long, but this year I thought it would be cool to take it to work and share it with all the staff, patients, and visitors on one of the Units. Here's a shout-out to Station 40 at the CCI! You would not believe the comments it has received and the amazement it gets when people find out it's made of paper and that it was done by someone that works there! There is no better reward than to see someone smile because of something you made :)

The only issue was that I also work on Station 30 and they were wondering why they didn't get one? The only logical solution I saw was to get busy creating a Halloween decoration for them! See Station 30, I love you guys too!

Welcome to my Bewitched Cabin! Muhahahaha!!!

The files for this amazing creation all come from SVGCuts!

Here are the kits I used:
Bats, Ghosts & Moon - Spooky Cuties SVG Collection
Other supplies used:
Pattern Paper - My Mind's Eye
Black cardstock - Recollections
Vellum
A string of indoor orange lights
Wooden dowel
Black twine
White, black, green Ink Pads
Hot Glue
Scotch Quick dry glue
Black rhinestones & enamel dot
Cotton ball
Precision Knife
Embossing folders
Crop a Dile Big Bite Punch
Sizzix Big Shot
Silhouette Cameo

Here is a closer look at the side of the house. Love the little vellum ghosts!

Here is the other side of the house.
To add the lights I used my crop-a-dile big bite punch to create some holes along the roofline of the house, and then pushed the lights through each hole.

Kind of difficult to see here, but on the bottom left corner of the house I created a flap using a sharp precision knife. I then fed the plug end of the string of lights through the opening to allow it to get plugged in. You could also skip the string of lights and just add some electric tea lights instead.

Below are a few iPhone pics I took at work yesterday, sorry not the greatest quality :(

Here is the Bewitched Cabin as it's now displayed on  Station 30 (with one of my co-worker's hiding behind it). She did pose for another picture afterward but it was really blurry! Thanks anyway Jill!

And, here is the House of Haunts, which was my 2013 creation for the SVG Cuts Halloween Challenge now displayed on Station 40.

Oh, and see the stacked pumpkins on the top right, I made those last year as one of my SVG Cuts DT projects and gave them to Kim, our Unit Clerk. She now proudly displays them on the Unit every Fall!

I love being able to share my work and inspire others. I hope this post has inspired you to share your work and creations with others as well! Take your beautiful creations out of your craft rooms and display them for others to enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Perpetual Paper Christmas Block Calendar | SVGCuts

Can you believe Christmas is almost here!?! WOW, how time just flies so quickly!

Today I want to share with you my latest SVG Cuts DT project, it's a perpetual Christmas Block Calendar! I have been wanting to create one of these for the longest time and so I finally did it using all different kinds of files from SVG Cuts. For the complete how-to's click HERE and check out the SVG Cuts Inspiration Page.

Christmas Gift,3D,SVG Cuts DT Project,#SVGCuts,Silhouette Cameo,Countdown Calender,decoration,Christmas Block Calender,ilovedoingallthingscrafty,
For those of you interested in winning all of these kits listed below, make sure you leave a "comment" and "like" on the SVG Cuts Facebook Fan Page where they shared this project! HURRY, it's for a limited time only! Good luck, that's a lot of kits!!!

The calendar part is actually quite simple to make... if you can assemble boxes you can make this piece. Once Christmas is done you can put the tree and presents away and use it for the rest of the year! Make other little miniature decorations for upcoming holidays, have fun, and be creative!

Hope you guys liked my take on a perpetual Block Calendar, if you make one please share it with us on the SVG Cuts Fan Page. We always love seeing the fan's different take on projects!

Thanks for stopping by!

3D Paper Snowy House Treat Box | SVGCuts

I finally got around to making the 3D Snowy house box from Winter's Chill SVG Kit, and I absolutely love how it turned out! How cute is that!?! I've had this file in my SVG stash forever, and I can't believe it took me this long to make it!!!

Christmas Gift,SVG Cuts files,treat box,#SVGCuts,Gift Box,luminary,decoration,Christmas Decor,3D Snowy House Box,ilovedoingallthingscrafty,

This little house is a gift in itself but it's also big enough to add some gifts or goodies. Add a tea light to the inside and watch it glow! Make a few more and you have the beginnings of a paper Christmas village!

To add a more Christmasy look to it, I added a wreathe to the front of the house from the latest Santa's Surprises SVG Kit and shrunk it down quite a bit. I love how festive the house looks!

Hope you like my take on this SVG Cuts 3D Snowy House Box, hopefully, will have some time to tackle the Mistletoe Manor soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
