Spring Bird "Birth"day Card

Very recently I discovered Miss Kate Cuttables through Facebook. For those of you that haven't heard of it yet the designer offers a wide range of SVGs and clipart illustrations. They are so adorable! She generously also offers a daily freebie as well on her websiteDefinitely worth a peek if you are into paper crafting!

Here is a quick card I made featuring one of her recent daily freebies - spring bird. The birdie's facial expression was too cute I couldn't resist... The first though that came to my mind was that it was watching its mother "drop" an egg... from you know where!!! Haha! Yes, I know... mind in the gutter, LOL! I thought it would make a great "birth"day card for a teenager!

The tag was created with the print feature in the Silhouette DSE. The font is called Kristen. And the paper was all scraps! All cut with Silhouette Cameo. The inside is stamped with a Studio G stamp that reads Happy Birthday! (sorry didn't take a pic of it)

Hope you liked this cute card, stay tuned for more... trying to make a bunch of cards to have on hand for upcoming Bdays!

3D Hot Air Balloon File Freebie!

Hello everybody! I'm am so excited to share with you today's post, especially with those of you that have the paper crafting bug! Remember my Hot Air Balloon I created last year? No?!? Click here to jog your memory!

Recently, I have a lot of interest on the request of this file. Thanks to a lovely lady that recently requested it and used it on her blog. Thanks Dawn from Dawns Designs that Delight! Check out her version of the balloon here!

Unfortunately for many electronic users out there this was not an SVG file, rather I had made it with the Sure Cuts A Lot software. Since receiving so much recent interest I thought I would share it with the rest of you die hard SVG lovers! Also, since I just celebrated 1 year that I started my blog last week, I thought this would be the perfect gift for all my followers! I also made the .studio file for Silhouette users. The files have been slightly modified and improved from the original SCAL file. I used the .studio file to create the balloon displayed below.

Here you see the balloon opened up... great for little treats! Would make the perfect summertime gift for someone special! This would also make a great table centrepiece for a birthday party or baby shower! Enlarge the pieces and  fill the bottom portion with some weights to keep it from being knocked over!

The paper I used come from DCWV The Kidlet Stack, all cut on the Silhouette  Cameo.

Embellish to your liking! Buttons, twine, ribbon, tape... whatever you like... it's hard to go wrong! I love the little Flair button I used here "be happy" from Paper Play Studio. Too cute!

Hope I've inspired you all to create your own. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

DIY Desk Organizer

I love quick and easy projects! For today's post I want to share the with you all the coolest stationary desktop organizer!

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, isn't it WILD! Love leopard print don't you?!!!

I was so excited when I found this printed duct tape at the Dollar Store. I couldn't believe it! I picked up the last leopard print roll!

Duct tape
Empty tin cans
Hot Glue Gun
Velcro dots

This project is so easy I really don't think it needs much explanation. I used two strips of duct tape on each can, aligning the edge of the the tape to the top and the bottom edges on the can. This left a gap right in the centre on the can. Perfect and the exact size I needed for the ribbon I used. I finished each can by hot gluing ribbon to the tops and bottoms of the cans. Once all the cans were finished I secured them all together with another ribbon.

For the top tuna can I did the same, but then used some Velcro dots to secure to the top centre of the of the other cans.

Hope this inspires you to create and organize your own desk using some recycled cans and cool print duct tape!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love Grows Card

Happy Valentine's Day Everybody!

Hope you are all are showered with love today! Speaking of love, I wanted to share with you a quick card I made for my hubby! Isn't so it pretty?! LOVE it :)

The design comes from the Silhouette Online Store and it's the FREE shape of the week, this week! Yes,  free I said, this week only! Wow, that sounded like an infomercial, lol!

I cut a few extra hearts out and scored them down the centre and glued them onto another heart to give the card some dimension.

Paper from Recollections
Cut with the Silhouette Cameo

Thanks for coming by... XOXO :)

Valentine's Day Classroom Treats

I almost completely overlooked it, but I just realized last night that a year ago today I started this whole blogging journey! Wow can't believe it a year has already gone by... Happy Blog Anniversary to me, lol!

Today I want to share with you the Valentine's Day treats I made for the kids classmates and teachers. Mailboxes to fill with goodies for the Teachers and a little treat for the kids!

For the pink version of the Mailbox I made for my daughter's Teacher, here are the ingredients I used...

The file comes from SVG Cuts For My Valentine SVG Kit I love this file... so easy to put together! Cut with the Silhouette Cameo. Paper is from DCWV Garden Party Stack. Stamps are alphabet letters Studio G. The Flair Button comes from Paper Play Studio... these awesome little beauties are made by SVG Cuts designer, one and only Tamara!

For the kiddies in the class I made a tag for a roll of bubble gum the says "you Blow me away!" That saying comes from Lettering Delights Love Pets Svg Collection.

Here is my blue version of the Mailbox for my son's Teacher.  Same files, same treats, only difference is this paper collection comes from DCWV's Gilded Orchard Stack, and I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool (Round 25) to create the gold button on the lid!

Thanks for coming by today! Hope you like my treat ideas and maybe even inspired to make your own!
Have a great Valentine week!

Ombré Princess Cake

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

This post was pre scheduled... right now I should be enjoying the fabulous birthday party for a very special little princess named Annabella!  Today she is 5. Her mom, a very good friend of ours asked if I would make her a birthday cake... I knew exactly what I was going to make. Since she planning a princess theme, I thought an ombré cake would be perfect for the occasion. For those of you that haven't heard this term, it means having colours or tones that shade into each other.

So what do you think? Isn't it fabulous?!? I LOVE how it turned out. SO happy, hope the birthday girl loves it as much as I do!

Very Girly! The tiara on top is the perfect keepsake for the birthday girl!
Happy Birthday Annabella!

The cake is about 10 inches high and 7 inches wide. The top layers are butter pecan and the bottom layers  are chocolate cake. All covered with a vanilla butter cream icing and finished with fondant.  To get the ombré look I started with six equal pieces of white fondant and kept adding more pink to each layer, then gradually introducing more and more purple.

Thanks for stopping by, I have a feeling this won't be my last ombré cake!

Have a great weekend :)

Happy Friday Everyone!

I was asked a few weeks ago to make some 3D letters as Shower gift. Have been so busy that I wasn't sure I would have time to make them... but I finally did! Phewww, just in time for the Shower this weekend!!!

So happy with how they turned out! Love the colours they scheme they chose for me to work with!
Welcome to the world baby Lowen!

Here are some closeups of the establishments I used on the letters.

The files for the 3D letters come from here. The paper I used come from Recollections open card stock from Micheals, all cut with the Cameo.

Hope you liked this project!
