Celebrating Pride: Trio of Joyful Cards for Special Occasions | Honey Bee Stamps

Just imagine if the rings of a tree were actually rainbow-colored, how beautiful and colorful this world would be! Then again, trees would be even more endangered than they already are because we would all be chopping them down😆

Inclusive celebrations are always worth cherishing, and what better way to express your love and support than through heartfelt cards? Today I bring you a delightful trio of pride-inspired cards to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, and the arrival of a precious little one. These cards not only celebrate milestones but also promote a message of inclusivity, love, and acceptance.

CARD RECIPE

I will explain how I made one of these cards as the rest were done similarly. 

Using the Lovely Layers Slice and Stump Die, cut out your tree rounds. For a touch of pride, color the tree rings with vibrant rainbow hues using KARIN BRUSHMARKER PRO markers. To make the rings pop even more I used a distress brayer and rolled black ink over each die and then carefully placed the painted stumps back into their mold to press the black line impressions back into the stumps. This adds depth and dimension to them. I then glued them to a black bark layer. The leaves I used come from the  Lovely Layers: Dogwood Dies adding a cheerful element to the card. 

To complete this card I added a sentiment from the Inside Snarky Birthday Sentiment Stamp set stamped and heat embossed in white, then die cut with the coordinating die. This whimsical heart comes from the Heart Hug Die set, topped with a sparkly gem from the Aurora Borealis Gem Stickers. The background for each of these cards, (although it is difficult to see from these pictures) is full of texture that comes from using the Woodgrain 3D embossing folder.

For the Anniversary card of the Trio, I used two of the stumps and made them look like a little couple. This time my sentiment for the card came from the Mini Messages Stamps and Dies.

For comparison, I initially tried outlining the rings with a fine-tip black pen which was a bit time-consuming but the results are definitely darker. But using the brayer was super easy especially when making multiples.

This final card is for a family, welcoming their little one. Here again, the sentiment comes from the Mini Messages Stamps and Dies.

Even though these are just colorful stumps, I think turned out to be so sweet.

Happy Bee-Day Action Wobbles Card | Studio Katia

Greetings, dear friends!

I am thrilled to be back today, eager to share with you this delightful birthday card adorned with timeless Studio Katia treasures. It's truly the perfect card for celebrating a Spring or Summer birthday!

CARD RECIPE

 Let me guide you through the steps of creating this charming masterpiece:

1. Begin by stamping the pretty daisies onto watercolor paper using Versafine ink. Take care to heat set each bunch before proceeding to stamp the remaining elements. To create a captivating focal point, skillfully mask the middle daisy by die-cutting the coordinating die and then proceed to stamp the sides.

2. Bring the background to life by infusing it with vibrant colors. I opted for the efficiency of Karin Brush Pro markers, allowing for quick and beautiful watercoloring.

3. Next, die-cut the background using the Scallops Heart Cover.

4. Stamp the sentiments from the Honey Bees Set using white ink, and heat set them. Using the Scallops Heart Cover once more to meticulously die-cut the edges of the sentiment strip, gluing it onto the background.

5. For a delightful touch of sparkle, apply glue to the centers of the flowers, followed by a generous sprinkling of Chunky Glitter.

6. Elevate the card panel by affixing it to the card base with the help of foam tape, giving it dimension and depth.

7. For an adorable bee, stamp one from the Honey Bees Set, heat-setting it, and coloring it. Bring this tiny marvel to life by expertly die-cutting it using the coordinating die.

8. Attach a mini action wobbler to the back of the bee and secure it to the card. Witness how this daring little bee springs into action, breathing life and interactivity into your creation.

Isn't this little bee simply irresistible? The addition of the action wobbler elevates this card to a whole new level, delighting the recipient with its playful charm.

You're Amazing Rainbow Forest Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Welcome back, crafty friends! 

In honor of Pride Month, I am combining two great things— my love of all things rainbow and acts of kindness in support of our LGBTQ+ friends—to create a vibrant and heartwarming card. Our world more than ever needs more love and less hate. 

CARD RECIPE

Begin by selecting a piece of sturdy cardstock in a size suitable for your card base. I used Canson Watercolor paper for this 5x7 Card. Apply a rainbow spectrum of Distress Oxide Inks onto the paper panel. Start with the lightest color and gradually work your way across to the darkest color. (See links below for colors used).

Using a distress brayer apply black ink to the raised side of the Into The Woods 3D Embossing Folder.

Place the cardstock inside the embossing folder and run it through your die-cutting machine, following the manufacturer's instructions. This will create a beautiful raised rainbow pattern on your cardstock with a dark background to contrast the colors. Trim the panel and add it to a 5x7 Card Base. I used a piece of craft foam to slightly pop it off the card base.

On black cardstock, stamp the sentiment "Just wanted to say" from the Mini Messages Stamps and the You're Amazing" from the Big Time Kindness Stamp set using Bee Creative Brilliant White Pigment Ink and heat setting them in white Emb. Powder. Use coordinating dies from sets to die and cut them out and glue them to the center of the card panel.

For a touch of sparkle, I added glue to the tree lines and then sprinkled it with some glitter while the glue was still wet.

And there you have it—a stunning, rainbow-inspired card bursting with love and kindness! This Pride Month, celebrate diversity and spread joy by creating your own handmade cards.
