Butterfly Rainbow Shaker Card | Picket Fence Studios

I don't know about you but I am ready for Spring. I'm tired of the cold and can't wait for the rain, rainbows, and all the joys that Spring brings. Just take a look at the colorful butterfly card I'm sharing today—it says it all!

CARD RECIPE

Butterflies - Wreath-building butterfly wings

Frame - A2 rectangles for card layering set

Black Ink - Black Hybrid Ink Pad

To start, I trimmed the shaker panel using one of the frames from the A2 rectangles for card layering set. Then to ensure that there would be absolutely no movement when stamping, I inserted the Paper Inking Palette - 5x6 into my Misti. For it to fit nicely, I did trim off a little edge around the palette. I then added the panel to the ink palette, it should stick nicely to the palette without the use of magnets or tape. Next, I used a circle die to plan out the butterfly ring. I placed all of the butterfly stamps on the top half of the circle die to form an semi-circle, I then picked up the stamps with the lid of the Misti and removed the die in preparation for stamping.

Using the Pint-sized Paper Pouncers I began transferring the ink to each butterfly by pouncing ink onto the stamps creating gradient colors of the rainbow, and stamping the images one at a time. Wiping the ink off if necessary from the stamps if I didn't want the colors to blend. Once I was done stamping the top semi-circle, I cleaned off all the stamps and rotated the panel to continue stamping the rest of the rainbow circle.

Now that the rainbow butterflies were complete, I then stamped out the sentiment using Black Hybrid Ink Pad. I then created a shaker pocket using the Shaker Sheets that I wrapped around the panel. Before securing the last flap I added the Iridescent Moonshine Sequin Mix. To the back of the panel, I added a foam backing adhesive. Finally, I glued the shaker panel to a card base that I had blended out rainbow ink to the edges.

Waffle Flower 2023 October Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello Friends!

I am super excited to be joining Waffle Flower for this month's October Release! Today I have three cards to share and I hope you and hope you will enjoy them. This first card features the Pop-Up Leaves Panel Die and the Coordinating Stencil. The stencil makes for the easiest ink blending of these Fall colors, and I love the subtle dimension you get from pinching the leaves together.

Using a different color behind the die-cut panel also adds more dimension to the card. To finish this simple Fall card I used the Script Thank You Die, done in Glitter Gold cardstock with the white shadow background.

Next, I have this fun Fall theme Postage Card featuring the newest additions to the collection.

• Postage Collage Die (Not new)

On the Kraft background, I stamped in watermark ink, the new Multiple Fall Leaves Stamp Set. I also added a couple of die cuts from the new Dainty Fern Die set as an added detail.

For this last card, I used the Multiple Fall Leaves Stamp Set, which I heat embossed in gold, and then used the coordinating Multiple Fall Leaves Stencil to ink blend the warm colors. Once all the ink and added splatters were dry I die-cut the leaves with the Multiple Fall Leaves Die Set. This little trio is so versatile and a great value for the price point!

For the subtle background, I used the Woodgrain Die. This Die would also make a great window for a shaker card (next time). And to finish this beauty off I used the Print Thank You Die.

Lovely Layers Floral Card Set | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well. I have been away this past week so I apologize if you noticed my absence. I went to the mountains for a little getaway ski trip with the family for Spring Break, and I am happy to report no injuries! Yay for small victories🙌

So let's get on with today's post, cause it is a long one. It is no surprise that I love the Lovely Layers Collection from Honey Bee Stamps. I have used them in many previous projects and even made art pieces with them.

Today I wanted to share with you a card set I made using most of the collection. I kept the cards fairly simple. For all of these cards, I used a 5x7 Ivory Card base.

CARD RECIPE

This first card features the Lovely Layers: Hydrangea. I added purple ink blending in the centers of the flowers and then finished the centers with some green gem stickers. To add dimension, I used a tone of foam tape!

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Fall stamp set. All the sentiments were stamped out using Intense Black Ink.

This next card features a couple of die sets from the latest release. The dragonfly from the Lovely Layers: Bugs | Honey Cuts set and the Lovely Layers: Greenery | Honey Cuts. 

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Bloom Stamps. For the dragonfly wings I used vellum, for the body I used a piece of foiled cardstock, and to add a little sparkle I added a few gem stickers to the eyes. 

This Lovely Layers: Coneflower is one of my favorites from the collection. To give it a stem, I just sliced a thin strip of green cardstock. To add depth to the flower I used two different shades of red for the flower petals and then added some ink blending as well for shading.

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set and to finish I added a few brown pearls from the Warm Pearls Stickers set.

Sunflowers are another favorite of mine. I've used this Lovely Layers: Sunflower Die many times! For this flower, I also created a stem by slicing a piece of green cardstock.

The thank-you sentiment comes from another Itty Bitty set, the Bitty Buzzwords stamp set. To the center, I added a few more warm sticker pearls.

This next card pairs the butterfly from the Lovely Layers: Bugs dies with Lovely Layers: Anemone Dies.

The Hello You comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set. To add some interest to the center of the Anemone, I drew some lines from the center and added some small Bubble Bath Mini Domes.

This Lovely Layers: Tulips die is another one of my favorites, perfect for so many Springtime occasions or just a birthday card as shown here.

The birthday stamp comes from the Bitty Buzzwords Stamp set.

This next card I made with Mother's Day in mind. But it definitely could be used for many other occasions. This card features the Lovely Layers: Roses die cuts. If you want to see this rose done in rainbow colors click 👉here.

The I love you comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set.

And finally, this last card was made... you guessed it... for Easter. Lilies have always reminded me of Easter so I thought I would pair the Lovely Layers: Easter Lily Dies with a couple wood planks from the Wood Frame Builder die set to create a cross.

This beautifully scripted stamp comes from the Praying Big Time stamp set.

I love that these cards look like little pieces of art. How pretty would these cards look framed!? Who knows I may still end up doing that with them if I don't give them away first.

Anyways, I hope you were inspired by my Lovely Layers Floral Card Set. Sometimes the simpler the card is the better.
