Weighted Spinner Hamster Wheel Card | Honey Bee Stamps

A handmade interactive greeting card featuring a spinning hamster wheel. The card showcases die-cut elements from Honey Bee Stamps, including a layered hamster and hamster house. The wheel, made with acetate for a transparent effect, is attached to a spinning mechanism that allows it to move. The card is decorated with gem stickers and includes a fun sentiment that reads, 'Anyone can be cool, awesome takes practice!

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m excited to share an adorable interactive card featuring the Lovely Layers: Hamster House Dies, the Lovely Layers: Hamster, and a fun sentiment from the You’ve Got a Friend Stamp Set—all part of Honey Bee Stamps’ brand-new Pet-tastic Release!

This card is extra special because it has a spinning hamster wheel, bringing a playful, interactive element to the design. I used the Sweet Stacks: Circles to create the spinning mechanism and a clever trick to add weight, ensuring the wheel returns to its neutral position when not in motion. Want to watch this card come together? Check out my Reels HERE

CARD RECIPE
Lovely Layers: Hamster (Honey Bee Stamps)
Sweet Stacks: Circles Dies (Honey Bee Stamps)
Simply Spring Sticker Set (Honey Bee Stamps)
Cardstock (white and assorted colors for die-cut elements)
Acetate (for transparent wheel effect)
Foam dots/foam tape
Button (for spinner mechanism)
Dime (for added weight)
Black pen (for splatter effect)
Ink (for sentiment)
Glue or strong adhesive

The card is decorated with gem stickers and includes a fun sentiment that reads, 'Anyone can be cool, awesome takes practice!

Creating the Spinning Mechanism

To achieve this fun effect, I followed these steps:

  • Die-cut the front panel – I cut a circle in the top layer of the card using the Sweet Stacks: Circles Dies.
  • Die-cut and assemble the hamster and wheel – I used the Lovely Layers: Hamster and Lovely Layers: Hamster House Dies to piece together the adorable hamster and its wheel.
  • Make the wheel transparent – To add a realistic effect, I used Acetate as the top layer of the wheel. Since the glue dries clear, it remains unnoticeable.
  • Build the spinner base – glue a button to a larger circle, set aside to dry. This will be used in the next step.
  • Layer the card front – Add foam tape behind the front panel, and place the button layer behind the opening so it peeks through the die cut circle opening. Glue to the card base. The foam layer will allow for smooth movement.
  • Balance the movement – To help the wheel return to its neutral position after spinning, I glued a dime to the bottom of the hamster wheel, adding just enough weight.
  • Attach the wheel – Add a foam dot to the top of the button and then attach the hamster wheel on top, slightly elevating it.
  • Adjust the spin – If you want less movement, use a button slightly smaller than the opening. To allow freer spinning, add foam behind the front panel for elevation.

Quacktastic Wheel Spinner Card | Picket Fence Studios

Quacktastic Wheel Spinner Card, Picket Fence Studios, February Release, Interactive Card, Spinner Card, Handmade Card, Stamping, Die Cutting, Ink Blending, Cardmaking, Crafting, DIY Cards, Duck Stamps

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I am thrilled to share a super fun interactive card featuring the February release from Picket Fence Studios. This Quacktastic Wheel Spinner Card brings an extra touch of whimsy with adorable ducklings that spin around a central sentiment.

For a detailed guide on how I stamp multiple images efficiently, be sure to check out my previous blog post: Lucky Ducky Greetings with Picket Fence Studios. I used the leftover stamped images from that project to create this one! To watch this card in action head on over to my Instagram Reels for the latest video.

CARD RECIPE

2.5" Connected Circles Shaker Creator Die - To create rings for the Spinner wheel

Creating the Spinner Wheel
  • Blending the Background – Using the Scene Building A2 Stencil Set, I blended out the background to create a soft sky effect with fluffy clouds and grassy fields using Distress Oxide Inks.
  • Marking the Center – I used a T-Square Ruler to find the center of my card, ensuring smooth spinning action.
  • Adding the Button – The button acts as the pivot point where the rings spin. Use a small circle die (slightly bigger than the button) to die-cut the opening. Glue the background to the card base. Then glue the button to the opening, and set aside to dry completely.
  • Cutting the Circles & Rings – I die-cut two rings using the same smaller circle die from the previous step and a couple of large circle dies, the 2.0" and the 2.5" Connected Circles Shaker Creator Die. The larger ring is what the Duckies are Glued to and the smaller ring is to elevate the spinner mechanism. In hindsight, they could have been the same size.

  • Layering the Ducklings – Once I glued the Duckies to the larger ring, I then die-cut and adhered a blank coordinating die behind each duck to add strength and rigidity. This helps them spin smoothly without bending.
  • Assembling the Spinner – Glue the smaller ring behind the duck layer to lift the spinner mechanism, allowing for a seamless rotation. Place the spinner opening over the button.
  • Hiding the Button – To cover the center button, I die-cut a final circle, decorated it with stamped elements, and added the sentiment, "You Are Quacktastic" and glued it to the button.

Inside the card, I stamped the phrase "Have a Lucky Ducky Birthday" to complement the cheerful front. This makes for a delightful interactive birthday card that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face!

Interactive Roulette Wheel Card | Honey Bee Stamps

A handmade interactive birthday card featuring a roulette wheel with a spinning pearl ball inside a clear window. The card has a white background with elegant black script reading “Happy Birthday” and a humorous sentiment below that says, “This may be the year to start lying about your age.” The roulette wheel is crafted with gold, green, red, and brown cardstock for a realistic casino-inspired look.

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing a super fun interactive roulette wheel card that’s perfect for birthdays or good luck wishes. The best part? The tiny roulette ball spins inside the window—adding a touch of Vegas-style excitement! 🎲💰 Want to watch this magical card come to life? Click HERE for my latest Instagram Reel!

CARD RECIPE

Lovely Layers: Roll The Dice - Honey Cuts - Roulette Wheel

Aces 3D Embossing Folder - Background Panel

So Lucky Stamp Set - Sentiment

So Lucky - Honey Cuts -  Sentiment Die

Sweet Stack Circle Dies - Window opening and stacked rings for Roulette Wheel

Cool Pearls Stickers - Roulette Ball

Inside: Birthday Sentiments Stamps - Inside greetings

Bee Creative Intense Black Ink - Ink

Other Supplies:

Gold Gel Pen

Foam Tape/Sheet

Acetate

Glue

Create the Background
  • Use a blank card panel and place it over the card base front.
  • Find a circle die larger than the Roulette Wheel and die-cut through both the front panel and the top layer of the card base to create a window.
  • Emboss the top panel using the Aces 3D Embossing Folder for a fun, casino-inspired texture.
  • Glue the embossed layer to the card base. This ensures that the opening aligns perfectly.
Assemble the Roulette Wheel
Make It Interactive
Create the Stacked Rings
  • Use the Sweet Stack Circle Dies to cut rings of white cardstock and one gold ring for the top layer. I cut 6 and then realized they were not enough to allow the ball to spin freely. I then used a craft foam sheet to create another ring for the deep frame.
  • Adhere a piece of acetate to the opening to create a see-through interactive space.
  • Add the gold ring on top to finish the look.
Create the Roulette Ball

  • Take two white, Cool Pearls Stickers, remove their adhesive, and glue them together to make a round pearl. (The smaller the pearls the less height you will require for the frame.)
  • Before sealing, place the pearl ball inside the roulette wheel and test the movement. This ensures the ball rolls properly inside the window.
  • Once the ball spins freely, glue the entire assembled roulette wheel onto the opening of the front panel of the card.

The card has a white background with elegant black script reading “Happy Birthday” and a humorous sentiment below that says, “This may be the year to start lying about your age.” The roulette wheel is crafted with gold, green, red, and brown cardstock for a realistic casino-inspired look.

Add the Sentiments

The card has an embossed white background with a casino-themed texture, including playing card suits and dice. The sentiment on the front reads, “You’re my good luck charm!” in a stylish script font. The roulette wheel is intricately crafted with metallic gold, green, red, and brown cardstock for an authentic design.

This interactive roulette wheel card is a guaranteed winner! Whether you're crafting for a birthday or sending some lucky vibes, the spinning pearl ball makes this card extra special. Try it out, and let me know what you think!

Reindeer New Year Card with Bokeh Design | Honey Bee Stamps

Handmade New Year card with bokeh background, die-cut reindeer, layered greenery, 'Happy' sentiment, '2025' numbers, pearl accents, glitter details, and a scalloped frame design. Honey Bee Stamps

Hello crafty friends! Can you believe it, 2024 is coming to an end? Where did the time go!?

Today I’m excited to share a festive New Year card featuring adorable Honey Bee Stamps products. If you’re looking for inspiration to create a card that shines and spreads cheer, this design combines layered die cuts, a glowing bokeh background, and elegant embellishments.

CARD RECIPE

1. Creating the Bokeh Background
To start, I created a stencil template using the Sweet Stacks: Circles - Honey Cuts. With my template in place, I blended white and silver pigment inks onto a dark cardstock background using my Blender Brushes. This created a soft and glowing bokeh light effect that adds depth and magic.

Handmade New Year card with bokeh background, die-cut reindeer, layered greenery, 'Happy' sentiment, '2025' numbers, pearl accents, glitter details, and a scalloped frame design. Honey Bee Stamps

2. Die Cutting the Frame and Focal Elements
I then die cut the elegant scalloped frame using the Lovely Layouts: Party Frames - Honey Cuts. For the centerpiece, I die cut the Vintage Reindeer in layers and pieced it together, bringing this cute character to life.

I added festive greenery using the Mini Holiday Florals dies, which I enhanced with Prisma Glitter for an icy sparkle.

3. Assembling the Sentiments
For the “Happy” sentiment and the year “2025,” I used Great Greetings: Holiday and Bee Narrow Uppercase Alpha dies. To add dimension, I die cut two additional black layers for each element, stacked them together, and adhered them to the card. This extra layering really makes the sentiments pop!

4. Finishing Touches
For sparkle and shine:
I brushed glue onto the fern-like greenery and sprinkled it with Prisma Glitter.
I added Cool Pearl Stickers for a touch of dimension and elegance.
To complete the reindeer’s adorable look, I added Glossy Accents to the nose and eye for a shiny finish.

I hope you’re inspired to create your own version of this card. If you do, I’d love to see what you make—be sure to tag me and share your projects. Let’s ring in the new year with creativity and sparkle!

Happy crafting and Happy New Year!

Cozy Christmas Window Scene Bridge Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Handmade Christmas card featuring a cozy winter window scene, created with Honey Bee Stamps Cozy Christmas release products. The card has a 3D bridge design with an arched window decorated with poinsettias, holly, and icicles, along with a Christmas tree inside adorned with red pearl stickers as ornaments. A white brick embossed background enhances the cozy look, with a glittery snow effect on the roof. The sentiment reads 'Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night' in festive red script.

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m excited to share a special Christmas card featuring some beautiful new products from Honey Bee Stamps’ Cozy Christmas release. Inspired by Jennifer McGuire, I created this dimensional bridge card with a cozy winter window scene, perfect for spreading holiday cheer.

And there’s more exciting news! This card is part of an Instagram hop with two $50 gift cards up for grabs! Head over to my Instagram page to hop along and enter for a chance to win.

SUPPLIES

  • Lovely Layers: Window - Honey Cuts (Window and Balcony)
  • Lovely Layers: Window Holiday Add-On - Honey Cuts (Christmas Details)
  • Wonder Of Christmas Stamp Set (Sentiment)
  • Wonder Of Christmas - Honey Cuts (Sentiment Dies)
  • Wood Planks - 3D Embossing Folder (Embossed Background Details)
  • Gingerbread - Pearl Stickers (Christmas Balls)
  • Fine Prisma Glitter and Chunky Glitter (for the snowy details)
  • Inks - Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Inks (ink blending), Picked Raspberry Distress Ink (sentiment)
  • Dimension - Glossy Accents (balls) Foam Dots (elevate window)
  • How to Create This Card

    Creating the Bridge Card Base
To start, I cut a piece of cardstock to 5.5 x 5.5 inches for the card base. I then scored each side at the 1-inch mark and again at 1.75 inches on each side. This scoring creates the bridge card structure, which stands up beautifully and folds flat for easy mailing. After folding along the score lines, I set it aside while preparing the other elements.

    Embossed Background Panel
I wanted the background to resemble the outside of a cozy, snow-covered house, so I used the Wood Planks - 3D Embossing Folder to add woodgrain texture to a piece of cardstock. Before cutting this panel to fit each layer of the card base, I lightly ink-blended Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink over the embossed areas. This added a touch of depth and helped the texture pop! I then cut and attached the embossed background panels to the various layers of the card base, creating a complete and cohesive scene.

    Building the Window Scene
The centerpiece of this card is, of course, the beautiful window scene. I die-cut the window and balcony using the Lovely Layers: Window - Honey Cuts. The intricate details of the balcony add so much elegance, while the layered design of the window provides a realistic, cozy look. For the Christmas decor, I used the Lovely Layers: Window Holiday Add-On dies, which include holly leaves, poinsettias, and other festive elements to adorn the window and balcony.

    Adding Snowy and Sparkly Details
To bring a touch of winter magic, I used a combination of Fine Prisma Glitter on the lights and Chunky Glitter along the icicles and window trim, creating the look of fresh snow. The shimmer adds such a festive touch! The Christmas balls on the tree were created using Gingerbread Pearl Stickers, giving the appearance of ornaments that reflect the warm glow from the inside.

    Adding the Sentiment
I used the Wonder Of Christmas Stamp Set for the sentiment, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night," and die cut it with the coordinating Wonder Of Christmas - Honey Cuts. I love how this sentiment ties together the cozy, classic Christmas vibe of the card.

    6. Assembling the Card
Once all the pieces were ready, I adhered the window edges to each side of the bridge card base. This allowed the window to "pop" as the focal point of the card and gave the design a three-dimensional look.

This card stands up nicely, making it perfect for displaying, but it also folds flat, which is great for mailing. I love how this cozy Christmas window scene turned out – it’s almost like peeking into a festive winter night!

Hello, crafty friends! I’m excited to share this vibrant fall-themed card featuring the new Falloween Release from Honey Bee Stamps. Fall is such a wonderful time to create heartfelt, seasonal cards, and this project brings all those cozy autumn vibes to life. Using a variety of dies, stamps, and embellishments, I had so much fun crafting this colorful pumpkin patch scene. Let’s dive into the details!

    CARD RECIPE
Foam - Foam adhesive to elevate the background
    Inks:
    Pumpkin Patch Focus
The star of the card is the gorgeous Bold Background: Pumpkin Patch Dies. These detailed pumpkins and vines are perfect for creating a layered, dimensional scene. I die-cut the entire background from white cardstock and used Inkon3 inks to blend vibrant colors onto the pumpkins and leaves. The inks blended beautifully, creating a gradient effect from soft yellows to deep pinks and greens, giving the pumpkins a lively, almost glowing appearance. The only solid color cardstock used was brown for the pumpkin tops and the sentiment.

    Adding Dimension
To give the background some extra depth, I used foam adhesive to pop up the die-cut pieces. This small touch really makes the design stand out and gives the card a more interactive feel.

    Sentiments to Celebrate Gratitude
For the sentiment, I wanted to emphasize the theme of thankfulness. The Blessings of Fall Stamps provided the perfect phrase: “There is Always Something to Be Thankful For.” I white heat-embossed the sentiment on a dark brown banner, which pops against the colorful background.

Pumpkin Patch Card, Fall Cardmaking, Honey Bee Stamps, Falloween Release, Ink Blending, Die Cutting, Handmade Cards, Autumn Crafting, Thankful Card, Dimensional Cards, Sweet & Spooky Pearl Stickers, Blessings of Fall Stamps, Mini Messages Fall Sentiments, Bold Background Pumpkin Patch Dies, Foam Adhesive Techniques, Inkon3

On the inside, I kept the message simple with the Mini Messages: Fall Sentiments Stamps, using “Grateful for You” for a heartfelt touch.

Pumpkin Patch Card, Fall Cardmaking, Honey Bee Stamps, Falloween Release, Ink Blending, Die Cutting, Handmade Cards, Autumn Crafting, Thankful Card, Dimensional Cards, Sweet & Spooky Pearl Stickers, Blessings of Fall Stamps, Mini Messages Fall Sentiments, Bold Background Pumpkin Patch Dies, Foam Adhesive Techniques, Inkon3

    Final Embellishments
To finish off the card, I added a few Sweet & Spooky Pearl Stickers in coordinating shades. The pearls add a hint of sparkle and texture, pulling the whole design together without taking away from the colorful pumpkin patch.

I absolutely love how this card turned out! The bright, cheerful colors and the focus on gratitude make it perfect for sending fall-themed well wishes. Honey Bee Stamps’ Falloween Release has so many versatile products that allow you to create both spooky and sweet projects, and this pumpkin patch card is the perfect way to showcase them.

I hope you’re feeling inspired to create your own fall-themed cards. Don’t forget to have fun with blending inks and adding dimension with foam adhesives—it really takes your cardmaking to the next level.
