Lovely Layers Floral Card Set | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well. I have been away this past week so I apologize if you noticed my absence. I went to the mountains for a little getaway ski trip with the family for Spring Break, and I am happy to report no injuries! Yay for small victories🙌

So let's get on with today's post, cause it is a long one. It is no surprise that I love the Lovely Layers Collection from Honey Bee Stamps. I have used them in many previous projects and even made art pieces with them.

Today I wanted to share with you a card set I made using most of the collection. I kept the cards fairly simple. For all of these cards, I used a 5x7 Ivory Card base.

CARD RECIPE

This first card features the Lovely Layers: Hydrangea. I added purple ink blending in the centers of the flowers and then finished the centers with some green gem stickers. To add dimension, I used a tone of foam tape!

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Fall stamp set. All the sentiments were stamped out using Intense Black Ink.

This next card features a couple of die sets from the latest release. The dragonfly from the Lovely Layers: Bugs | Honey Cuts set and the Lovely Layers: Greenery | Honey Cuts. 

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Bloom Stamps. For the dragonfly wings I used vellum, for the body I used a piece of foiled cardstock, and to add a little sparkle I added a few gem stickers to the eyes. 

This Lovely Layers: Coneflower is one of my favorites from the collection. To give it a stem, I just sliced a thin strip of green cardstock. To add depth to the flower I used two different shades of red for the flower petals and then added some ink blending as well for shading.

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set and to finish I added a few brown pearls from the Warm Pearls Stickers set.

Sunflowers are another favorite of mine. I've used this Lovely Layers: Sunflower Die many times! For this flower, I also created a stem by slicing a piece of green cardstock.

The thank-you sentiment comes from another Itty Bitty set, the Bitty Buzzwords stamp set. To the center, I added a few more warm sticker pearls.

This next card pairs the butterfly from the Lovely Layers: Bugs dies with Lovely Layers: Anemone Dies.

The Hello You comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set. To add some interest to the center of the Anemone, I drew some lines from the center and added some small Bubble Bath Mini Domes.

This Lovely Layers: Tulips die is another one of my favorites, perfect for so many Springtime occasions or just a birthday card as shown here.

The birthday stamp comes from the Bitty Buzzwords Stamp set.

This next card I made with Mother's Day in mind. But it definitely could be used for many other occasions. This card features the Lovely Layers: Roses die cuts. If you want to see this rose done in rainbow colors click 👉here.

The I love you comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set.

And finally, this last card was made... you guessed it... for Easter. Lilies have always reminded me of Easter so I thought I would pair the Lovely Layers: Easter Lily Dies with a couple wood planks from the Wood Frame Builder die set to create a cross.

This beautifully scripted stamp comes from the Praying Big Time stamp set.

I love that these cards look like little pieces of art. How pretty would these cards look framed!? Who knows I may still end up doing that with them if I don't give them away first.

Full Panel See Through Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

Today's fun sparkly Full Panel See Through Shaker Card is part of an Instagram Hop happening over on Instagram as we continue to celebrate the Summer Stems Release from Honey Bee Stamps. If you'd like to join and enter the giveaway click HERE.

CARD RECIPE

• To create the sleeve for the card front, I used a Slimline Cello bag as the width of it makes the perfect size for an A2 Card.
• Cut a piece of acetate to A2 Size and slide it into the Slimline Cello bag.
• Trim off the excess top of the cello bag, leaving about an inch longer than the acetate to create a flap.

• Fill Cello Bag with Glitter. (I used Martha Stewart's Chunky Glitter, sorry no longer available. But you can use any flat glitter for this)
• Bend the cello over a card panel and adhere the flap to the back of it. Add tape along the cut edge to keep the glitter from falling out of the bag.

• Add another card panel to sandwich the bag and create the back of the card base. (I used a black piece of cardstock)
• Stamp the inside of the card using stamps from the Crafty Stamp Set and Honey Bee Intense Black Ink.

• Die-cut and piece together sentiments to cover up the message on the inside. I used the Crafty Honey Cuts and the Bitty Buzzword Dies. The Happy Birthday comes from the Bitty Buzzwords Stamp Set that was stamped and heat embossed in white.

And that is it! So simple right!?! How pretty is that? This Full Panel See Through Shaker Card definitely has that wow factor and an element of surprise. Perfect for a birthday card, especially a crafty friend who truly sweats glitter!

Here is how it looks when it is closed up. Almost looks like a frameless shaker card, but with a fun twist!

Happy Bee-Day Birthday Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Well hello, my friends,

Feels like forever since my last post, but really it's been just a day over a week. I have been a busy bee with work, our new puppy, and my daughter just had her wisdom teeth out Friday and she is in quite a bit of pain, so have been taking extra good care of her.

Today's card features the new HONEY DIPPER BACKGROUND STENCIL for the Let's Celebrate Release that I have been wanting to play with.

CARD RECIPE

• On a black piece of cardstock using the HONEY DIPPER BACKGROUND STENCIL apply a thin layer of your preferred paste I used GOLDEN ERA GLACIER PASTE. Set aside to dry.
• Stamp out the bee images from the BUSY BEE stamp set using HONEY BEE INTENSE BLACK INK.
• Color in images. I used Copic Markers.
• Die-cut bees using the coordinating BUSY BEE DIES.

• Die-cut the pieces for happy using dies from the BITTY BUZZWORDS DIES. I used 2 yellow cardstock layers and 2 white cardstock layers pieced onto the black shadow die.
• Die-cut the letters to spell out Bee-Day using the TAILGATE ALPHABET DIES. I cut two yellow layers, one black and one white layer to create dimension and add pops of coordinating colors.
• Die-cut the dry HONEY DIPPER BACKGROUND STENCIL layer created earlier using one of the SCALLOP A2 FRAME DIES. I glued that onto a black piece of cardstock trimmed a little larger than the scallop frame.
• Arrange pieces onto the background and adhere using the BEE CREATIVE GLUE also popping up the bees using foam tape.

• Glue the background onto the card base using black foam tape.
• Embellish the bees with white pen details and add glitter to the wings using Liquid Pixie Dust. I also used pixie dust on the top of the letters.
• To finish add the bee trails using gold gems from the FUNFETTI BIRTHDAY GEM STICKERS.
