Lovely Layers Floral Card Set | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well. I have been away this past week so I apologize if you noticed my absence. I went to the mountains for a little getaway ski trip with the family for Spring Break, and I am happy to report no injuries! Yay for small victories🙌

So let's get on with today's post, cause it is a long one. It is no surprise that I love the Lovely Layers Collection from Honey Bee Stamps. I have used them in many previous projects and even made art pieces with them.

Today I wanted to share with you a card set I made using most of the collection. I kept the cards fairly simple. For all of these cards, I used a 5x7 Ivory Card base.

CARD RECIPE

This first card features the Lovely Layers: Hydrangea. I added purple ink blending in the centers of the flowers and then finished the centers with some green gem stickers. To add dimension, I used a tone of foam tape!

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Fall stamp set. All the sentiments were stamped out using Intense Black Ink.

This next card features a couple of die sets from the latest release. The dragonfly from the Lovely Layers: Bugs | Honey Cuts set and the Lovely Layers: Greenery | Honey Cuts. 

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Bloom Stamps. For the dragonfly wings I used vellum, for the body I used a piece of foiled cardstock, and to add a little sparkle I added a few gem stickers to the eyes. 

This Lovely Layers: Coneflower is one of my favorites from the collection. To give it a stem, I just sliced a thin strip of green cardstock. To add depth to the flower I used two different shades of red for the flower petals and then added some ink blending as well for shading.

The sentiment comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set and to finish I added a few brown pearls from the Warm Pearls Stickers set.

Sunflowers are another favorite of mine. I've used this Lovely Layers: Sunflower Die many times! For this flower, I also created a stem by slicing a piece of green cardstock.

The thank-you sentiment comes from another Itty Bitty set, the Bitty Buzzwords stamp set. To the center, I added a few more warm sticker pearls.

This next card pairs the butterfly from the Lovely Layers: Bugs dies with Lovely Layers: Anemone Dies.

The Hello You comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set. To add some interest to the center of the Anemone, I drew some lines from the center and added some small Bubble Bath Mini Domes.

This Lovely Layers: Tulips die is another one of my favorites, perfect for so many Springtime occasions or just a birthday card as shown here.

The birthday stamp comes from the Bitty Buzzwords Stamp set.

This next card I made with Mother's Day in mind. But it definitely could be used for many other occasions. This card features the Lovely Layers: Roses die cuts. If you want to see this rose done in rainbow colors click 👉here.

The I love you comes from the Bitty Buzzwords: Be Mine stamp set.

And finally, this last card was made... you guessed it... for Easter. Lilies have always reminded me of Easter so I thought I would pair the Lovely Layers: Easter Lily Dies with a couple wood planks from the Wood Frame Builder die set to create a cross.

This beautifully scripted stamp comes from the Praying Big Time stamp set.

I love that these cards look like little pieces of art. How pretty would these cards look framed!? Who knows I may still end up doing that with them if I don't give them away first.

Floral Friendship Cards | Guest Designing for Pigment Craft Co.

Hello, and Happy Monday my crafty Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. 

Today I am excited to be a Guest Designer for one of my new Favorite Craft Companies, Pigment Craft Co, which also happens to be Canadian! Check out the post →HERE!

I am sharing 3 Floral cards featuring some fabulous new goodies from Pigment Craft Co's June Release.

CARD RECIPE#1

• Stamp flowers and leaves from the ANEMONE set in desired colors. Add details with Copic markers to centers of flowers. I used Distress Oxide inks (Colors used in Supply List below). Allow enough time to dry.
• Use an anti-static powder tool to remove static from stamped images.
• Stamp embossed details using a watermark ink and heat set desired embossing powder. Juicy Ink used with Chrome Emb. Pwd.
• The center of each Anemone was stamped with Black Onyx Ink. 
• Die-cut stamped images using the coordinating ANEMONE DIES.
• Add Glossy Accents to the flower centers and allow to dry. Finish the centers by adding white gel pen highlights. Set aside.

• Stamp out the Thank You from the MUCH TOO KIND stamp set using the same ink and Emb. Pwd. as the previous step.
• Die-cut the sentiment using the coordinating MUCH TOO KIND DIE. 
• Die-cut, stack, and glue together until desired thickness is achieved. I used 4 layers. 
• Color in the heart on the end of the "u" using a Copic color that matches the color scheme.

• Create the background by using the BITTY DOT STENCIL SET and paste of choice. Allow the background to dry.
• Arrange pieces and adhere them to the background using foam tape where needed.
• Finish by adding some Silver Pearls.

CARD RECIPE#2

• On watercolor paper, stamp out the images from the ANEMONE set using a watermark ink and heat set desired embossing powder. Again, Juicy Ink was used with Chrome Emb. Pwd. 
• Die-cut the pieces using the coordinating ANEMONE DIE.
• Color in images. For the flowers, I used a black ink ATELIER PAINT IT BLACK. This ink has some pink and green undertones and is really beautiful when it is lightly blended out. Pictures don't do it justice!
• Once the flowers were dry I repeated the same process for the centers, only this time I sprinkled glitter over the glossy accents while still wet.
• For the leaves, I used ATELIER TRINITY TEAL ink.

• To the background, stamp out the Hello using the DASHING OUTLINE FONTS.
• Add the dots to the background by using the BITTY DOT STENCIL SET and paste of choice. Allow the background to dry.

• Color in the Hello using the same ink as the leaves.
• Trim the panel and attach it to the card base.
• Arrange the flowers and glue them to the card front using glue and foam where needed.

CARD RECIPE#3

• Stamp out the background using the desired colors along with each layer of the PATTERN BUILDER: FLOWERING PETALS.
• Trim panel.

• Stamp out the Kindness from the MUCH TOO KIND stamp set using the same ink and Emb. Pwd. as card #1.
• Die-cut the Kindness using the coordinating MUCH TOO KIND DIE. 
• Die-cut, stack, and glue together until desired thickness is achieved. I used 4 layers. 

• Glue the stacked greeting to the panel.
• Place the panel in the stamp positioning tool and stamp out the Spread using black ink.

• Glue panel to the card base.
• Embellish by adding Drops of a coordinating color.
