Ocean Scene Shadow Box Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends! 

Hope you are enjoyng the beautiful warm weather, and hopefully you aren't in a place where the temperatures are extremely hot at the moment. Thankfully here in Edmonton, the weather has wonderful. Even still I wish we lived closer to the beach so I could go dive into the ocean just like todays card reminds me of.

CARD RECIPE

• Die cut all the ocean pieces you want to use from the Ocean Deep Scene Builder Dies. With Copic markers and gel pen add details to the die cuts. Set them aside.
• Die cut the pieces for the shadow box card. I used the A2 Scene Builder Card Base Dies to create the skeleton for this shadow box card. I die cut the front of this die set 3 times using progressively darker shades of blue card stock. This die cuts an opening for the card scene, but because I want to create the ocean wave layers I had to cut 3 pieces of the same colored cardstock to cover up the opening which measured 4.5 x 4.25 inches. I then die cut the ocean waves into each layer from largest to smallest, lightest to darkest color. 

• Glue the ocean layer onto the coordinating front card die-cut frame. 
• Cut the side panels to 1/4 inch on each side of the frames, you will use these tabs to glue later to form the layers of the card.
• To the back panel of the card base (black layer), I stamped out the sentiment from the Seas The Day stamp set. 

• Attach the 2 middle layers of the scene to the card base. I used red line tape and attached one side first and then the other side, ensuring they fold flat in both directions.
• For the top layer of the ocean frame, I used the Layered Waves Stencils to add more interest to the front of the card by blending out Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. 
• Start gluing the pieces to create the ocean scene. 
• Once you are happy glue one side of the card to the base and then fold and line up to glue the other side of the card. 
• Finish by adding gel pen details and gem stickers.

To the back, I glued a white card panel and left it blank. I think this card would make a great retirement, birthday, or Bon Voyage card. 

Fold flat into an A2-sized envelope and mail it to a friend.

Whaley Great Frameless Slimline Shaker Card | Tonic Studios

Hello friends, 

Guess what?  Not only is today Father's Day, but it is also my Birthday! Woohoo!!! Yay for getting older, lol!

Today's card is part of an 👉Instagram Hop. A bunch of my crafty friends and I have joined together to encourage and send good vibes to a fellow crafter in need. Please join us over there and help send some love and encouragement to our friend Andy Granick.

As you can see I made another frameless shaker card. Only this time I did use the Shaker Creator Pockets that I helped to develop from Tonic Studios. If you haven't tried my DIY technique or using these pockets you are missing out as they are a complete shaker game changer.

CARD RECIPE

• Create your background panel. (I used Atelier Re-Inkers to watercolor this slimline panel)
• Stamp out the images onto the background.
• SHOOT FOR THE STARS
• WHALEY GREAT SET
• Die-cut the fish into the sea and then glue a piece of foil cardstock in behind the panel.
• Trim to fit the Slimline Shaker Creator Pocket.

• Create the Shaker Pocket by folding and gluing down 3 of the SHAKER CREATOR tabs to the background panel.
• Fill with shaker bits.
• Fold and glue down the last tab.
• Add the Shaker Front to a Slimline Card base using a strong adhesive.
• Stamp out the images from the WHALEY GREAT SET, color, and die-cut them using the coordinating die set.
• Glue them onto the shaker front.
• The moon comes from the SHOOT FOR THE STARS set that I ink blended.

• Stamp the inside with a sentiment from the WHALEY GREAT SET.

• Here are a few close-ups of this pretty ocean scene.

Shark-Tastic Birthday Wobbler Card | Studio Katia

Happy Friday my "Jawsome" friends!

Yah,  I really can't help it, I am going to be a bit punny with my card today. This Jawsome stamp set is filled with so many punnies perfect for so many occasions. But today I'm using it to share a fun birthday card I made for my little cousin. I'm kinda kicking myself because the shark on the surfboard is on a wobbler and I didn't get a clip of it in action😭. So you will have to take my word for it it is SO Sharktastic, lol!

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I stamped out the sharks and the surfboard from the JAWSOME set. Colored them in with Copic markers and then die cut them with the JAWESOME coordinating dies. 

Next, I created the pieces for the background. On Bristol paper, I blended out the sun rays for the sky using the UNDERWATER SUN RAYS using mustard seed distress oxide ink, then die cut the panel with the dotted frame from the DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3 DIES. 

For the ocean background, I blended out salty ocean oxide ink onto Bristol paper and once a base of color was applied I added the waves in by blending out another layer of color using the BRUSH STROKE WAVES STENCIL. To add a little more interest to the water I spritzed the piece with some water drops and picked them up with a paper towel. I then die cut waves into the ocean by using the TRIMMINGS BORDERS CREATIVE DIE and then die cut the dotted bottom edge and the sides to line up with the Sun Rays panel using the same DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3 DIES. 

Now that all the pieces were done, I assembled the card onto a top folding A2 sized card front. I started by gluing on the sun rays piece first, and then the middle wave piece and lastly, the bottom wave popped up using foam tape. At this point, I stamped on the sentiment to the top of the card front using a stamp positioner. Finally, I glued the sharks as shown in the water, but for the shark on the right I first glued him to the surfboard (don't look to closely or you will see that he is actually on the bottom of it, I was trying to cover up the bite mark from the board, haha) and then I attached the glued surfing shark to an action wobbler to add an interactive element for the recipient. I then finished the card by adding some clear CLEAR ROUND DROPS MIX.

On the inside, I had stamped the sentiment "have a JAWSOME birthday" but forgot to photograph it
