Hello Everyone! Today I am so honored to be participating in Altenew's 6th Anniversary Blog Hop, so welcome to Day 3! If you came from Sveta Fotinia's Blog you are on the right track, but if not please start at the Altenew Blog. You can find the complete hop list below.
Both of my cards today feature one of my favorite sets from Altenew which is the LEAF CLUSTER stamp set.
For this first card, I wanted to play with the METALLIC WATERCOLORS and so I thought they would look cool on black cardstock and you know what I was right, I love the look!
So first I stamped out the LEAF CLUSTERS using white pigment ink and then I went back and colored the leaves using the metallic ink.
I then stamped out a sentiment from the SENTIMENT STRIPS stamp set onto black paper and heat set it using white embossing powder. I then trimmed it and glued it onto a white strip to give it a border.
To finish I added splatters using colors I had used on the leaves. Love the results of the metallic color contrast on the black cardstock. I can't wait to use these inks again!
For this next slimline card, I used the LEAF CLUSTERS set again, but this time I used them on white watercolor paper and used the TROPICAL FIESTA WATERCOLOR BRUSH MARKERS to create a no-line loose watercolor look.
To create this look, I first stamped out the leaves using Fadeout Ink. I then used the watercolor markers to add color to each leaf. Once everything was colored (and here is the scary part) I sprayed the entire panel with a light mist of water to allow the ink to move and let that dry. I also added a light wash of blue while the paper was still wet.
Once it was dry I went back and added more pigment to certain areas that faded too much.
Next, I stamped out the friend from the MEGA GREETINGS 3 stamp set and heat set using gold embossing powder. I finished the greeting by adding a strip along the entire panel using a sentiment from the BUILD A FLOWER STARGAZER stamp set and added some gold pearl embellishments.
