Rainbow Inspired Birthday Cards | Crafty Meraki

Hello friends and Happy Thursday!

CARD RECIPE

For this frameless/infinity/edge to edge card, lol... whatever you want to call it 😂 I began with ink blending the CRAFTY MERAKI BIRTHDAY BALLOONS STENCIL using Atelier Inks. Once I had blended the first layer I repositioned the stencil and then blended the balloons out again to create the overlapping effect.

I then used a shaker pocket to create the frameless shaker. I used Assorted Moonshine Sequins to fill the shaker. Then once sealed I glued it onto an A2 card base.

I then stamped out the cute images from the CRAFTY MERAKI MAGICAL DAY STAMP SET out and colored them in with Copics and then added white gel pen details and sparkle glitter to some areas. 

For the sentiments, I just stamped them out in white ink and heat embossed them using white emb. pwd.

For my second card, I used the CRAFTY MERAKI LOVE POTION STAMP SET. I stamped it out onto watercolor paper using Fadeout Ink and then colored the beautiful image using Zig Real Color Brush Markers.

Once the coloring had dried, I added white gel pen highlights and prepped the paper for heat embossing using an anti-static tool.

I then stamped the sentiment using watermark ink and heat set it using gold emb. pwd. I used the same products to add a gold edging around the panel.

To finish this beauty, I added a few Gold Pearls.

This simpler version retirement card features the negative cuts of the previous one that have been stacked onto 3 more white die-cut layers for added dimension.

You Are Amazing Frameless Shaker Card | Hero Arts MMHK April 2022 Global Team Blog Hop

Hello my friends, and happy Friday! Welcome to the Hero Arts Global Team Blog Hop. Today our design team is sharing inspiration featuring April's Hero Art Releases. If you have started to hop already you may have come from my friend Erica's Blog and you are on the right track. I will share more about the giveaway and the hop list at the end of the post.

For my project today, I created a frameless shaker card, also known as the flat/edge2edge/infinity card... a design/technique that is near and dear to my heart as I introduced it to the card-making community at Creativation 2020, and these pockets are now available from many companies. For a DIY version, which I still make, and to see where these cards all started click HERE to watch a video, as I won't go into details on how to put it all together. 

CARD RECIPE

• Stamp out the floral image using the 6" x 6" Cling Stamp from the MMHK April 2022 onto Bristol paper using Intens-ified Black Ink. 
• Blend out the background using inks to blend out the colors of the rainbow. I used Hero's Reactive ink cubes. 
• Use the Stencils from the kit to intensify areas of the floral images.
• Use Copic markers to color in the bees.
• I added liquid pixie dust to the centers of the flowers and the wings of the bees.

• Create the pocket for the shaker and fill it with all the shaker bit bling. 
• Add the finished shaker front to a card base.
• Die-cut the amazing, 3 layers of black cardstock and 1 shadow layer using silver glitter cardstock. 
• Stack and glue the black layers for the script dies, to add the finishing shine, coat with top with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat emboss using a clear embossing powder.
• Stamp out the "you are"using Unicorn Pigment Ink and heat set it using White Detail Embossing Powder.
• Fussy cut the sentiment.
• Glue onto the shaker card front.

Make a Wish Frameless Shaker Card | Tonic Studios

Hello, my friends, and happy Friday!

If you joined me here for the Tonic Studios Shoot for the Stars Blog Hop, last month, you would have known that I hadn't received the release on time. So now that the products arrived, I have a fabulous shaker card to share with you featuring the Shoot for the Stars Stamp and Die Set!

Fun fact: For those of you that don't know, the new Shaker Creator Pockets from Tonic Studios, came from my idea... Remember my DIY Frameless Shaker Cards, well I showed them to Tonic Studios last year at Creativation and they thought it was a brilliant idea! Fast forward and a little over a year and now everyone can make them. The best part is that they come in many sizes too! If you are looking for the most popular A2 size, Simon Says still has some in stock, just saying 😉 

CARD RECIPE

• I started by creating the background for this shaker card. On watercolor paper, I sprinkled various shimmer powders and then spritzed them down with water. Adding layers of color and allowing the paper to dry in between colors.

• Once dry I then die-cut random stars from the background. 
• I then adhered a piece of silver glitter paper from the SILVER SERVICE paper pad behind the background to make the stars sparkle. 
• Stamp out the sentiments onto the background panel.
• Trim background to fit inside the Shaker Creator Pocket. 

• Fold and secure 3 of the Skaker Creator tabs to the background. 
• Fill the pocket with your shaker bits.
• Seal the last tab.
• Adhere the shaker pocket to a card base.
• Finish by adhering the die-cuts to the front.

Here is a side view. These shaker pockets are so easy to put together, no foam needed!

I hope you were inspired by this Shoot for the Stars creation. I think this would make a wonderful birthday card for someone or even for a friend who needs cheering up.
