These pastel candy-inspired shaker cards are the ultimate holiday treat, featuring the Lovely Layers: Alice's Gingerbread Lane Honey Cuts from Honey Bee Stamps' Cozy Christmas Release. They're packed with details and sparkle, plus a game-changing tip for creating perfectly flat shaker pockets. Let’s dive in!

CARD RECIPE

Shaker Fillings:

Additional Supplies:

Background Details:

  • Cardstock Panels: Cut pink, blue, and white cardstock slightly smaller than A2 size for the inside panels. Splatter them with white ink for a snowy effect.

Shaker Pocket Hacks

  1. Flattening the Shaker Pocket:
To eliminate the "pillow effect" caused by the acetate's natural spring, using a heat gun apply gentle heat to the glued tabs once attached to the paper. This resets the plastic's memory, leaving your shaker cards flat and polished.

  2. Keep It Clean:
Leave the protective film on the shaker pocket until you're ready to glue it to the card base. This prevents scratches and ensures a pristine finish!

  3. Use flat fillers for smoother movement inside the shaker. The flatter the bits, the more fluid the movement!

Create the Shaker:
For the inside of each shaker, I cut pink, blue, and white cardstock panels slightly smaller than A2 size. Splatter with white pigment ink for a snowy backdrop. Place these panels inside the Bee Creative A2 Shaker Pockets, and seal 3/4 sides. Fill each shaker pocket with shaker bits like Bokeh Lights Confetti MixCandyland Clay PiecesPeppermint Ice Clay Pieces, and sequins for maximum movement. Seal the pocket and apply heat to the tabs for a flat, sleek look if you do not like the natural forming pillow effect.

Create the Gingerbread Scene:
Use the Lovely Layers: Alice's Gingerbread Lane Honey Cuts to die-cut the gingerbread houses. Add chunky glitter to mimic snow, and use Copic markers for shading and depth.

Assemble the Scene:
Use the Horizon Slimline Borders Honey Cuts to die-cut snowy hills, and adhere these along with the houses and die-cut sentiments directly onto the front of the shaker pocket.

Add Final Touches:
Embellish the gingerbread houses with Gingerbread Pearl Stickers and sprinkles.

Finish the Inside Sentiments:
Stamp cheerful holiday sentiments from the Sprinkled With Joy Stamp Set using a blue ink pad. These coordinate beautifully with the pastel tones of the cards.

Mini Holiday Floral Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Festive holiday shaker card featuring layered pink and red floral die-cuts, a textured brick background, gingham patterned paper in the shaker window, and a "Happy Holidays" sentiment. Embellished with pearl stickers and glitter for added sparkle.

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I'm sharing a festive shaker card I created for Honey Bee Stamps using mostly new goodies from the Cozy Christmas Release. This project combines some lovely floral layers with a cozy, textured background, perfect for sending "Happy Holidays" wishes. Let’s dive into the details of how I brought this card to life!

CARD RECIPE
  • Layering Vintage Labels Honey Cuts – Frame for the shaker window
  • Rustic Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder – Embossed background
  • Gingerbread Village Paper Pad – Background patterned paper
  • Cello Sheets – To create the shaker window
  • Great Greetings: Holiday Honey Cuts – Sentiment
  • Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey Cuts – Floral elements
  • Bee Creative Clear Embossing Ink & Clear Embossing Powder – For the sentiment's glossy finish
  • Gingerbread Pearl Stickers – As embellishments
  • Prisma Glitter – Added sparkle to the florals
  • Iridescent Chunky Confetti – For the shaker filler (discontinued product, link to similar product)
  • Copic Pigment - White Splatter

  • Lovely Layered Florals

For a beautiful floral touch, I used the Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey CutsAfter die-cutting, I ink-blended each piece and added extra depth with Copic markers, and then I splattered white ink to enhance the wintry feel. Once assembled, I set the floral elements aside to work on the shaker frame.

    Creating the Shaker Front

To create the front of the shaker, I die-cut the largest frame from the Layering Vintage Labels Honey Cuts out of white cardstock. Next, I ran it through the Rustic Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder to add cozy brick detailing to the card front. Then I set this piece aside while I prepared the background.

    Building the Background

For warmth and a rustic touch, I selected a charming gingham pattern from the Gingerbread Village Paper Pad for the background. I trimmed the paper slightly larger than the window opening, added the shaker bits in the center, and adhered a cello sheet over the area using liquid glue along the perimeter. Since these shaker bits add minimal bulk, foam tape wasn’t necessary. Finally, I attached this piece behind the shaker window, creating a charming holiday scene, and adhered it to the card base.

    Adding the Florals

With the shaker component in place, I arranged the floral elements from the previous steps around the card. I used foam adhesive to elevate some of the pieces, giving the design depth and dimension.

    Sentiment

For the "Happy Holidays" sentiment, I used the Great Greetings: Holiday Honey Cuts. To give the letters a glossy, dimensional look, I applied Bee Creative Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. This subtle shine makes the sentiment pop against the background, adding thickness and rigidity to the die cuts.

    Final Touches
For the finishing touches, I applied Prisma Glitter to parts of the florals, adding a festive sparkle. I also used Gingerbread Pearl Stickers as embellishments to enhance the holiday feel. These small details bring the card to life, making it perfect for spreading holiday cheer!

Hello, my friends, and happy Monday. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Today I have some super simple shaker designs to share with you. Perfect for mass-producing without too much effort! If you have recently have made a purchase from Honey Bee Stamps for more than $75 you would have received a Specialty Holiday Card Pack. These cardstock panels are double side with gorgeous designs and were the perfect starting point for my card designs today. If you didn't get these, no worries... I am certain you can replicate these with pattern paper. Check out all their pattern papers 👉 HERE I have 3 different versions to share, so let's get started.

Here is a close-up of the first version of the Clear Bag Shaker Card and the easiest to make. Make sure you are following me on Instagram as I will post a Reel of how these came together soon.

Not only are these shakers pretty from the outside, just look how cute they are on the inside.

Version One | Clear Bag Shaker Cards
    • Cut a Slimline Cello Bag to 4 5/16 x 6 1/2" for a vertical A2 size card. If using a horizontal panel you will need an A7+ Cello Bag.
    • Slide one of the Specialty Holiday Card Pack panels inside the clear bag.
    • Fill the clear bag with sequins, try to compliment the colors of the panel.
    • Grab your card base. The entire card base will form the back panel of the card. The top of the clear bag will be sandwiched between the card base. Flip the card base upside down so that the fold is on the bottom and the opening is on the top.
    • Place the filled cello bag in front of the upside-down card base.
    • Fold the overhang of the Cello Bag (1 Inch) over the top of the upside-down card base and crease the Clear Bag fold with your fingernails. This will create the flap that you will be sandwiched between the card base.
    • Cut the corners off the top of each side of the clear bag. Make sure to cut above the line that you just creased.
    • Add two strips of double-sided tape to the card base. One just under the edge of the card base and one ½’ below that one. Remove the protective piece from the double-sided tape.
    • Center and align the Clear Bag in front of the upside-down card front and press the cello flap down onto the double-sided tape.
    • Just above the creased area of the cello bag add another strip of double-sided tape to seal it up and keep sequins from falling out of the bag. For extra insurance, you can add a piece of tape over the edge of the flap.
    • Add glue or double-sided tape along the edges of the front panel to glue the card base together.
Here is what the cards from the first picture above look like when opened up. Just love the patterns on the inside!

    Version 2 | Partial See-Through Shaker Cards

My next set of cards were done the exact same way as the first set only this time I created Partial See-Through Shaker Cards.

For this first card, since it is horizontal I used an A7+ Cello Bag to give me the width I needed for the horizontal layout. I also had to trim a sliver of paper from each side to have the panel fit inside the bag. The card base itself is A2 sized.

To create the Partial See-Through Shaker Cards, all you do is cut the panel and glue part of it to a piece of acetate that is then inserted into the clear bag shaker sleeve. The other part of the patterned panel is then glued to the inside of the card base. Follow the rest of the instructions for version one for how to assemble the card.

For the rest of the card examples I used the I used a Slimline Cello Bag for the vertical design. This next card I also used a hexagon die to split the panel.

Use a square die or a blade to cut out the Happy holidays in the next card.

Creating Holiday Cards with these panels was so easy as most of them have a greeting in the front and a fun coordinating design on the other side.

Below is what the cards looked like and as you can see, they still have plenty of space to write a message.

    Version Three | Tri-fold See-Through Shaker Cards

The final two cards I am sharing today, are examples of Tri-fold See-Through Shaker Cards. If you have seen my previous See Through Flat Shakers they require a large sentiment panel on the front to hide the message written inside. This tri-fold design solves that and leaves you with plenty of room to write a message on the inside.

The front panel on this card is completely clear using only acetate and the sequins and can be displayed as shown below or completely opened up as you will see in the next card example.

Once the card is completely open, it reveals space for a long written message for the recipient. You could also add a stopper for the front panel to rest on or add a gift cardholder to the bottom panel for an added element of surprise. You could also add die-cut images to the front clear panel to dress up the front. I kept these as simple as possible for mass production.

Clear Bag Shaker Cards, Honey Bee Stamps, Specialty Holiday Card Pack, pattern Paper, Flat, Frameless,See Through panel, acetate, Christmas Cards, mass produce,Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to,

Here is another example of a Tri-fold Shaker Card. This time it isn't See-Through though.

Clear Bag Shaker Cards, Honey Bee Stamps, Specialty Holiday Card Pack, pattern Paper, Flat, Frameless,See Through panel, acetate, Christmas Cards, mass produce,Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to,

For Tri-fold Shakers follow the same first few steps as the first card examples.
    • Cut a small sliver from the bottom of the front of the card base panel. This will make it easier for the card to close once it is all assembled.
    • Flip the card base upside down so that the fold is on the bottom and the opening is on the top. Like a “V”. Face the panel that is shorter towards you (see the previous step).
    • Place the filled clear bag in front of the upside-down card base and align the sides and the bottoms together.
    • Fold the overhang of the bag (1 Inch) over the top of the upside-down card base and crease the Cello Bag fold with your fingernails. This will create the flap that you will glue to the back of the card base.
    • Cut the corners of the bag above the crease mark.
    • To the back of the upside-down card, base add 2 strips of double-sided tape. One just under the edge of the card base and one ½’ below that one. Remove the protective piece from the double-sided tape.
    • Center and align the bag in front of the upside-down card base and press the cello flap down onto the double-sided tape.
    • Lay the card flat so that you can still access the opening of the shaker pocket.
    • Slide a piece along the entire width of the card using double-sided tape. Place the tape strip just above the creased edge of the cello bag flap.
    • Remove the protective layer and press the bag shut. This will seal the shaker pocket and keep glitter and shaker bits from flowing into the top opening.
    • Add an extra piece of clear tape along the edge of the cello flap for extra insurance.
    • To finish the back of the card base, glue an A2 panel cut to the same size as the card base. This covers up the bag's flap and becomes the backside of the middle panel of the tri-fold.

These eleven cards were completed in less than a few hours, but I was filming some of the process which took longer. I'm sure I could have done way more in that time otherwise. This was an easy and simple way to mass-produce some really fun and unique Christmas Cards. The cool thing is that they are pretty flat as you can see from the image below and shouldn't require extra postage. Just remember less is more when adding sequins and shaker bits! By the way, all of my shaker bit mixes were custom mixed to coordinate with each card and come from the Honey Bee Shop

I hope you have been inspired to make some Clear Bag Shakers. If you have any questions feel free to message me or leave me a comment below. I will do my best to help you out. I can't promise that you won't get addicted to making these just like my other flat frameless shaker card designs that everyone is doing now!

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy crafting.

CAS Snowflake Stencil Cards | Studio Katia

CAS Snowflake Stencil Cards | Studio Katia by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

    Well hello, friends!

Today I am back with a couple of Christmas cards inspired by the new Snowflake Stencils from Studio Katia.

    CARD DETAILS

To begin I started by adding Glimmer paste to both panels. For this first card, I used the SNOWFLAKE STENCIL and applied Moonstone Glimmer paste and set it off to dry. Once it was dry I used the frame from the LOOPS: CREATIVE DIE to cut out the card front for what would become the shaker window. Next, I used the ELEGANT SCALLOP OVAL to die cut the opening for the shaker. To the back of the panel, I glued on a piece of ACETATE that I trimmed to cover the opening.

CAS Snowflake Stencil Cards | Studio Katia by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

I then used the window as a guide to figure out where to add the sentiment. I then stamped the sentiment from the GIFT TAG GREETINGS:WINTER directly onto the front of the card base and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder. I also added the same embossing to the little bow that I would later embellish the top of the oval frame with.

Next, I added a little pile of the FROST GLITTER and the ICY SPARKLE CRYSTALS directly over the sentiment and then popped on the front shaker panel that I had added FOAM tape too. To finish this card I then glued on the thin dotted frame and glued some more crystals to the card front.

CAS Snowflake Stencil Cards | Studio Katia by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

This next card was done the exact same way as the previous card only this time I simplified it even more by not creating a shaker. Also, for this card, I used the FLORAL SNOWFLAKE STENCIL and applied Silver Gem Paste.

CAS Snowflake Stencil Cards | Studio Katia by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

Again here I used the frame from the LOOPS: CREATIVE DIE to cut out the panel as well as the same sentiment from the GIFT TAG GREETINGS: WINTER this time stamped onto black cardstock and embossed in white.

To finish up the card I popped foam onto the back of the panel and glued it and the frame to the card base and then embellished the front with SILVER FOIL PEARLS.
