Sending You an Easter Hello Shaker Card | Picket Fence Studios

Front of an Easter shaker card with the "Happy Easter" die-cut sentiment filled with sequins, a stenciled grassy background, and adorable bunnies holding eggs and chocolates.

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m thrilled to share a cheerful and interactive Easter card featuring some amazing products from the January Picket Fence Studios Release. This project combines stamping, stenciling, and shaker elements to create a card full of dimension, sparkle, and adorable details.

CARD RECIPE

Other Supplies

Front of the Card:

Background Preparation:
I started by coloring the background for the "Happy Easter Word Die" sentiment using Paper Splatter - Opaque Pale Lavender. To achieve a solid, vibrant color, I applied multiple layers and allowed the ink to dry thoroughly.

Stencil Blending:
Using the Scene Building A2 Stencil Set: Layers of Adventures, I created a soft grassy meadow and sky background with Distress Oxide Inks and Life Changing Blender Brushes. This added depth and set the stage for the shaker element.

Creating the Shaker Frame:
    • I die-cut the shadow layer of the Happy Easter Word Die from the stenciled background.
    • Next, I adhered acetate to the back of the panel and lined up and glued the die cut piece with the card base to ensure perfect alignment.
    • To create a well for the shaker pieces, I used foam tape around the opening, leaving enough space to add the Sequin Mix Plus - Easter Bop.
    • After placing the shaker bits in the center of the card base, I carefully aligned and adhered the front panel over it. Pro Tip: Adding a little glue to the foam tape allows some wiggle room to perfect the alignment.
Adding the Sentiment:
    • I die-cut the "Happy Easter Word Die" sentiment three times—twice in white cardstock for stacking and once with the lavender layer for the top.
    • Using a paintbrush, I applied a thin layer of glue across the middle-to-top portion of the letters and sprinkled Prisma Glitter for a fine sparkle.
    • For the bottom portion, I repeated the process with chunky glitter to create a beautiful ombrรฉ effect.
    • Finally, I adhered the glittered sentiment to the acetate opening.
Adding the Bunnies:
The cute bunnies from the Follow that Bunny Stamp Set were stamped with Picket Fence Studio Black Hybrid Ink, colored with Copic markers, and die-cut using the Follow that Bunny Coordinating Die Set. I arranged them around the shaker frame to complete the playful Easter scene.

Front of an Easter shaker card with the "Happy Easter" die-cut sentiment filled with sequins, a stenciled grassy background, and adorable bunnies holding eggs and chocolates.

Inside of the Card:

Inside of an Easter card featuring a bunny holding a balloon, a stamped sentiment reading "Sending You an Easter Hello," and colorful stenciled butterflies for added detail.

Finishing Touches:

  • I added highlights with a white gel pen to the bunnies and elements for dimension.

This Easter card is packed with cuteness, sparkle, and a touch of springtime joy. The combination of Picket Fence Studios’ stamps, dies, and stencils makes creating a cohesive and professional-looking card effortless.

I hope this inspires your next Easter project! Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Good Luck Cards | Honey Bee Stamps - Perfect Match Release

A handmade card featuring pink ombre glitter letters spelling 'good luck' on a pink-toned embossed background with a vellum frame. A red gem-encrusted heart is at the center of the card, accented by additional small red gems for embellishment. The design is set against a backdrop of playing card elements and soft pink tones

Today, I am thrilled to share two "Good Luck" cards I created as part of the Perfect Match Release Instagram Hop for Honey Bee Stamps! These cards use the same basic techniques but differ slightly in their finishing details, making them unique and fun in their own ways. Don’t forget to head over to my ๐Ÿ‘‰Instagram to enter the giveaway for a chance to win amazing prizes! TWO $50 Gift Cards (one each) will be given to the to the lucky winners!

Shared Techniques:
  • Embossed Backgrounds: Both cards feature backgrounds created using the Aces - 3D Embossing Folder. A TIP to prevent tears in the paper is to lightly mist the cardstock with water before running it through your die-cut machine.
  • Die-Cut Letters: The "good luck" sentiment was created using the BEE Playful Lowercase Alphabet Honey Cuts. TIP - For perfect letter alignment, use a straight edge or gridlines to align them, pick up the letters with low-tack tape, and adhere them by flipping the tape like a hinge to secure the letters in place.
  • Vellum Layers: Both cards include vellum frames to soften the backgrounds and create dimension. I used two different frame die sets for added variety.

A red gem-encrusted heart is at the center of the card, accented by additional small red gems for embellishment. The design is set against a backdrop of playing card elements and soft pink tones

Card 1: Pink Ombre Letters
  • Background: The embossed areas were enhanced by swiping a black ink pad across the raised portions for added depth.
  • Sentiment: I die-cut the letters from white glitter cardstock and ink-blended a soft pink ombre effect onto them.
  • Frame: The vellum background was die-cut using the Lovely Layers: Party Frame.
  • Embellishments: The central heart was bedazzled with red gems from the Real Rainbow Gem Stickers pack, and a few extra gems were added around the card for sparkle.

Tips and Tricks
  • Prevent Tearing: Always mist your cardstock lightly before embossing with a 3D folder.
  • Perfect Letter Alignment: Use gridlines or a straight edge to align your letters, then use low-tack tape to lift and position them easily.
  • Blending Gitter Cardstock: Ink blend on glitter cardstock to create custom colors to match, or create an ombre look.

Life is Better with a Furry Friend Card | Picket Fence Studios

A colorful handmade card featuring two adorable puppies sitting on a teal pillow with the sentiment "Life is better with a friend" in rainbow colors. The background has rainbow paw prints and shiny bone patterns.

Hello, crafty friends! I am so excited to share a delightful card made with some amazing products from Picket Fence Studios' December release. This card combines adorable designs, bright colors, and a touch of sparkle for a truly joyful creation. And guess what? If you'd like to see this card come together step by step, I’ve got a REEL over on my Instagram page—be sure to check it out! Let’s dive into the details!

CARD RECIPE

For this project, I played with the following fabulous Picket Fence Studios products:

Staple Products/Tools:

Creating the Background

The base of the card features a colorful background with paw prints and bones, and here’s how I achieved it:

  1. Stenciling the Rainbow Paws: I used Life Changing Blender Brushes with Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, and Broken China. These blend beautifully to create a cheerful gradient across the paw prints.
  2. Adding the Twinkling Bones: Using the bones layer of the Fetch Layering Stencil Set, I applied Twinkle Lights Clear Glaze for a subtle shine. This glaze adds dimension while keeping the background clean and playful.
A colorful handmade card featuring two adorable puppies sitting on a teal pillow with the sentiment "Life is better with a friend" in rainbow colors. The background has rainbow paw prints and shiny bone patterns.

The Dome Panel

To create the focal point for the card:

  1. I die-cut the dome shape using the Basic Die Cutting Set 1.
  2. For the shadow under the pillow, I masked the area with a sticky note and blended Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink using a Life Changing Blender Brush.
  3. I layered the adorable puppy duo from the Happy Paws Stamp and Die Set on top of the shadow, popping them up with foam for dimension. These sweet friends were colored with Copic markers and enhanced with white and gold gel pens for highlights and tiny details.
A colorful handmade card featuring two adorable puppies sitting on a teal pillow with the sentiment "Life is better with a friend" in rainbow colors. The background has rainbow paw prints and shiny bone patterns.

Sentiment and Color Coordination

The sentiment, “Life is better with a friend,” perfectly matches the cozy scene. To keep the theme vibrant:

  • Once the sentiment was positioned in the Misti, I then added the Squeezed Lemon to the middle of the stamp and diffused the edges of the ink using a Pint-sized Paper Pouncer to blend it out. I then moved on to the Picked Raspberry on top and the Broken China on the bottom. Diffusing each color with the coordinating Pint-sized Paper Pouncer. This colorful sentiment mirrors the rainbow tones from the background.
  • This cohesive approach ties the entire design together beautifully!

Crafty Tip: Seamless Die Cuts

When working with multiple die-cut images that have white border edges, you can create the illusion of a seamless join by following this trick:

  1. Die-cut your images and arrange them to determine where they overlap.
  2. Fussy cut the white edge off one of the images where it overlaps with the other.
  3. To clean up the cut edge, run a black marker along it to mimic the stamped outline.
  4. Glue the two pieces together, and voilร ! Your die-cut images will look like one continuous piece.

This tip works perfectly for the adorable puppy duo on this card!

Finishing Touches

To assemble:

  1. I adhered the stenciled background to a card base.
  2. The dome panel was popped up with foam tape for added depth.
  3. For the final touch, I scattered Celestial Skies Gems around the design, adding a hint of sparkle.

This card is bursting with personality, from the happy pups to the rainbow hues and sparkling details. It’s a heartwarming reminder that life truly is better with friends—especially the furry ones!

Mini Holiday Floral Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Festive holiday shaker card featuring layered pink and red floral die-cuts, a textured brick background, gingham patterned paper in the shaker window, and a "Happy Holidays" sentiment. Embellished with pearl stickers and glitter for added sparkle.

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I'm sharing a festive shaker card I created for Honey Bee Stamps using mostly new goodies from the Cozy Christmas Release. This project combines some lovely floral layers with a cozy, textured background, perfect for sending "Happy Holidays" wishes. Let’s dive into the details of how I brought this card to life!

CARD RECIPE
  • Layering Vintage Labels Honey Cuts – Frame for the shaker window
  • Rustic Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder – Embossed background
  • Gingerbread Village Paper Pad – Background patterned paper
  • Cello Sheets – To create the shaker window
  • Great Greetings: Holiday Honey Cuts – Sentiment
  • Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey Cuts – Floral elements
  • Bee Creative Clear Embossing Ink & Clear Embossing Powder – For the sentiment's glossy finish
  • Gingerbread Pearl Stickers – As embellishments
  • Prisma Glitter – Added sparkle to the florals
  • Iridescent Chunky Confetti – For the shaker filler (discontinued product, link to similar product)
  • Copic Pigment - White Splatter

  • Lovely Layered Florals

For a beautiful floral touch, I used the Lovely Layers: Mini Holiday Florals Honey CutsAfter die-cutting, I ink-blended each piece and added extra depth with Copic markers, and then I splattered white ink to enhance the wintry feel. Once assembled, I set the floral elements aside to work on the shaker frame.

    Creating the Shaker Front

To create the front of the shaker, I die-cut the largest frame from the Layering Vintage Labels Honey Cuts out of white cardstock. Next, I ran it through the Rustic Brick Wall 3D Embossing Folder to add cozy brick detailing to the card front. Then I set this piece aside while I prepared the background.

    Building the Background

For warmth and a rustic touch, I selected a charming gingham pattern from the Gingerbread Village Paper Pad for the background. I trimmed the paper slightly larger than the window opening, added the shaker bits in the center, and adhered a cello sheet over the area using liquid glue along the perimeter. Since these shaker bits add minimal bulk, foam tape wasn’t necessary. Finally, I attached this piece behind the shaker window, creating a charming holiday scene, and adhered it to the card base.

Festive holiday shaker card featuring layered pink and red floral die-cuts, a textured brick background, gingham patterned paper in the shaker window, and a "Happy Holidays" sentiment. Embellished with pearl stickers and glitter for added sparkle.

    Adding the Florals

With the shaker component in place, I arranged the floral elements from the previous steps around the card. I used foam adhesive to elevate some of the pieces, giving the design depth and dimension.

    Sentiment

For the "Happy Holidays" sentiment, I used the Great Greetings: Holiday Honey Cuts. To give the letters a glossy, dimensional look, I applied Bee Creative Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. This subtle shine makes the sentiment pop against the background, adding thickness and rigidity to the die cuts.

    Final Touches
For the finishing touches, I applied Prisma Glitter to parts of the florals, adding a festive sparkle. I also used Gingerbread Pearl Stickers as embellishments to enhance the holiday feel. These small details bring the card to life, making it perfect for spreading holiday cheer!

Reindeer Games: Crafting a Fun and Festive Christmas Card | Picket Fence Studios

Picket Fence Studios, Reindeer at Play, Christmas card, card making, holiday crafting, Instagram hop, stamping techniques, copic coloring, Paper Glaze, die-cutting, A2 Simple Plaid Cover Plate, handmade cards, Arctic Fox Paper Glaze, crafting tips, holiday card ideas, cardmaking blog, September Release

Today, I'm excited to share a festive and playful card featuring products from the new September Release from Picket Fence Studios! This card is part of an Instagram hop, and one lucky winner will be randomly selected from the entire hop to win a $50 Gift Card, so make sure to join me on my Instagram account for a chance to win. This card was so much fun to create, using a blend of adorable stamps, dies, and some shimmer to bring it all together. Let’s dive into the details!

    CARD RECIPE

Reindeer and Sentiment - Reindeer at Play Stamp and Die Set

Background - A2 Simple Plaid Cover Plate Die

Frame - A2 Saying Hello Cover Plate Die (older release)

Snow - Arctic Fox Paper Glaze

Embellishments - North Pole Gem Mix, Oh What Fun Sequin Mix

Ink - PFS Black Hybrid Ink Pad

Blue Sky - Life Changing Blender Brushes

Misti Insert - Paper Inking Palette - 5x6

Please note direct links for new products will be updated once post goes live.

    Card Design Breakdown

For this card, the star of the show is the Reindeer at Play Stamp and Die Set. These little reindeer images are filled with personality and bring so much whimsy to a holiday card. I colored each of the images with Copic markers, giving them bright scarves and rosy cheeks to match their playful expressions. To make Rudolph stand out, I added a red gem from the North Pole Gem Mix to his nose for that iconic holiday sparkle!

The background features the A2 Simple Plaid Cover Plate Die, adding a clean and subtle texture behind the reindeer. I love the classic plaid design because it provides the perfect backdrop without taking away from the focal images. To frame everything, I used the A2 Saying Hello Cover Plate Die, which is an older product but still one of my favorites for creating defined sections on a card front.

Tip for Quick and Easy Stamping

One of my favorite time-saving tricks when working with multiple images is to stamp them all at once. Rather than removing each stamp from the carrier sheet, I placed the entire set face down in my MISTI tool, keeping them on the carrier sheet. I secured them using the PFS Paper Inking Palette. Then, I positioned my cardstock over the stamps and taped it to the MISTI door. This allowed me to ink up and stamp all the images in one go using the PFS Black Hybrid Ink Pad.

Once the images were stamped, I left the paper secured to the MISTI door while I colored them with Copic markers. After all the coloring was done, I restamped the images to get a clean, crisp black outline, which really makes them pop. Then, I die-cut the images with the coordinating die set.

Fun Snow Details with Paper Glaze

To create a wintery scene, I wanted to add some snow underneath the reindeer. I mixed a little Arctic Fox Paper Glaze in a small plastic baggy and piped on some snow mounds for dimension. While the glaze was still wet, I sprinkled a bit of fine glitter on top for an extra frosty look. It’s such a simple touch but adds so much depth and sparkle to the card!

    Final Touches

For the sleigh, I couldn’t resist adding more festive details! The Oh What Fun Sequin Mix includes some adorable Christmas pinwheels, which I placed in the sleigh to give it a cheerful and festive look. These little touches help bring everything together, adding pops of color and shine that elevate the overall design.

And there you have it—a playful, sparkly Christmas card that’s sure to bring joy to whoever receives it! I hope this project inspires you to dive into your holiday card-making. Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions!
