Framed White Sunflower Shadow Box | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello and happy Monday crafty friends!

First of all, I would like to thank all of you that left me the sweetest comments and messages over on my Instagram in regards to the last Framed Lovely Layers Floral Bouquet I made. This beauty is now in Jennifer McGuire's craft room and I could not be happier about that! 

Today's project was made for a friend and colleague of mine (hi Tomina👋) who asked me to make a White Sunflower shadow box for her after she saw the White Sunflower Slimline card I made. 

Here is how this beautiful frame came together.

FRAME RECIPE

Dies:

•  Lovely Layers: Sunflower Dies

Paper: 

• Cream, green and brown heavyweight Colored Cardstock

Frame:

• Square 9 ¾ " Shadow Frame from IKEA (The frame I used has been discontinued, the one I linked is very similar)

Ink:

•  Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink

Die Cut Machine:

• Gemini Junior SSS | SBC

Adhesives:

•  Bee Creative Glue
• Foam Squares
• Glossy Accents

Embellishments:

•  Seed beads
• Sparkle Glitter

Other Tools:

• Embellishment Wand

Once you have put one of these flowers together, then the rest is simple. It is just a repetitive process.

1. The first thing I did was cut all the layers for the 8 sunflowers I needed to form the shape of a heart. 
2. I then ink blended up the centers of the flowers. 
3. Curled the flower petals.
4. Added foam to each layer of the flower to build up the petals and create dimension.
5. To the centers, add a layer of glue to the bottom layer. 
6. Drop the seed beads into the glue (I tried having the hole of the beads face up). Once the glue dried, I used a brown Copic Marker to color the center brown.
7. To the top of the center, add small drops of glossy accents. While still wet sprinkle with Sparkle Glitter and piece the centers together.
8. Glue centers to the flower petals.

Arrange the flowers how you like. Once you have that figured out, glue it to the paper background of the frame. Use foam to pop up some of the flowers in place. Finish by gluing the leaves in place.

I love how this White Sunflower Shadow Box frame turned out, and I hope you can see from this example that you do not need all the flowers to create something beautiful!

Rainbow Butterflies Slimline Card | Studio Katia

Hello sweet friends!

Today I have a rainbow-inspired slimline Butterfly card to share with you. As you may already know by now, my favorite color is rainbow because I love all of them, lol! So if you can't decide like me, always chose rainbow... they just make for the happiest of cards. 🌈😊

My cards today feature some of the newest products from Studio Katia. 

CARD RECIPE

Here is a breakdown of what I used and where.

Let me explain some parts.

For the background, I used three colors of ink to blend out the rainbow. I then trimmed the panel and popped it behind the new DOTTED SLIMLINE SET 3 die.

For the butterflies, I stamped the butterflies using Blackout Ink on both white cardstock and vellum. I then used 3 colors of Copic markers (pink, yellow, and blue) to blend out the rainbow colors over the entire butterfly image. As you can see I was not careful to stay in the lines. It really was about adding a quick color. For each butterfly, I just moved the markers in different directions overlapping the colors in between to give create the rainbow blend. I repeated the same thing to the vellum butterflies only this time I colored the underside of the vellum making sure I colored them in the same pattern as the coordinating paper layer.

Once the butterflies were colored I then added a thin layer of glue using a glue pen (sorry forgot to link below) to the top of the vellum wings. Once they were dry I then bent and curled the wings and glued the bodies together and added them to the card front.

The sentiment was stamped and heat-embossed onto a banner from the PEONY TRIMMINGS DIES.

Here is a closer look at the gorgeous sparkle on the wings. I am a bit obsessed with SPARKLE GLITTER!

I then just finished this Rainbow Butterflies Slimline card by dropping some coordinating pearls into the die-cut holes of the card panel.

Little Monster Cards | Tonic Studios Stamp Club Release Hop

Hello Friends, hope you had a wonderful week, and Happy FriYAY! 

It is time for another Tonic Stamp Club Release Blog Hop and this month it is all about Little Monsters!!! Perfect for Halloween cards or just all-year-round fun cards for birthdays and other occasions. 

If you have already joined the hop you should have arrived from my friend Erica's Blog.  I will link the complete hop list and giveaway details near the end of this post. I have a bunch of cards to share today so let's get started.

Here is a closer look at this month's Stamp and Die Bundle.

• 6x8" stamp and die set contains 28 stamps and 18 dies.
• Polka dot mini-slimline sized die without cutting edges great for mini-slims, creating larger background panels, and for DIY stencils.

All my cards are pretty simple. I first colored all the Monsters using Copic Markers, then die-cut them with their coordinating dies. 

For this first card, I used the Polka Dot Die to create an A2 size panel. I then glued the panel to a rainbow-colored piece of pattern paper and trimmed it to create 2 border pieces for the first two cards.

I then just added this cute little monster colored in green, along with the sentiment that I thought worked well with all his eyes!

This next Monster may be my favorite one. That face is so sweet, I think it would cheer anyone up.

For fun, I added the colorful googly eyes to the polka dot pattern.

For this next card, once again I used the Polka Dot Die. This time I used it to create a stencil for this background. Onto the black cardstock, I used white pigment ink to add the Polka dots in the background. Here again, I used the googly eyes to add some fun and interest to the card. I think this would be a fun card to send a friend around Halloween.

Shake the card and the eyes follow you. So fun! Love how this card turned out.

If you didn't already know, I love rainbows. So here are a few fun rainbow-inspired birthday cards, because I never have enough! 

I sound like a broken record, but once again, I used the Polka Dot Die to cut out the background... it's just a fun die! To the top of the card base, I then blended yellow, pink, and blue Atelier inks to create a rainbow blend. 

Next, I stamped the party sentiments and added the partygoers to the front, and finished them by adding on their googly eyes. Hard to see from the picture but the blue monster has sparkly fur. I also used glossy accents to add raised details to some of the areas. FYI, I can no longer find the link to the googly eyes I used, so I have linked to a similar source below to Amazon.

And finally, I was left with one little monster that I added to a rainbow pattern background. So simple when you are using pattern paper!

This little monster looks pretty excited about his cake. Who doesn't like birthday cake, right?!
