Masterpiece Pop Up Card | Hero Arts | My Monthly Hero Kit March 2022

Hello friends and happy weekend!

I finally got a chance to play with the My Monthly Hero Kit March 2022 and I am absolutely in love with the cards I made! Don't worry, I will be sharing them throughout the month.

Today's card features the dies included in this month's kit. I soon as I saw the dies, I knew I had to make a Pop Up using a technique Jennifer McGuire recently shared (she's so clever). This would give the card a 3-dimensional vibe and give you the feeling like you are also staring at a gorgeous piece of art at a museum.

CARD RECIPE

To begin, I actually started with the art piece. I used the Picasso Inspired Stencil with Prismacolor pencils to color in the individual openings of the stencil. Once the coloring was done I then applied a layer of Hero Paste Glitter to the top and set it aside to dry.

Next, I die cut the frame using a scrap piece of foiled gold paper. I then glue the frame to the stenciled glitter piece that I had trimmed down to fit the frame. 

Using the dies from the kit, I die cut two layers of the bottom half of the images using a white and black piece of cardstock. I then snipped the pieces off that I wasn't going to use leaving only the man, the bench, and the woman. I used Copic markers to color in the images and the floor. I then glued the images to the black layer to make the pieces sturdier. 

To create the box for the pop-up, I just measured the height of the floor, which was 7/8" inches. I then scored a black piece of cardstock that was 4 1/4" wide and scored it at 7/8" then at 1 1/4", then at 2 1/8" and again at 2 1/2", I then trimmed the paper at 3 inches. I then used a bone folder to crease the scorelines and glue the box together, ensuring that the box folded flat and that it made a perfect rectangle. Once the box was made I glued the tiled area of the die-cut piece to the front of the rectangle. Once the pop-up piece had dried I then glued it to the bottom of the front of the card base so that the box would fold upward. I then added the art piece with foam tape and centered it on the wall/card front.

To finish I used a sentiment from the kit that was stamped and heat embossed using Unicorn Pigment Ink and White Detail Embossing Powder.

As you can see from this next picture the card folds nicely into an envelope.

Easy Breezy Beach Inspired Friendship Cards | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my friends. Hope you are enjoying your last few weeks of Summer, so hard to believe the Fall is less than a month away!

Today I have cards that were super quick to put together and involve minimal stamping, and no coloring. These kinds of cards are perfect for those of you who prefer die-cutting over stamping and coloring.

CARD DETAILS

For all of my cards today I used background images that come from the BEACH VIBES Paper Pad, choosing the papers was probably the hardest part of making these cards, lol! Once I decided on the once papers, I trimmed them all to A2 card panel size.

For this specific card, I used the PALM FROND COVER PLATE to die cut a piece of Beige colored cardstock and then glued it on to the pattern paper.

Next, I die cut gold glitter foliage to add behind all the sentiments, using the TROPICAL BOUQUET DIES.  I then stamped and white heat embossed onto black cardstock all the sentiments from the SEA BREEZE stamp set and then die cut them with the coordinating SEA BREEZE DIES to use on all the cards.

Also on this card, I used a few of the gold HOT TROPICS GEM STICKERS along with some gold pearls.

For this next card, I used both the GARDEN LATTICE CP BASE and the GARDEN LATTICE CP TOP.

I kept this card super simple by just adding a few Monstera leaves from the TROPICAL BOUQUET DIES along with the sentiment and a few pearls.

This final card once again uses a pattern piece of paper from the BEACH VIBES PAPER PAD, this time I only used the GARDEN LATTICE CP TOP, and the rest of the was done as the previous ones only using different foliage and sentiment.

Paradise truly is a state of mind!

Looking at these cards make me feel calm, I just wished I lived closer to the beach. I hope these give you some inspiration for creating your cards using pattern paper.

I really love how these Easy Breezy Beach Inspired Friendship Cards turned out. I think the first one is my favorite but I do love them all. Let me know if you have a favorite in the comments below.

Easy Frameless Shaker Cards + Video + Giveaway | Got Joy Creations Holiday Card Series

Hello and welcome!

Today I am super excited to be Guest Designing for Dana's Got Joy Creation Holiday Card Series for 2019 by sharing a fun tutorial with you. I will show you a super-easy way to create shaker cards without any frame or foam, thus the Fameless Shaker Card. I’ve had this idea for the longest time and I am finally sharing with you how easy they are to put together.

I will keep this how to write up really brief on this post as it is easier to watch the video, plus to win today's GIVEAWAY (valued over $100 box of craft goodies) you'll have to leave comments on the YouTube Channels to qualify! Also, I share tons of my tips and tricks that I have learned along the way to make the card making process easier.

  CARD DETAILS

For my cards I used mostly products from Studio Katia, see links below for all the products I used.

I began with stamping out the images from the HAPPY SNOWMEN stamp set and then used the coordinating  HAPPY SNOWMEN dies to cut them out. I then colored them in using Copic Markers.

Next, I created my background panels by adding some MOONSTONE GLIMMER PASTE to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2” panels using the CONFETTI stencil.

To create the frameless shakers, I used a page protector and trimmed the plastic slightly larger than the card panel, leaving a 1/2 inch border around. I then trimmed off the corners of the plastic.

To the back of the card panel, I added strips of adhesive tape. I then added the shaker bits to the center of the plastic sheet and then placed the panel finished side down onto the plastic sheet. Next, I flipped up the flaps adhering then to the back of the panel, sealing in all the shaker pieces.

I then added the finished shaker fronts to the A2 card bases.

To finish off the cards I popped on the images I colored previously and embellished them by adding sparkle and shine wherever I could.
