Simple Happy BEE-Day Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Hello, my Friends. 

Today I am sharing a super simple shaker card that could be used for any occasion depending on the sentiment you chose, this one will be for someone's BEE-day!

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I stamped out the cute little bee from the HONEY BEES stamp set, colored it using Copic Markers, and then die cut it using the HONEY BEES coordinating dies.

Next, I stamped out the yellow pattern on the background using yellow ink and the ZIG ZAG STRIPES background stamp. I then die cut the panel using the outer frame from the SCALLOP HONEYCOMB COVER and I also die cut the window for the shaker area using the HONEYCOMB SHAKER. To the back of the panel, I glued a piece of ACETATE. 

I then ran a piece of black cardstock through the die cut machine using the HONEYCOMB SHAKER and used the honeycomb shape to glue on the top of the acetate window.

With the background panel flipped onto its front, I added FOAM TAPE around the perimeter of the shaker window and then sprinkled my shaker bits which included GOLD FEVER  CONFETTI and SPARKLING HEARTS CONF. GLITTER inside the well. To close in the shaker area I used a piece of yellow cardstock and then attached the finished panel to an A2 top fold card front.

To finish the card off, I added a sentiment strip from the PEONY TRIMMINGS DIES that I stamped with a sentiment from the HONEY BEE stamp set and then popped up the cute be in the corner.

Peony Trimmings Hexagon Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Hello Friends and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope you are all staying safe and enjoying some downtime with your family at home during this pandemic in this crazy world around us. If you are alone, make sure you are staying active on social media. This is a great time to be more social virtually. Hopefully, this virus will be contained soon so we can return to our usual life and the kids can go back to school. In the meantime, let's make the most of it and do our part to keep our families and our community safe by staying at home. Being a nurse I do have to go to work but will do my best to be safe when caring for my patients and hopefully not bring any virus home with me.

I don't have a St.Patty's day card to share but it is definitely Spring-inspired which gives me hope for the future. I cannot wait to see some color in my back yard and see the busy bees back at work in my garden.

  CARD DETAILS

To begin I stamped and white heat embossed the PEONY TRIMMINGS. I then colored them in using Arteza Brush pens. I then die cut the flowers with the coordinating PEONY TRIMMINGS dies.

Next, I die cut the background using the MICRO HEXAGON COVER and glued a CLEAR ACETATE SHEET to the back of the die-cut panel. To the background, I added a thin strip of foam tape along the perimeter to create the shaker area. I then added the MAJESTIC GLITTER and the IRIDESCENT CRYSTALS to the top of the card front base and glued down the Hexagon cover.

To finish up and embellish the card further, I added the cute little be from the HONEY BEES stamp and DIE set

The sentiment also comes from the PEONY TRIMMINGS that I then stamped onto a banner from the PEONY TRIMMINGS Die set.

For an added touch of shine, I added some IRIDESCENT BUBBLES in various sizes.

Honey Bee Hexagon Shaker Christmas Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Are you all ready for Christmas!? Can't BEE-lieve it is only a little of a week away 😬 How has this year just flown by... Haha, sorry I can't help myself with the Bee Punnies, lol! Well, today I wanted to take this opportunity as one of the Honey Bees and wish you all a very Merry and Bright Christmas as this will be my last Christmas Card for the year.

  CARD DETAILS

To begin this card, I stamped out the MERRY LIGHTS Stamp onto vellum paper and using Versafine Onyx Ink and then heat set the ink using black embossing powder. On the underside of the vellum, I used 3 Copic markers to color glow around each light. Next, I die cut the panel for the shaker portion of the card using the third largest Hexagon from the HEXAGON SOLID STACK CUTS. I then blended out the panel using 3 colors of distress oxide ink (see links below).

Now as you all know I am a little obsessed with making Frameless Shaker Cards and today I wanted to show you that it is possible to make these shakers any shape only this time I used vellum. I cut the stamped vellum piece a little larger than the hexagon panel that I had blended out. I then cut each corner off of the vellum hexagon piece and flipped back the vellum flaps to secure it to the back of the hexagon panel using Scor-tape. Before closing up the shaker pocket I filled it with BOKEH LIGHTS Confetti. To finish and embellish the shaker pocket, I added coordinating Crystal Drops to each Christmas Light bulb and set it off to dry. To continue the Honey Bee theme, I stamped out the cute little bees from BEE HIVE, colored them with Copics and then cut them out with the Coordinating BEE HIVE DIES. To each little bee, I added glossy accents to the body and Liquid Pixie Dust to the wings.

To make the Card Base I die cut the largest Hexagon from the HEXAGON SOLID STACK CUTS and then created a hinge to glue the two pieces together. I also die cut a pink and yellow Hexagon in decreasing size to layer on the card front.

On the inside, I stamped out Christmas Wishes by using both the BELIEVE BUZZ WORD and the WINTER stamp sets. I then added another little bee and trail from the BEE HIVE to finish off this cute little Bee themed Christmas Shaker Card.
