Hello My Friend Card | Picket Fence Studios October Release

Hello Friends, yes I am back with another card today! 2 posts in one day... feast or famine around here, lol!

This time I’m excited to share this sweet friendship card I made using some of the fabulous products from the new Picket Fence Studios October 2024 Release! This card is also part of an Instagram hop, where TWO lucky winners will be chosen! One winner will receive a $50 Gift Card, and the other will win a Paper Pouncers Bundle! 🎁 

It was a joy combining these new and older items to create a heartfelt “hello, my friend” card, perfect for sending love and connection to a dear friend.

Card Details:

Heart Cover Plate Background:
To start, I used the Beyond Basics A2 Rectangle and Cover Plate Dies, choosing the heart cover plate layer for the background. The delicate, repeated heart pattern adds a whimsical and heartwarming touch to the card. For a pop of color, I die-cut this layer in white cardstock and backed it with a beautiful blue panel created with Huckleberry Paper Glaze. This contrast of blue with white really highlights the hearts!

Adorable Critters:

The sweet little critters are from the Baby Critters Stamps and Dies set (an older Picket Fence Studios product). I stamped and colored these cuties, giving them soft, warm tones with Copic markers to add extra cuteness. I adhered them to the card with foam adhesive for dimension, placing them above the sentiment. To make the critters even more lovable, I added a tiny pink heart die-cut between them, fitting perfectly into one of the heart openings from the cover plate.

Lovely Sentiment Layers:
For the sentiment, I used two different die sets to create a layered greeting. The bold "hello" is from the Hello To You Word Die Set (older product), cut in black and adhered to a layer of vellum for softness. Below that, I added "my friend" using the Cheers My Friend Word Die Set from this new release. The combination of these two word dies makes for a friendly and inviting sentiment that anchors the card.

Background Layers:
For the base layer, I used Yellow Primerose Paper Glaze, which brings in a soft, glowing yellow hue. It gives a cheerful, sunny vibe to the card and plays nicely with the Huckleberry Paper Glaze. I love how the paper glazes create a smooth and polished look while offering rich, bold color.

Sparkling Finishing Touches:
No card is complete without a little sparkle! I used Thunderstorm Gems scattered around the cover plate layer to add a bit of shine and bling. These gems catch the light beautifully, enhancing the overall card design without overpowering the sentiment or critters.

This card is a sweet way to send a heartfelt greeting, and the new products from the Picket Fence Studios October Release made it easy and fun to create! I hope this card inspires you to craft your own projects and connect with friends through the art of cardmaking.

CARD RECIPE

BACKGROUND

• Die cut a cardstock panel using the Crafty Meraki Speckled Canopy Background A2
• Remove the negative pieces
• Add foam behind the panel and adhere it to an A2 size card base

CARD FRONT

• Die cut the pieces for the Crafty Meraki Artisan Flora Lily Para-Dies
• For the Lily petals ink blend the centers with yellow ink, and mid petals use pink ink and blue ink for the tips. This will create a little rainbow gradient. To the leaves add some green ink for shading. For the stamen, I used a yellow copic and colored the ends and then glued on a layer of prisma sparkle.
• Glue and piece the layers together. Use thin foam for added dimension
• To the center of the lily, I used a black and white gel pen to add the dotted details
• Die cut the basket and the terrarium of the Crafty Meraki Artisan Flora Add On Terrarium Para-Dies, to create a planter for the arrangement cut off the top pieces of the terrarium and glue them together
• Arrange the flowers in the planter and glue them to the card front. Use foam to elevate as needed.

FINISHING TOUCHES

• To add a sentiment I cut a thin strip using the same card stock for the planter. To the top of the strip, I glued a sentiment banner stamped using a sentiment from the Crafty Meraki Love Potion Stamp set
• Glue the sentiment strip in place
• Finish by adding some bling using Meraki Sparkle Golden Illusion to the top of the banner and the planter. To pick up and glue the embellishments use the Bling Buddy Embellishment Wand tool.

Hello Shaker Card | Picket Fence Studios

Greetings, my crafty friends!

I'm thrilled to present the cutest shaker card featuring the Picket Fence May Release. If you love shakers and enjoy exploring various card techniques, this creation is for you! CARD RECIPE

BACKGROUND

• Add a card panel to the Paper Inking Palette - 10x10
• Place the Rainbow Dreams 6x8 Stencil over the card panel
• Add Rose Red Paper Glaze Glass and Sea Glass Blue Paper Glaze to the top of the stencil
• Using a paper scraper or palette knife, drag down the paper glazes over the panel, blending the two glazes in the middle to create a blend of the two colors 
• Set aside to dry

SHAKER

• Die cut the front of the Shaker Panel using the A2 Saying Hello Cover Plate Die
• Glue a piece of acetate to the back of the A2 Saying Hello Cover Plate Die to create the window
• Add a thin strip of foam tape along the outer edge of the A2 Saying Hello Cover Plate Die
• Once the background is dry, Sprinkle Speed of Light Gems and Sequin Mix - Iridescent Moonshine on the center of the panel
• Remove the protective layer from the foam tape and attach the shaker front to the background
• Glue shaker onto the card base

CARD FRONT

• Stamp out the critter images from the Baby Critters Stamp Set using Black Hybrid Ink Pad
• Color images in 
• Die cut using coordinating Baby Critters Dies
• Die cut the Hello from the Hello to You Word Dies using Black Glitter paper
• Glue Hello to the card front
• Add foam to the back of the critter and glue in place

INSIDE 

• Stamp out the sentiment from the Swanky Sentiments - Sympathy Stamps using Black Hybrid Ink Pad
• Optional, add an additional critter to the bottom of the panel

Spring Hello Card - 3D Blackout Embossing Folder Technique | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my friends, and Happy Easter Monday!

Have you checked out the Celebrate Release from Honey Bee Stamps yet!? It is to date my favorite release! Lots of  Spring and birthday-themed awesomeness. Plus some pretty cool tools, including the shaker pockets inspired by me! 👧

For my card today I had to try again the 3D Blackout Embossing Folder Technique I shared a few weeks ago, this time using the new Sandie's Garden - 3D Embossing Folder. If you aren't the best colorist or have visual issues (like me🙋) and prefer ink blending, this is an easy way to color a background. 

CARD RECIPE

Remember the cool tools I mentioned earlier, well now Honey Bee has new Beeluxe Detail Blending Brushes! They come in sizes 5, 7, and 10 and are angled to blend into all the small creases and crevasses, making them ideal for a detailed project like this one!

• Place a piece of watercolor cardstock between the Sandie's Garden - 3D Embossing Folder. I gave it a light mist before running it through an embossing/die-cutting machine. The water just helps mold the paper and prevents any tearing.
• Add ink to the recessed side/debossed side of the embossed design. I used the new Beeluxe Detail Blending Brushes and distress oxide inks. Don't worry too much about getting a perfect blend or leaving some white areas.

• Rub a juicy black ink pad all over the colored recessed side of the panel. In hindsight, I would have used a Bristol Paper rather than the watercolor one I used to make the surface smoother for the ink application. That just means I will have to try this technique again, lol 😉
• Trim down the panel. This finished card measures 5x7.
• Glue to the largest Scallop A7 Frame. 

• Wrap coordinating ribbon across the bottom of the card and secure ends to the back using tape.
• Glue panel onto a side folding A7 Card Base.
• Stamp out the sentiment from the Storybook Spring stamp set using a matching ink color. I then heat-set it using clear embossing powder.
• Die cut using coordinating Storybook Spring - Honey Cuts.
• Add coordinating gems from the Let's Party Gem Stickers.
• Finish by adding white pen details.
