The card has a 3D bridge design with an arched window decorated with poinsettias, holly, and icicles, along with a Christmas tree inside adorned with red pearl stickers as ornaments. Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m excited to share a special Christmas card featuring some beautiful new products from Honey Bee Stamps’ Cozy Christmas release. Inspired by Jennifer McGuire, I created this dimensional bridge card with a cozy winter window scene, perfect for spreading holiday cheer.

And there’s more exciting news! This card is part of an Instagram hop with two $50 gift cards up for grabs! Head over to my Instagram page to hop along and enter for a chance to win.

SUPPLIES

  • Lovely Layers: Window - Honey Cuts (Window and Balcony)
  • Lovely Layers: Window Holiday Add-On - Honey Cuts (Christmas Details)
  • Wonder Of Christmas Stamp Set (Sentiment)
  • Wonder Of Christmas - Honey Cuts (Sentiment Dies)
  • Wood Planks - 3D Embossing Folder (Embossed Background Details)
  • Gingerbread - Pearl Stickers (Christmas Balls)
  • Fine Prisma Glitter and Chunky Glitter (for the snowy details)
  • Inks - Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Inks (ink blending), Picked Raspberry Distress Ink (sentiment)
  • Dimension - Glossy Accents (balls) Foam Dots (elevate window)
  • How to Create This Card

    Creating the Bridge Card Base
To start, I cut a piece of cardstock to 5.5 x 5.5 inches for the card base. I then scored each side at the 1-inch mark and again at 1.75 inches on each side. This scoring creates the bridge card structure, which stands up beautifully and folds flat for easy mailing. After folding along the score lines, I set it aside while preparing the other elements.

    Embossed Background Panel
I wanted the background to resemble the outside of a cozy, snow-covered house, so I used the Wood Planks - 3D Embossing Folder to add woodgrain texture to a piece of cardstock. Before cutting this panel to fit each layer of the card base, I lightly ink-blended Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink over the embossed areas. This added a touch of depth and helped the texture pop! I then cut and attached the embossed background panels to the various layers of the card base, creating a complete and cohesive scene.

The card has a 3D bridge design with an arched window decorated with poinsettias, holly, and icicles, along with a Christmas tree inside adorned with red pearl stickers as ornaments. A white brick embossed background enhances the cozy look, with a glittery snow effect on the roof. The sentiment reads 'Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night' in festive red script.

    Building the Window Scene
The centerpiece of this card is, of course, the beautiful window scene. I die-cut the window and balcony using the Lovely Layers: Window - Honey Cuts. The intricate details of the balcony add so much elegance, while the layered design of the window provides a realistic, cozy look. For the Christmas decor, I used the Lovely Layers: Window Holiday Add-On dies, which include holly leaves, poinsettias, and other festive elements to adorn the window and balcony.

    Adding Snowy and Sparkly Details
To bring a touch of winter magic, I used a combination of Fine Prisma Glitter on the lights and Chunky Glitter along the icicles and window trim, creating the look of fresh snow. The shimmer adds such a festive touch! The Christmas balls on the tree were created using Gingerbread Pearl Stickers, giving the appearance of ornaments that reflect the warm glow from the inside.

    Adding the Sentiment
I used the Wonder Of Christmas Stamp Set for the sentiment, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night," and die cut it with the coordinating Wonder Of Christmas - Honey Cuts. I love how this sentiment ties together the cozy, classic Christmas vibe of the card.

    6. Assembling the Card
Once all the pieces were ready, I adhered the window edges to each side of the bridge card base. This allowed the window to "pop" as the focal point of the card and gave the design a three-dimensional look.

This card stands up nicely, making it perfect for displaying, but it also folds flat, which is great for mailing. I love how this cozy Christmas window scene turned out – it’s almost like peeking into a festive winter night!

Christmas Cardinal Scene Pop-Up Frame Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Christmas, Cardinal, Scene, Pop-Up, Frame, Card,Honey Bee Stamps, Jingle Bells,Jennifer McGuire Inspired,Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to,

Hello, my friends, and happy Monday. To all my American friends, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I am thankful for YOU!

Today I have a special card inspired by the amazing Jennifer McGuire. She shared this Pop-Up Frame technique a few months ago and I thought it was brilliant and had to give it a try with the gorgeous Make It Merry Release from Honey Bee Stamps.

    CARD RECIPE

    • To create the pop-up, I cut 2 pieces of paper that measured 5.5x1 inches and scored them at every 1/4 inch. Then accordion fold each piece and glue them to the sides of the back of the frame. These will create the springs for the pop-up card.
    • For the background, I used the Kaleidoscope 3D Embossing Folder and then added some splatters using the Bee Shimmery Liquid

    • Glue the springs onto the background, and once dry add the background to a card base.
    • Stamp the greeting from the Home for the Holidays set in white ink and heat set it.
    • Pop it onto the card front.

The cool thing about these pop-ups is that they do press down nicely and can be mailed. This one is a bit bulky so I am sure it will require extra postage.

I hope you were inspired by my Christmas Cardinal Scene Pop-Up Frame Card. Thank you to my uber-talented friend Jennifer McGuire for this inspiration. I am sure I will be making more of these pop-ups in the future!

Thanks for stopping by and until next time... Happy Crafting!

You are Purrrfect | Window Scene Bridge Card | Honey Bee Stamps

You are Purrrfect Window Scene Bridge Card for Honey Bee Stamps by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

    Hello, my Friends!

Today I have the most PURRRfect card to share with you. I am so pleased with how darling this card turned out and I hope it inspires you. I had been wanting to create a bridge card ever since watching Jennifer McGuire create some in one of her recent videos. Seriously where would we be without her genius mind and inspiration!?

Also, just in case you haven't heard, this week Honey Bee Stamps is having a SALE on their Patterned Paper, Enamel Dots, and Gems.  Save 10% by using the code, PATTERN10

My project today features papers from the SPRING FLING PAPER PAD.

      CARD DETAILS

So let's talk about this card, there are a lot of pieces and components to putting this one together. But hopefully, I can explain how to replicate something like this. I would have loved to have recorded a video to go along with this, but time is not on my side these days so instead, I have taken step-by-step photos to hopefully clarify things for you all.

You are Purrrfect Window Scene Bridge Card for Honey Bee Stamps by ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com

The first thing I did was to sketch out what I wanted the card to look like.  I then began by using the window frame from the COTTAGE WINDOW Honey Cuts to guide the rest of the card. See the images below for the measurements and how the finished pieces came together.

This is what it should look like with the die cut window frame in place.

I then cut a piece of acetate large enough to cover the entire opening and glue it in place. This is the piece that I will use to finish off the card front.

TIP: Since the top and bottom of the frame are really thin in width covering the entire area helps to reinforce the structure.

To cover the background of the card I glued a piece of patterned cardstock cut to 3  ¼” x 4  ¼” that comes from the SPRING FLING PAPER PAD.

I also added another strip of paper across the bottom to create another layer to the scene and is where I will glue the kitten to. The strip measures ½” x 4 inches and each end scored at the ⅜” mark and glued in place as shown above.

As you can see from the picture below I also added a panel to add my greeting on the back of the card. I simply created a card base that was cut to 3 ¼” by 8 ½” then scored at the 4 ½” mark. I then glued the front of the card base to the back of the popped out window.

Here's another look. The added card base also works well for displaying the card as it acts as a stand for this bridge card.

Now that you know how to put the card base together with all the measurements I will explain all the little details that were added. I left off the top of the card until I was completely done gluing all the details and piece to it until the very end. This just made it easier to work with.

To begin, I stamped out the cat and the butterflies from the OH MY WHISKERS stamp set using Fadeout ink and then colored them in with Copic markers. I then used a white and black gel pen to add details to the images. I also used the coordinating OH MY WHISKERS HONEY CUTS to die cut them out.

Next, I die cut the pieces for the flower box using the flowers from the BUNCH OF BOUQUETS HONEY CUTS set. I used it white cardstock to die cut them and then use Copic markers to color them in.

The next thing I did was die cut the rest of the pieces for the cottage window using white card stock. For the curtains, I used pattern paper that also came from the SPRING FLING PAPER PAD. I just love how the patterned paper adds so much detail to the scene with very little effort.

To the window shutters, I blended out Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink and glued them to each side of the Bridge card panels using foam tape to pop them up. I then glued the frame to the top of the acetate. Next, I glued in place the window box and valence that I had added some Copic marker shadowing too. I also added the little butterflies in place using some foam tape.

To the other side of the window, on the backside of the front panel, I glued the curtains in place starting with the top valence and then the side curtains with matching patterned piece of paper.

I then positioned the card front onto the bridge card base without gluing the pieces together and figured out where to glue down the kitten in place on the strip I had added prior ensuring that you could see him peaking through the window.

The last thing I did was stamp out the "you're purrrfect" greeting from the PURRRFECT SENTIMENTS stamp set and then die cut it with the coordinating dies.

The best part of these bridge cards is that they have so much dimension and detail to them and yet they fold flat for delivery! How awesome it that!?!

I absolutely adore how cute this card turned out! I hope that you will give this window version of a bridge card a try. They definitely are a little more work but they are a true labor of love as I am sure the recipient will appreciate.

Thank you for stopping by 😊
Until next time... Happy Crafting 👋
