Christmas Present Card Set | My Monthly Hero Kit for NOVEMBER 2021 | Hero Arts

Hello, my friends!

I am back again today with a second blog post, this time for my first post as an official team member of the Hero Arts Global Team! YAY!!!💃

My cards feature the My Monthly Hero Kit for NOVEMBER 2021 which is already SOLD OUT! What!?! Can you believe it?! Wow, that went fast, so I hope you were one of the lucky ones to get your hands on one. Also, remember there are the Awesome Add-Ons that are still available! I will be sharing a few more cards throughout the month using them as well. So let's get on with sharing these fun cards.

The idea behind this card set was to make the cards look like Christmas presents. All the cards came together using the same process, I will explain the first card and then share the differences along the way so I am not repeating myself.

For this first card, I pieced together the Santa. 

• To his hat, I used pieces of white glitter paper. 
• Stamped the sentiment on his hat using Intensified Black Ink. 
• Added color to his nose and cheeks using RV10 Copic marker.
• Added white gel pen details, and drew tiny eyelashes with a black detail pen.
• Tied the Holiday Twine onto the Hat Loop.

For the card base and panel.

• Stamp the Merry Christmas Sentiment on the card panel using Versamark Ink.
• Then rub the surface of the card using perfect pearls confetti white to give it a hint of shine.
• Trim a couple of pieces of white glitter paper cardstock to create the illusion of the ribbon tied onto the present (whatever width you like). 
• Trim panel. 
• Pop Santa over where the area the "ribbon" crosses on the bow.
• Attach to the card base using a foam tape layer.

For the Snowman, the only unique difference here is that I used the inside earpiece of the deer antler die-cut to create a nose for "Frosty".

To the background, I used the lined stamp to stamp out the line on a green piece of cardstock using the Green Apple Mini Reactive Ink. 

For the Reindeer Card, I stamped the background again with the Dots stamp with Versmark Ink and added the Perfect Pearls over top. For the "ribbon" I used silver glitter cardstock.

To the nose, I added some Glossy Accents and then sprinkled Fine Glitter over the top while it was still wet. The antlers also have a layer of glitter using the Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen.

And finally last Elf Card. The difference here is in the background as I used both stamps and two different colors.

Added details include gold and silver gelly pen details, and white gem stickers to the points on the hat.

Just Breathe Encouragement Card | Penguin Palace & Ink On 3 Collaboration

Hello again, 

I am back with another card I created as part of a collaboration Hop between Inkon3 and Penguin Palace Stamps which is happening over on👉 Instagram. We teamed up to celebrate the Penguin Palace's 3rd Anniversary! Here is how this card came together.

• Stamp the Legend of The Koi fish first using the outline stamp with Blackout Ink onto Bristol Paper.
• Next line up the detail stamp layer over the fish you just stamped out, this time use Fadeout Ink. 
• Watercolor in the images by using  Sweet Petunia, Bee Sting Yellow, and Peacock Blue Atelier Inks. Overlap the colors to create the rainbow blend.
• To add sparkle I added a layer of Liquid Pixie Dust over the painted layer.
• I then used the coordinating Legend of the Koi - Penguin Perfect Cuts to die cut the fish.
• On another piece of white cardstock, I used the same inks I used above to watercolor but this time to ink blend and create a rainbow area. 
• Stamp the Breathe Stamp from the Words From The Heart (Chapter 1) stamp set over the rainbow blended spot using Blackout Ink.
• Die-cut the Breathe using the Words From The Heart Coordinating Cuts.
• Glue the Breathe sentiment to the card front.
• Pop the fish in place using foam tape. For an added layer of thickness, I glued the fish onto another die-cut piece.
• Finish the card by adding a few bubble embellishments.

Hope this Just Breathe Encouragement Card inspired you today and reminds you that it is ok to take a break, stop, relax, do nothing and just Breathe. Especially with all that is going on in the world right now, it's OK! People are more understanding than you realize because after all we all need and deserve a break from time to time😉

Chinese New Year Galaxy Card - Penguin Palace & Ink On 3 Collaboration

Here is how this card came together.

• Ink blend the background using Peacock Blue Atelier Ink, & Paint it Black Atelier Ink. To make the blending easier start with a blue cardstock panel.
• Using the Stencils 360°™ Starter Kit with the Starry Spiral Stencils 360°™ I used Shark Tooth White Atelier Ink to add the blended stars in the background. 
• Add splatters using Shark Tooth White Atelier Re-Inker diluted with a little water.
• Once the panel is completely dry, use an antistatic powder bag to cover the surface and prep it for heat embossing.
• Stamp out the sentiments from the Legend of The Koi stamp set using Juicy Ink.
• Then use Gold Rush Emb. Powder to heat set the sentiment.

• Finish the card by adding star embellishments. I used Glow in the dark Mini Stars and Iridescent Stars for extra detail and fun!

Hope you got some inspiration from today's Chinese New Year Galaxy Card. It makes me think of one of my best friends, who was Chinese that I lost earlier this year to Cancer. Actually, now that I think about it, it was 6 months to the day today 😭 She was the one person I would always wish Happy Chinese New Year too. I really miss her 💙 but I know she is up in the sky (somewhere in the Galaxy maybe) and will receive my message!

Snowmie Holiday Cards | Tonic Studios Stamp Club Release Hop

Hello Friends, and Happy Friday! 

It is time for another Tonic Stamp Club Release Blog Hop and this time is all about the cutest Snowmies!!! Perfect for the upcoming winter and Holiday Season!

If you have already joined the hop you should have arrived from Iliana's Blog.  I will link the complete hop list and giveaway details near the end of this post. I have 3 projects to share today so let's get started.

Here is a closer look at this month's Snowmie Stamp and Die Bundle. Plus this month you get a FREE coordinating Snowmie Stencil with your purchase!

Both my cards today are Mini Slimline sized 3x6 inches. This first one features the adorable Rainbow-inspired Snowmie Family sending warm Holiday Wishes.

To make this card I began by stamping out the images, coloring them in with Copic markers, and then die-cutting them out with the coordinating dies. The rainbow dotted tree was inspired by my friend Bobbi, who is an amazing colorist and I thought this was a fun and unique way to add color to the tree. 

I then blended onto a mini slimline panel Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Inks and then spritzed the background with water and picked up the droplets with a paper towel to lift some of the ink. This just adds to the snowy effect. 

Another thing I did was to create a Snow Bokeh stencil by using 3 circle dies from the Slimline Envelope Creator Die Set, and blended white pigment ink over the top part of the panel. Slightly overlapping the circles to create the bokeh effect. Look closely at the sky part for them they are faint but there for extra detail. 

To the background, I applied a layer of falling snow using Worn Linen Expanding Mousse.

The sentiment was stamped in white pigment ink and embossed in white onto black cardstock. Then the rest was to glue all the elements in place. The snowflakes come from the die set. The really fun thing about these die sets is that they come with so many extra dies to stretch out the possibilities!

My favorite part of carmaking is adding embellishments and finishing details. The crystals on the snowflake centers, the white gel pen details, the glossy accents on the nose and buttons, and the chunky glitter on the tree along the bottom of the card. Yes adding these take a little more time but they are what makes your card stand out!

I am in love with this next rainbow-inspired cutie! What is it about rainbows that just make you happy?! I can't explain it but whatever it is I know it is why I do it! Rainbows bring me joy and it is why it is my favorite color!

This next mini slimline was done exactly the same as the previous card only in a vertical layout. Obviously, the images are different but the techniques were the same. To this sky, I added Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink along the top and I left the bottom white to give it the snow illusion. 

 

This time, rather than using snowflake die-cuts I stamped them in white onto the background. 

The bottom sentiment snow hill panel I added was a happy mistake. I actually stamped a different sentiment underneath on the card panel which wasn't the stamp I had wanted to use. So to cover it up I created a hill for the sled to sit on and added the new sentiment instead.  

Did you notice the mini slimline envelope I placed under each of the cards? They come with the two pierced plate designs and fit these cards perfectly as they measure 3.5x6.5 inches. These envelopes are part of the new also just released Slimline Envelope Creator Die Set. They also come with a bunch of tag builder dies. So I thought it would be fun to make a bunch of Christmas rainbow gift tags. 

If you look closely each tag was either finished using the coordinating Snowmie Stencil or I used the pierced plates from the Slimline Envelope Creator Die Set to add details. I also added the For You and the snowflakes that were die cut using holographic cardstock. Under each colored tag is another white tag with a pierced edging so that you can write who the gift is for.

3D Christmas Tree Flat Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my friends!

Today's 3D Christmas Christmas Tree Shaker card is part of the Honey Bee Stamps Vintage Holiday Release Instagram Hop. I hope you can join us →there and leave a comment to qualify for two $25 Gift Cards to their shop.

This card is a bit of an oxymoron. It has 3D elements along with a flat shaker window, but the trees do fold flat to fit in an envelope. I will also share a Reel on Instagram where I show you what that looks like later today.

CARD RECIPE

• Dry emboss the snowflake design using the Pierced Fancy Flakes Cover Plate onto a card panel using white cardstock.
• Trim off the edges of the panel. (This isn't necessary but I wanted to create a smaller frame to glue to the card front).
• Build your shaker pocket. 
• Cut plastic/acetate slightly larger than the panel. 
• Cut off corners.
• Fold sides flaps down and adhere in behind with double-sided tape, leaving one side open.  
• Pour in shaker bits I used Blizzard Confetti Mix (Glitter, flat sequins, or confetti work best to keep down the bulk and they slide around better with limited space).
• Adhere the remaining flap down to close the shaker pocket.
• Add the shaker pocket to the front panel of the card base. I used foam tape, but not necessary if you want to make it flat.
• Use either scrap plastic from packaging, acetate, or a premade shaker pocket. I used packaging plastic this time. If you want to see how I created the first-ever frameless/edge to edge/infinity/flat shaker card watch this video I made a few years ago→ HERE.

• Cut four layers for each tree using the Pine Tree Dies (Largest and smallest were used here).
• Used a scoring board and score each tree down the middle. 
• Fold each tree.
• Add a line of liquid adhesive down the middle score line of each layer. Glue scored edge of the next tree down. Repeat until the last tree is glued to the top. Allow them to dry completely before fluffing.
• Add gems or embellish as desired.

• Die-cut the Merry Christmas greeting from Bitty Buzzwords: Holidays Dies I glued four layers together to give it that chipboard thickness and look.
• Finish off by gluing the elements to the card front.

I hope you were inspired by this 3D Christmas Tree Flat Shaker Card. I had so much fun making it. This technique will work with many other die cuts to create the 3D effect. I hope you give it a try!
