Masculine Travel Themed Birthday Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends!

Crafting a unique and personalized birthday card can be a delightful journey, especially when it reflects the recipient's interests. This card was made for my husband who loves travelling an exploring the new places. Our next adventure will be taking our family to New YorkCity. Cant wait!

Today, I’m sharing a tutorial for this masculine travel-themed birthday card featuring Honey Bee Stamps supplies. This card is perfect for any adventurous spirit who loves to explore the world.

CARD RECIPE

Prepare the Card Base: 

• Start with a standard A7 card base. I did end up trimming about 1/4" off the top an bottom of the finished panel.

 Create the Background:

• Stamp the Aviator Stamp images using Bee Creative Brilliant White Pigment Ink to create a subtle, white heat-embossed background on a kraft panel. Trim and glue to a coordinating colored background panel once the circles are diecut in the next step.  

Build the Focal Point:

• Use the Sweet Stacks: Circles Dies to cut a circles from the center of the Aviator Stamped images piece. And another circle for the background layer. Glue the stamped layer onto the solid background colored layer. This will create an elevated focal point of the card.
• Die cut the "Time to Go" sentiment using the Time to Go Postcard Dies from both white and black card stock. Glue the black layer onto the white layer, slightly shifted to create a shadow layer. Add glossy accents to give it a shiny, dimensional finish. Set aside.
• Select a pattern piece from the Grab Your Passport Paper Pad featuring travel tickets and cut them out. Organize the ticket layout around the opening of the card front. Glue them in place, use foam to elevate and create dimension on some of the tickets.
• Adhere the finished Time to Go circle die cut to the card base using Black Foam Dots 1/4" for dimension.

Add Finishing Touches:

• Embellish the front with Grab Your Passport Gem Stickers to add a touch of sparkle.
• Use a punch tool and add an eyelet to one of the tickets. I used the NYC one as that is where we are going next and added a piece of twine to the top with a simple knot.

Finisih the Inside:

• Stamp the inside sentiments from the Plane Awesome Stamps set using the Bee Creative Intense Black Ink Pad. The sentiment “Let the adventure begin. Wishing you an adventurous birthday” perfectly complements the travel theme.

Suitcase Birthday Wishes Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my friends!

Today's card couldn't be more fitting. My husband surprised me last week for my birthday with a trip starting in Nashville, Tennessee, and ending in Asheville, North Carolina. He had this trip planned since December and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go as I have been dealing with a herniated disc in my back since January. Thankfully I have come a long way with lots of physio and rehab. This trip was just what I needed both physically and mentally as these past 6 months have not been the easiest for me. Hopefully, my 48th year will be a better one!🤞

Paper - Grab Your Passport Paper Pad

Frame 1 - Lovely Layouts: Posted - Dies

Frame 2 - Lovely Layouts: Party Frames - Honey Cuts

Frame 3 - Sweet Stacks: Rectangles

Suitcases - Lovely Layers: Small Suitcases Dies

Flowers - Lovely Layers: Globe Dies

Sentiment - Plane Awesome Stamps 

Ink - Bee Creative Intense Black Ink Pad and Ground Expresso Distress Oxide Ink

Tools - Ink Blender Brushes

Pearls - Travel Pearl Stickers

• Begin by die-cutting and assembling the Lovely Layers: Small Suitcases Dies
• For a fun detail, I added white stitched lines all around the suitcases using a gel pen
• Die-cut the largest frame using the Lovely Layouts: Posted - Dies and paper from Grab Your Passport Paper Pad
• The next frame comes from the Lovely Layouts: Party Frames - Honey Cuts. Add foam to the back and glue to the previous frame

• Die-cut the smallest frame using the Sweet Stacks: Rectangles, add ink blending to the edges to distress the paper, and give it a vintage vibe.
• Stamp the sentiment out using Plane Awesome Stamps in Bee Creative Intense Black Ink
• Add foam to the back of the suitcases and arrange them onto the card front.
• Glue the die-cut flowers from the Lovely Layers: Globe Dies in place
• Add the Travel Pearl Stickers to the center of the flowers

• Ink blend the background using the Road Map Stencil and Distress Oxides - Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Broken China
• Die-cut layers of clouds for the bottom of the card, leaving space for a sentiment from the Plane Awesome Stamps
• Add the die cuts plane and hearts from the Lovely Layers: Globe Dies
• Using a black fine-tip marker add the trail using the Air Traffic Stencil
• Finish by adding some Travel Pearl Stickers to the Road map

Scenic Snapshot Clean and Simple Cards | Spellbinders

Happy November friends!

Wow, I still can't believe how quickly this year has flown. Today I have a few cards to share with you featuring a few of the sets from the Scenic Snapshots Collection. I think these cards are perfect for someone who loves to travel or maybe even a retirement card.

CARD DETAILS

Sometimes, especially when it comes to small die-cut pieces I like to cheat a little. Rather than die-cutting each piece out of different cardstock, I like to die cut everything out of white cardstock and then color it. I find this saves me so much time, plus the results you get are very different as you can add dimension and layers in your coloring.

For this first card, I ran the dies from the SPRINGTIME SCENIC SNAPSHOTS through the die machine using Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then used Copic markers to color each piece in.

Next, I die cut a circle from the panel that will be the card front. I then used a few Distress Oxide inks to blend out the colors on the background. Tumbled Glass for the sky and Mowed Lawn for the grass.

To make the scene fit within the circle I ran the treeline die cut along with the same circle die to trim off the edges.

I then pieced and glued all the die-cut pieces onto the circle cut out.

Before gluing the scene in place, I stamped the sentiment from the WILD AND FREE stamp set along the die-cut circle edge by curving the stamp in my positioner.

For this next card, I repeated the same exact process as my previous card. Once again using Copics on the die-cut pieces and Distress Oxide Inks on the background.

Difficult to see in the picture, but the stars moon and the snow are sparkly as I added a layer of Liquid Pixie Dust to them.

This sentiment also comes from the WILD AND FREE stamp set, it is such a great stamp set to have for the traveler in your life.
