Angel Paw Sympathy Card

Recently a friend of mine lost her fur baby, and I just had to make her a sympathy card 💙😢

I can't imagine how hard that must be as I have yet to experience that emotion as a fur mom. I pray that won't happen any time soon. 

I had an idea of what I wanted to make but no specific dies to make them. So I searched through my stash and this is what I came up with. I love how it turned out and hope you do too.

Water Lily Sympathy Card | Adventure Awaits Release | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, dear friends!

Today, I want to share a stunning sympathy card that features the exquisite Lovely Layers Water Lily from the Adventure Awaits Release by Honey Bee Stamps.

CARD RECIPE

To start, I began by crafting the transparent section of the card using vellum and applying glimmer paste through the Fish Net Stencil. While that dried, I focused on creating the other elements of the card.

For the Water Lily, I die-cut the pieces from white card stock and added color through ink blending. Then, I assembled the lily using foam to achieve a dimensional effect. To enhance the flower's center, I applied glue and sprinkled chunky glitter for a touch of sparkle. Additionally, I used a green Copic marker to create shadows and add detail to the lily pad.

 

To create an opaque window, I utilized the Sweet Stacks Ovals to die-cut a shimmery vellum background from the panel I had created earlier. Next, I die-cut a smaller oval on the front of the card base. By using both sizes of the oval dies, I created a frame and adhered it first to the vellum layer and then attached it to the card's front.

For the sentiments I used the "With Our Love" plate from the Foil Script: Wishes Hot Foil Plate/Dies done in Sky Bright Glimmer Foil and add the "With Sympathy" sentiment from the Mini Messages Stamps that I stamped onto a Mini Messages Dies Banner die.

January 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit | Sympathy Card | Hero Arts

Hello friends, feels like it's been too long since my last post. Life has been a bit crazy and my precious crafty time has been limited. Hopefully, that will get better soon.

My card today features the January 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts. This kit is so beautiful and could be used for so many different occasions.

Ironically the timing of this kit arrived when I needed it the most. Sadly, a friend and colleague of mine just lost her newborn baby to SIDS. We are all mourning the loss of her firstborn baby boy at work. I pray for her and her family during these difficult times and can only imagine the heartbreak they must be going through.

In honor of her baby boy, I created this card to give to her and her family as they lay his little body to rest today.

To stamp the leaves, I used Splash and Blue Hawaii Ink cubes. The branch, swing, and sentiment were stamped out using Cup O'Joe Ink. The dark brown shade was done using Root Beer ink.

For the sunset background, I ink blended Lemon Drop, Berry Smoothie, and Splash Reactive Inks together. 

I used foam to add dimension in between the layers and finished off this card with a little bit of bling using blue gemstone stickers.

I hope this card inspired you today. I'm sorry that this was kind of a depressing post. Hopefully, you won't be in need of a sympathy card soon.

Does Some Bunny Need a Hug Card - Guest Designer for Whimsy Stamps

Hello there, today I have the pleasure of guest designing for Whimsy Stamps.
As soon as I saw this cute little Hugs Bunny set, I just knew I had to add it to my collection. I find hugs always make things better, especially when it comes to my kids. But, many times even adults need a hug too, especially when times are tough or someone just had a rough day. I'm pretty sure this set is going to be very loved.

To make this card, I started by stamping out the bear and bunny image on a piece of watercolor paper, using Blackout ink. I then masked the images and stamped out one of the wreaths from the Farm House Wreath set. Then I colored the images in using Tombow Dual Brush markers and blended the colors out with a water brush. The sentiment was stamped out using a white pigment ink on black cardstock, and then I heat set with white embossing powder. Finished the card by adhering the panel to an A2 top folding card and then added some sequins, Wink of Stella sparkle and glossy accents as a finishing touch.

I love how simple and sweet this card turned out and hope you did too. One of the hardest kinds of cards I find to make are sympathy cards, yet I think a card think this would be perfect just by changing out the sentiment.
