Elegant Floral Ornament Shaker Cards | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my dearest friends, and Happy Monday!

Guess what!? I got my Christmas decorations up this past weekend. What do you all think? Too soon? For me, it's actually late, lol. Usually November 1st. I am ready but this year, maybe because the snow came later I hadn't been itching to do it. I am happy I pushed myself to do it because now I am definitely in the Christmas mood. Alright, enough about decorations, let's talk about today's cards.

Both of my cards feature the beautiful Elegant Floral Frames. This set also has coordinating dies that give you the option to cut the inside of the ornament like I have to add a shaker element. I chose to heat emboss the stamps and then do some loose water coloring, but there is also an option to color these in using the coordinating Elegant Floral Stencils.

CARD RECIPE

• Stamp images using the new Bee Creative Gold Metallic Ink Pad and heat set with gold embossing powder on Bristol paper.
• Watercolor the images using a medium of choice. I used Karin BrushMarker Pro pens. 
• Die cut using coordinating Elegant Floral Frames Dies.
• Die cut 3 more layers for stacking and gluing together to create the space for the shaker element. You could use thin foam tape strips too if you like. I find this way easier.
• Die cut a piece of acetate to create the window for the shaker by just cutting the outline of the ornament and glue it to the back of the watercolored layer followed by the stacking layers.
• On a die-cut Scalloped A2 Frame create a little pile using your shaker bits and then glue the ornament to the panel.
• Use foam dots to pop the panel onto the card's front layer which was done by applying a layer of the Bee Creative Gold Metallic Ink over the raised areas of the Winter Gems Coverplate and dry embossing the impression into the panel with the die cut machine. The results are subtle but add so much detail.

This next card was done the exact same way only this time obviously using the other ornament and the Plaid Hot Foil Plate was used for dry embossing rather than foiling.

Just to save time I stamped the same sentiment from the Home for the Holidays using the Bee Creative Gold Metallic Ink Pad that I heat set with gold embossing powder and then die cut using the Home for the Holidays Dies.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from the Home for the Holidays set, stamped in using Bee Creative Intense Black Ink.

Merry and Bright Christmas Lights Card | Studio Katia

Hello friends and Happy Wednesday!

Have you all started decorating for Christmas yet? I haven't yet, but with all the snow we have been getting recently it is starting to look like a winter wonderland outside and it's making me want to put up the tree! 

Anyways, let's talk about today's fun festive card. This card features the new Christmas Light Set from Studio Katia's last release. 

CARD RECIPE

I kept this card super simple and one layer. 

• Stamp the string of lights to stamp across the panel as shown below leaving space for the sentiment. Use Copic-friendly ink. There is a coordinating die set if you want to add extra dimension to this card that you could use.
• Use a small ink-blending brush to blend rainbow-ordered ink circles onto each light. 
• Color in the light bulbs with coordinating Copic colored markers. 

• Add white gel pen highlights to the bulbs.
• For a little sparkle, I added glue to the string of lights in various spots.
• Before the glue dries, sprinkle on Chucky Sparkle Glitter.

• To embellish the card front even more I added a few Clay Rainbow Stars.
• Glue panel onto an A2 Card base and voila, super simple Christmas Card!

I hope you were inspired by this festive and bright Christmas Lights Card. I think this would be a fun and easy enough design to mass-produce for the Holidays.

Floral Frenzy Cards | Spellbinders | Floral Reflection Collection

Hello friends! 

There is a gorgeous new collection from Spellbinders available now and if you love florals this one is calling your name. The Floral Refection Collection is so pretty and so versatile as I will show you with my card examples today.

CARD RECIPE

First of all, let's talk about this new 3D embossing folder! Just look at the gorgeous floral detail. Alone as a background it is beautiful. For this birthday card, I paired it with a vellum heart from the new Essential Heart Etched Die set with the Floral Reflection Etched Dies. To make this a birthday card I just added the sentiment from the Floral Reflection Sentiment set, but honestly, it could be used for any occasion.

Here is another example. This time the sentiment is a bit vague but I turned it into a wedding card just by adding a little piece of tule behind the die-cut heart.

Again I used the flowers from the Floral Reflection Etched Dies without the base stems and created a loose arrangement along the edge of the heart that I then added to the 3D Flower Frenzy Embossed Background.

This final card could be used for any occasion. To make the embossed areas pop even more I used white pigment ink over the raised areas. I then die cut the Floral Reflection Etched dies from white cardstock and finished just the centers of the flowers to reduce some layers.

To the center, I added a sentiment from the Floral Reflection Stamp set that I die cut with a coordinating die.
