Slimline Easter Gladiolus Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Hello dear friends, 

Hope you are having a wonderful week. Have you started on your Easter Cards yet? Like everything else, Easter will be here before you know it! This card was inspired by the new Gladiolus Set from Studio Katia because it made me think of Easter as soon as I saw it.

CARD RECIPE

• I began by stamping the Gladiolus a few times using watermark ink and then heat embossing it with gold Emb. pwd. onto watercolor paper.
• I then colored the images using Karin BrushMarker Pro. and die-cut them using the coordinating die and set the images aside.

• I then die-cut a slimline panel using the frame from the Mini Slimline Small Hearts Cover.
• Next, I die-cut the cross from the top half of the panel. I also die-cut the same cross using gold foil paper.
• To the back of the panel, I glued a piece of acetate and added foam to the edges to create the shaker window. I then added the shaker bits to the well and closed the window with another panel. To the front of the shaker window, I then glued the inside of the gold cross.

• Next, I die-cut the Script Easter Die 3 times, stacked them, and glued them together. To the top, I added a layer of glue and sprinkled Sparkle Glitter for shine.
• I then stamped the blessings from the Floral Cross and heat embossed it and die cut it using one of the banners from the Peony Trimmings Dies.
• To finish off the card I added a few scattered Sugar Glitz Discs for a little more sparkle.

I absolutely love how this card came together and hope it has inspired you to start on your Easter or Spring Cards. I think this would also make a beautiful sympathy card.

Gnome One Like You Mini Slimline Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Happy Weekend Friends! 

I hope you all have been well. I have been meaning to share this card for a while but hadn't gotten around to it. To be honest, life has been getting in my crafty way, lol 😆. A couple of weeks ago, I broke my ankle when I missed one of my stairs, and although it is way better already, I am still limping around. I have been trying to be a good patient, but when you have ants in your pants it can be quite the blow. So needless to say I was feeling a bit down and blue last week and binge-watched all the shows. Being on social media made me feel worse cause I want to do all the things and can't, plus being on the phone too long strains my eye. But this week I finally made it down to my craft room and found a comfortable way to support my ankle while I create for short periods. Crafting has always been a great distraction and thankfully it has been helping with my winter blues, and these problems I am having! Anyways, let's talk about this cute Mini Slimline Shaker Card featuring the cutest little gnomes from Studio Katia.

CARD RECIPE

I was inspired to make this card from a scrap piece of blended background I had previously made. I thought the new Mini Slimline Small Hearts Cover would make the cutest little rainbow shaker pieces for a shaker card. So that was exactly what I did, and then began the rest of the card.

• Stamp out the gnomes from the Gnomies Stamp set using copic-friendly ink.
• Color images using Copics, and add white gel pen details for highlights.
• Die cut the stamped images using the coordinating Gnomies Dies.
• Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set onto the smallest Simple Dotted Hearts die cut.

• For the shaker pocket, I die-cut the background using the outer frame of the Mini Slimline Small Hearts Cover. 
• Next, I used the Mini Slimline Shaker Pockets to create the shaker.
• Before sealing the last tab, I added die-cut hearts, making sure that the colored side was face up. I also added some Sugar Glitz Discs and Silver Fever Foil Discs.
• I then glued the shaker pocket onto a mini slimline card base, the same size as the pocket.

• To finish I glued the heart onto the front of the pocket and then added the gnomes using foam tape. 
• I then completed that card by gluing on a few of the Bubblegum Pearls.

Birthday Balloon Shaker Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends and Happy 2023! 

Yes, this is my first post of the New Year, so I wanted to wish you all the best and thank you all for your support over the years. 

EYE UPDATE: As I have mentioned recently I have been struggling with the vision in my left eye, I barely see anything out of it now. What I do see is mostly shapes and colors, no detail. Because of that, I have been limiting my screen time. For now, I am patching my left eye to avoid straining it when I am online, and still trying to figure out how to decrease the stress on my good eye. I am hoping my left-side vision will stabilize and improve, I just don't want it to get worse. Thankfully, I have a great team of doctors that are following me closely and I am so thankful for all the support I have received. Don't worry I will still be creating just less often, so I am hoping you still will stick with me.

If you saw my last post, you will recognize the similarities between the two backgrounds. I loved my last background so much that I had to recreate the rainbow background again, but this time using balloons from Honey Bee Stamps. Birthday cards are definitely my favorite cards to make and shakers just make the best birthday cards because they are like a party on their own. 

CARD RECIPE

• To begin, I used one of the stencils from the Layering Balloon Stencils and started by blending the yellow ink in the center, followed by the pink ink on top and then the blue on the bottom. When you overlap with the previous color it results in a rainbow blend. Repeat the process with the top layer of the stencil. Use light pressure when blending to create somewhat of a transparent effect.
• Once the background is done, add double-sided tape to the back and secure 3 of the shaker pocket tabs. I filled the pocket with Bokeh Lights Confetti and sealed the last tab. Remove the protective plastic layer from the pocket if it has one.
• Attach the finished shaker pocket to a card base.

• Using Rainbow Glimmer Foil, I foiled stamped the Happy Birthday Plate from the Foil Script: Wishes Hot Foil Plate/Dies and then die cut it using the coordinating die.
• Use glue to secure the sentiment to the front of the shaker, and voila, how easy was this birthday card!?

A card like this would be easy to mass-produce and have on hand for upcoming birthdays. Change up the colors to make switch things up and make the cards more personal. I think I may have to take my own advice and make some for my stash as I am always running low.
