DECEMBER 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit | Hero Arts

Hello, my friends!

The December 2021 My Monthly Hero kit is live!  So I can finally share a couple of cards featuring the new kit. This month's kit is all about cities and neighborhoods. Perfect for those moving, traveling, missing you, thinking of you friendship cards, and many more themes. This month's theme also reminds me of how much I miss traveling and seeing different cities. 

For this card, I stamped the background using Unicorn Pigment Ink onto Pitch Black Cardstock and heat embossed the lines with White Detail Embossing Powder. I then fussy cut a roofline and attached this city scene to the ink blended card panel that I had blended out the sunrise using the inks included in the kit. The sentiment was stamped out using an Intens-ified Black Ink Pad with a few stamps from the included stamp set. To finish I added a few sparkly sequins.

For this next card, I made the entire background panel using the full stamped image that I cut to A2 size. I repeated the same process to stamp the background using Unicorn Pigment Ink onto Pitch Black Cardstock and heat embossed the lines with White Detail Embossing Powder. I then chose one of the little houses and stamped the house using a red piece of cardstock, fussy cut it, and glued it to a strip of paper that I had stamped out another sentiment from the included set.  I then used foam tape to add the house and sentiment onto the card panel. 

To finish, I added the hey! using the same Intens-ified Black Ink Pad and then used the coordinating bubble die from the included die set and popped it in place. Finally, trimmed down the entire panel and added it to the card base. 

Looking at this card now, I realized I forgot to add some bling😱! I never do that!!! Shhh, don't tell anyone... it's our secret!

Merry Poinsettia Christmas Card | Hero Arts

Hello, my cardmaking friends! Today I am sharing this Merry Poinsettia Christmas Card created with the Merry Poinsettia Bunch Stamp and Dies from Hero Arts.

I have been wanting to experiment with watercolors on Black Watercolor cardstock for a while and thought these poinsettias were the perfect excuse. I used metallic watercolors as I thought they would pop off the black cardstock the best and add more shimmer and shine to the finished project.

To create this card, I stamped out the Poinsettia Bunches twice onto the Black Watercolor Paper using Versamark Ink. I then heat set the lines using Gold Emb. Pwd. Next, I colored in the images and then used the coordinating die to cut out both Poinsettia Bunches. To the back of the bunches, I added foam tape and popped them onto the front of an A2 Black Card Base, and trimmed off any pieces that hung over the edge.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed with the same Gold Emb. Pwd. and trimmed the banner to fit across the entire width of the card front. I then glued the banner to a layer of the gold Glitter Paper Holiday Sparkle paper that was then glued to the front of the card.

For some finishing touches, I added glossy accents to the flower centers and berries and added some gold pearls.

Merry Christmas Ornament Card | Hero Arts

Hello, my sweet crafty friends.

Today I am sharing this beautiful Merry Christmas Ornament Card featuring a few sets from the Hero Arts Awesome Add-Ons that are still available. If you love heat embossing and a simple design this one is perfect for you.

I began by preparing the Pitch Black Cardstock panel by using an anti-static powder duster. I then stamped out the top and bottom using the first layer of the Color Layering Merry Christmas stamp set with Unicorn Pigment Ink. I then used white embossing powder to heat set the first layer. I repeated the previous step twice to get a good white embossed layer for the next step. Next, line up the top detail layer of the stamps, this time inked the stamp with Versamark ink and then heat set it using gold embossing powder.

Cut out the ornament using the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies. Stamp, heat emboss the top of the ornament, and fussy cut it out. Glue it to the top of the die-cut circle "ornament". Pierce a hole through the top to add the gold thread through later.

Stamp out the background panel using Versamark ink, and heat set it using gold embossing powder. Trim the panel. Attach it to another black panel to create a shadow and to tie the colors together. Now pop the ornament in the center of the panels using foam tape. Secure the gold thread behind the panels. Use foam tape to adhere the embossed panel to a gold piece of Glitter Paper Holiday Sparkle cardstock cut to A2 size and then attach it to the card base.

Finish off the card by adding a few gold pearls and a bow to the top of the ornament as a finishing touch.
