3D Embossed Rainbow Tree Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello dear friends and happy Monday!

Some of you have noticed I haven't been as active recently, and this is true. I have been dealing with some visual changes that are affecting my eye, in particular the left cornea. The vision in my left eye is very limited and blurry that even a corrective lens cannot fix it. I am currently trialing a few medications to see if they will help as this is autoimmune-related, but sadly, I don't think the damage is reversible. Because of this, I have been trying my best to avoid straining my eyes as much as possible, to preserve the vision I have left especially in the affected eye. Since my right eye is dominant, I can still see perfectly with it and only notice that my vision is really bad if I close my right eye or if I'm tired and I overdo it. When it is really bad I develop double vision or get bad headaches. Being on the phone is the hardest and that is why I haven't been as active. Unfortunately, I have had to slow down my cardmaking commitments, but I am not ready to give it up crafting just yet. I love creating and I am so thankful for all the opportunities this community has given me that have brought me so much joy over the years. I hope you still will stick with me and continue to follow my creative journey even if it is at a slower pace.

Now, let's get on with today's card. You all know my favorite color is rainbow so I thought it would be fun to make Grandma's Christmas Tree in rainbow colors and just like the card sentiment, I still believe in Christmas miracles😉

CARD RECIPE

• I started by ink-blending the Christmas Tree using the 3D Christmas Tree Stencils and 3 colors of ink. Pink, yellow and blue. (See supplies linked below).
• Once the tree was blended out, I die cut the tree first with the outline die from Grandma's Christmas Tree Dies, and then the die to cut out the decoration slits on the tree. 
• Next, I embossed the tree using Grandma's Christmas Tree 3D Embossing Folder.
• I then lined up one of the stencils and added the glitter layer using glimmer paste.
• Once it was dry I added the white glitter bulbs to the tree as well as the rainbow pearls.

• For the background, I used the Nordic Winter Background Stencils blended using the same inks. 
• I then layered over it another layer of vellum that I embossed using the Kaleidoscope 3D Embossing Folder.
• I trimmed the layers and added them both to the bottom layer that I die-cut using the Scallop A2 Frame Dies.
• Next, I popped some foam dots on the back of the tree and glued it to the background panel.

• The sentiment comes from the new Foil Script Holiday and Dies that I first foiled using Speckled Prism Glimmer Foil and then die-cut with the coordinating die, stacking a few layers together and then gluing onto the tree.
• To finish the tree I added an iridescent star to the topper.

I hope you enjoyed today's 3D Embossed Rainbow Tree Card. It reminds me of the tree we had growing up with the rainbow-colored lights.

Christmas Cardinal Scene Pop-Up Frame Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my friends, and happy Monday. To all my American friends, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I am thankful for YOU! 

Today I have a special card inspired by the amazing Jennifer McGuire. She shared this Pop-Up Frame technique a few months ago and I thought it was brilliant and had to give it a try with the gorgeous Make It Merry Release from Honey Bee Stamps.

CARD RECIPE

• To begin I die-cut all the pieces for the Layering Bells Dies, Lovely Layers Winter Birds and the Lovely Layers Winter Greenery and pieced them together.
• Next, I created the frame for the top of the Pop-Up using the Layering Vintage Labels A2 Frame Dies.
• I then glued the scene together onto the frame.
• Embellish using a white gel pen and add Prisma glitter to the foliage for your snow.

• To create the pop-up, I cut 2 pieces of paper that measured 5.5x1 inches and scored them at every 1/4 inch. Then accordion fold each piece and glue them to the sides of the back of the frame. These will create the springs for the pop-up card.
• For the background, I used the Kaleidoscope 3D Embossing Folder and then added some splatters using the Bee Shimmery Liquid. 

• Glue the springs onto the background, and once dry add the background to a card base.
• Stamp the greeting from the Home for the Holidays set in white ink and heat set it.
• Pop it onto the card front.

• To embellish the card further, I added True Pearl Stickers and Make it Merry Gems.
• To the cardinal's beak, bell, and berries I added glossy accents.

The cool thing about these pop-ups is that they do press down nicely and can be mailed. This one is a bit bulky so I am sure it will require extra postage.

Elegant Floral Ornament Shaker Cards | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, my dearest friends, and Happy Monday!

Guess what!? I got my Christmas decorations up this past weekend. What do you all think? Too soon? For me, it's actually late, lol. Usually November 1st. I am ready but this year, maybe because the snow came later I hadn't been itching to do it. I am happy I pushed myself to do it because now I am definitely in the Christmas mood. Alright, enough about decorations, let's talk about today's cards.

Both of my cards feature the beautiful Elegant Floral Frames. This set also has coordinating dies that give you the option to cut the inside of the ornament like I have to add a shaker element. I chose to heat emboss the stamps and then do some loose water coloring, but there is also an option to color these in using the coordinating Elegant Floral Stencils.

CARD RECIPE

• Stamp images using the new Bee Creative Gold Metallic Ink Pad and heat set with gold embossing powder on Bristol paper.
• Watercolor the images using a medium of choice. I used Karin BrushMarker Pro pens. 
• Die cut using coordinating Elegant Floral Frames Dies.
• Die cut 3 more layers for stacking and gluing together to create the space for the shaker element. You could use thin foam tape strips too if you like. I find this way easier.
• Die cut a piece of acetate to create the window for the shaker by just cutting the outline of the ornament and glue it to the back of the watercolored layer followed by the stacking layers.
• On a die-cut Scalloped A2 Frame create a little pile using your shaker bits and then glue the ornament to the panel.
• Use foam dots to pop the panel onto the card's front layer which was done by applying a layer of the Bee Creative Gold Metallic Ink over the raised areas of the Winter Gems Coverplate and dry embossing the impression into the panel with the die cut machine. The results are subtle but add so much detail.

This next card was done the exact same way only this time obviously using the other ornament and the Plaid Hot Foil Plate was used for dry embossing rather than foiling.

Just to save time I stamped the same sentiment from the Home for the Holidays using the Bee Creative Gold Metallic Ink Pad that I heat set with gold embossing powder and then die cut using the Home for the Holidays Dies.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from the Home for the Holidays set, stamped in using Bee Creative Intense Black Ink.
