Cards for Cancer Featuring Newton's Support Stamp Set

As you all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So if you are due for a check or feel any unusual lumps please go get your Tata's checked :)

Recently Cancer has affected some of my friends and family. And, even though I deal with Cancer Patients everyday as an Oncology Nurse it is so different when you are on the other side. You cannot help but feel helpless :( 

Today I want to share with you a bunch of cards that I have made for some of those people in my life affected by the disease. My hope is to encourage them on their journey and remind them that they can get through there treatments as difficult as they might be. Sorry, this post is a bit picture heavy as I have never gotten so much use out of one Stamp set! 

So lets get started...

This kitty's colours reminds me of Garfield. The Pink ribbon is probably the most known as it represent Breast Cancer.

The stamps I used on all my cards come from Newton's Nook - Newton's Support Stamp Set.

I will have a list of all the supplies I used with links to where I purchased them below the post.

                                                                                         

This is my White Kitty.

  Each image was stamped onto some Canson water color paper using Versafine Onyx ink. I then used my Zig Clean Clear Brushes to colour the images in. They then were Cut out using my Silhouette Pixscan mat.

I think this is my favourite kitty! Love the stripes I drew on him ;)

Here is another card done in grey and pink tones. I used Versamark  ink to stamp the background  ribbons. 

 They Grey Ribbon represents Brain Cancer. 

This yellow striped yellow kitten is pretty cute too!

The Heart Die I used on most of the cards comes from Gina Marie Designs.

The Embossing folder I used i s from  We R Memory Keepers - the Next Level Embossing Folders -Quilted

  

This one is my spotted Kitty! I think these cats are called Calico Cats. 

It's very difficult to see all the shine in this card. I rubbed the Versamark stamped images on the background with some perfect pearls and in the light all those little hearts are so reflective!

Light blue represents prostate Cancer.                                  

 The teal ribbon is for Ovarian Cancer. 

Right now I have a dear friend who is going through her treatments and I think she will love this card. She is one tough lady and I know she will beat this disease!

The inside of each card was finished with this little heart sentiment.   

Hopefully my cards will put a smile on the recipients face and encourage them on their journey!

Happy 70th Birthday Card for my MIL

Bride to Be Free - Silhouette .studio file

Hello Everyone!

Today I have a FREE Silhouette .studio file to share with you all. That means it is only Silhouette machine compatible. Sorry don't have an SVG for it! But, if you like... watch my video HERE as I explain how to I created it and you may be able to do something similar as well.

As you can see this is for a Bride To Be Wedding Shower Cake topper that I recently made for some one and since I know how expensive these events can get, I thought I would share it with all the DIYers out there for FREE!

Bride To Be Cake Topper Silhouette .studio file

TIPS:

• Make sure you avoid using sparklers or candles nearby as it is paper and totally flammable! 
• If you are using this on top of buttercream icing (or any other moist type of icing) insert the topper just before revealing the cake as paper can absorb any grease that the icing may contain, or just have it barely touch the top of the cake. I have used these toppers on fondant-covered cakes, and there has been no grease transfer.

DIY Customized Foam Core Shelving for Markers

Hi guys,

Today I'm getting organized with you all!

Since discovering the world of stamping and card making I have been looking for ways to neatly organize my markers, but couldn't find anything that really worked for my space. So as a DIY'er, I thought I could come up with something that worked for me. And, I absolutely LOVE the results and had to share it with you all of course.

This shelving/storage unit measures ~ 8 inches high, 16 inches wide and has a depth of 5.5 inches.

Super easy and inexpensive to make!

You could use the same principles I used in creating this one and customize it for your space. Organize your stamp blocks and ink pads, washi tapes, ribbon... the possibilities are endless!
