Hello, and welcome to Studio Katia's 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop! For those of you that are new here, I'm Ilda π and am super excited to finally announce that I have joined the
Studio Katia Design Team! If you've already started on the hop, you have arrived from the lovely
Emily's blog, and if you are just getting started you can find the next stop at the end of this post.
For my cards today, I stuck to the Under the Sea theme ππ ππ
If you have been following me on
Instagram you may have seen a preview of this first card already, if you are not following me yet on Instagram make sure you do, as I will be doing a
GIVEAWAY on Instagram too!
So let's get onto this is the tropical little aquarium shaker I created. I began by making the background using distress oxide inks and then used some micro glaze over top to intensify the colors. Next, I stamped out the images I wanted to use for this card and colored them in with the very vibrant Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. I then die cut all the images out and also die cut what would become the aquarium using the frame from
Dotted Pattern Loops Die.
To assemble the card, attached acetate to the back of the frame, to which I then added a thin strip of doubled foam tape along the edge. Next, I placed and glued down the images I wanted to use on the inside of the shaker card. I also attached a very thin plastic thread to the back of the two larger fish and the Blowfish and secured the ends onto the back of the panel. This will allow those pieces to move up and down when shaking the card. I then added a mix of
March,
April and
May crystals as my shaker bits and added glued down some
iridescent bubbles. For the sentiment, I used the Birthday Fishes stamp on the banner from the
dotted patters - set 2 dies.
Here's a close look at this fun card.

For the background, again I used distress oxide inks, only this time I used them for blending out the distress oxide inks with the new
Brush Stroke Waves Stencil. I then used the
Scallop Window die to create a tunnel shaker window. To embellish the shell I added some lines of chunky glitter to it.
Here is a look at the card once it's opened up. I added a mix of large chunky glitter and Spring Gems.
For the sentiment, I used the positive piece from front background panel and adhered it right below where the window opening would be. I then stamped out the
Happy Birthday from the birthday greetings set. Added a little iridescent bubble to the top to reveal a little pearl when the window is open from the top.

For my final card, I used the
Mermaid for Each Other Stamp set and did a no line water coloring using Zig clean Color brush pens. Once the images were colored I re-stamped their mermaid tails with a watermark ink and embossed only their tails in gold. I also used the gold embossing powder on all their mermaid accessories.
Behind the mermaids, I used the
Seashell die and cut the inner shell shape using a gold foiled cardstock and added a large
April crystal between and some
gold crystals above them.
For the background, I used alcohol inks on yupo paper and burnished some of the areas with gold foil. Then I die cut the panel using the frame from the
Dotted Patterns: Loops, popping up the center panel with foam tape.
To the inside of the card, I used the outer shell piece and added the "
love" diecut from the Spring Bouquet set and stamped out "you".
