Hooked on You Interactive Shaker/Slider Card | Honey Bee Stamps

In the world of crafting, there's always something new and exciting to try. If you're a fan of creating interactive and eye-catching cards, then you're in for a treat! Not only is this card a shaker, but it also is a slider.

CARD RECIPE

Let's explore the features of this card, along with the new products from Honey Bee Stamps that will take your card-making game to new heights!

1. Start by die-cutting and piecing one of the Lovely Layers Lures. 

2. To the end of the lure, I attached the cute little earthworm from the Spring Meadow and Dies.

3. Next, attach a clear thread and secure it to the back of the lure. Also (I wished I had done this, hindsight is 20/20) glue a penny or a button to the back of the lure and set it aside to work on the flat shaker.

4. Cut a piece of pattern paper for the background of the shaker. This paper comes from the Vitamin Sea Paper Pad and create the shaker pocket. Before attaching the plastic to the panel, pierce a tiny hole near the top center of the front of the plastic pocket. Thread the end of the clear thread you attached to the lure earlier,  from inside the pocket leaving excess line outside the pocket for later use. 

(You can create the pocket either by using scrap plastic and wrapping it around the panel or using a premade shaker pocket (yes, the same ones I developed 😉) Click HERE if you need further instruction on this). 

5. Once the pocket is made, fill it with your shaker bits. I used AURORA LIGHTS Confetti Mix and close up the pocket. Attach the pocket to a card base.

6. Stamp out and heat emboss in white your sentiment strip using the Hooked On You Stamps and Dies.

7. Shorten the thread that is dangling outside the pocket and attach the sentiment to the clear thread by sandwiching the thread between a few layers of the die-cuts. If done correctly the weight of the lure will pull the sentiment to snug up against the pierced hole you created. (My lure didn't have enough weight and so it didn't work as smoothly as I would have liked it to, but this is how you learn right!?)

8. Finish the outside of the shaker panel by adding some seagrasses. I used some from the Ocean Deep Scene Builder Dies.

9. To embellish a little more I added some fun "water bubbles" using Ombre Pearls- Pearl Stickers.

By following these steps, you can create a unique and interactive flat shaker hooked on your slider lure card that will amaze and delight the recipient. Experiment with different color combinations, patterns, and shaker fillings to customize the card to your liking.

Birthday Fortune Cookies Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Monday crafty Friends. 

I have a super cute interactive Birthday card to share with you today featuring the new Fortune Cookie collection from Honey Bee Stamps. 

CARD DETAILS

To start, I die cut all the pieces for the Fortune Cookies using the FORTUNATE COOKIE SLIDER dies and scrap pieces of different shades of brown cardstock. I then pieced them together.

The next thing I did was choose the piece of cardstock for the background. I really liked this pink xoxo pattern that comes from the LOVE LETTER PAPER PAD. The piece was then trimmed to an A2 size panel.

Rather than using the slider die, I chose to create a small slit in the center of the paper for my fortune message to slip into. To do this I stamped the "So Lucky to know you" fortune on one of the banners from the FORTUNATE TO HAVE YOU set by creating a partial die cut of the banner so that I could extend the length of it. I then hand cut the remainder of the banner, slid the banner through the slit, and then glued one end onto one-half of the fortune cookie. On the backside of the pattern paper, I added a little scrap piece of paper to the end of the banner so that when pulled out the banner wouldn't slide out completely. I then glued the panel to the card base avoiding any glue around the area the banner would be sliding through. I did not use foam tape as it moved ok without the added space.

I then just covered up the slit area with the other half of the Fortune Cookie.

The other two fortune cookies also have an interactive banner that slides out as well. On the bottom left one, the fortune comes out completely but slides back into place easily and the bottom right one has the built-in stopper banner. They are all fun to pull and play with.

For the sentiment, I used the BEE BOLD ALPHABET CUTS to spell out PICK and then added the "a fortune" form the FORTUNATE TO HAVE YOU that was stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed in white and then die cut using the coordinating FORTUNATE TO HAVE YOU DIES. To each letter, I then added a light layer of glue to the top half and dipped it in glitter.

To finish off the inside of this birthday card, I stamped out the birthday fortune from the FORTUNATE TO HAVE YOU set and added a little die-cut heart from the FORTUNATE TO HAVE YOU DIES set.

Birthday Slider Surprise Card | Studio Katia

Hello Friends and Happy Friday!

I have been busy so making Birthday Cards lately. This week started the chain of birthdays happening now until the end of August. Today's card was made for my little niece who celebrated her birthday this past week. I love making interactive cards, especially for children and this one was fun to make.

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I started off by stamping the MINI BIRTHDAY CAKE image and then coloring it with Copic Markers. I then used the MINI BIRTHDAY CAKE DIE to die cut the image.

Next, I die cut the pieces for the SLIDER TAG DIES. I then used the BIRTHDAY BALLOONS DUO STENCIL to blend out the balloons to the top and inside pieces using Distress Oxide Inks and the INK BLENDER BRUSHES. I did do my best to line up each layer of the slider tag to make the balloon images appear seamless. Before assembling the slider tag, I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from the HAPPY CELEBRATIONS to the inside of the tag so that when the slider piece is pulled it reveals the birthday sentiment.

I then glued the slider tag onto a card panel and stenciled on the other balloons. To the bottom half of the slider panel, I glued the Birthday Cake that I had previously colored.

To finish decorating the cake I used a glue pen to add liquid adhesive to the candles and then sprinkled them with SPARKLE GLITTER to make them sparkly. And then added glossy accents to the flames and the icing on the cake.

To embellish the rest of the card I added some 3M CRYSTAL RAINBOW SEQUINS and that pretty much finished off this card.
