Pampas Grass Thinking of You Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends,

For my card, I wanted to play around with the new Lovely Layers Fall Foliage Dies. At first, I was going to use various dies and then I thought it would be fun just to use the Pampas and create an arrangement as they are so popular these days. 

CARD RECIPE

• Die cut 5 pieces using the pampas grass die from the Lovely Layers Fall Foliage Dies.
• Using the detail blender brushes, I added a touch of Tattered Rose (D. O.) ink to the edges.
• Next, die-cut the pieces from the Rattan Basket Dies.
• Ink blend the edges using Antique Linen (D.O.) ink.
• Add foam to the edges of the basket and piece it together, leaving the center open to build and glue the arrangement.
• On black cardstock, heat foil the sentiment from the Fall Foliage Foil Plate using Blush Foil and the Hot Foil Machine. 
• Use the coordinating die from the Fall Foliage Frame Dies to die cut the foiled sentiment. 
• Use Black foam dots to pop up the sentiments.
• Glue the elements to the front of the card. On the card base, I added a piece of pattern paper from the Grain and Grunge Paper Pad that I had trimmed first.
• Finish the front with some blush-colored gems from the Grain Grunge Gems Sticker pack.

• On the inside of the card, I finished this friendship card with a sentiment from the Inside Sentiments Comfort Stamp set.
• To tie this all together I used a coordinating envelope and the new Maple Wax Leaf Stamper and Autumn Wax Melts.

Beach Sunset Birthday Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends and happy Monday! 

I hope you all are enjoying your summer so far. I have yet to do so. Work is out of control as we are so short-staffed and it looks like I won't be getting some of my vacation requests approved so it will be a staycation for the time that was approved which will be later on in August. Plus, how can anyone get anything done with the kids at home, lol😆. I feel like I'm constantly cooking or cleaning. Anyways, I digress... guess I was wishing I was somewhere like on today's card for the summer. A girl can dream, right!?!

I kept this card super simple as I wanted the Ocean Circlescape Dies to be the focal point.

CARD RECIPE

• Die-cut the Ocean Circlescape Dies using paper for ink blending. 
• Ink blend the waves, sun, and sky using distress oxide inks, see colors listed below. 
• Spray the waves with water to add distress and texture to the blending. 
• Glue all the die-cut pieces back onto a circle smaller than the circle shape. I used one of the circles from the Circlescapes Shaker Frames.

Pop up the sun in the center using foam tape.

Add white gel pen details to the waves, sun, and sky. 

Add a thin layer of glue to each layer of wave and add chunky glitter for a touch of sparkle.

Add the birthday sentiment from the Foil Script: Wishes Hot Foil Plate/Dies that has been foiled using polished brass glimmer foil with the Hot foil glimmer system.

Add foam dots to the back of the finished Circlescape panel and attach it to a black piece of A2-sized cardstock that has been glued to an A2 card base.

Rainbow Dreams Inspirations Day 1 | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello, again friends, and Happy Thursday!

Have you been bitten by the foil bug? Either you love it or hate it. I have mixed reviews, lol. It depends on the day for me. Sometimes I foil without any issue and sometimes I get the worst transfers. For me, I think it is figuring out the papers that transfer best with solid plates that I sometimes have issues with. The thinner-lined foiled designs always transfer well for me. 

For my project today, I have a foiled card to share with you featuring products from the Rainbow Dreams release. *To use foil plates you will need a hot foil system. I used the Spellbinders one.

CARD RECIPE

This foiled rainbowlicious card features the new:

• Rainbow Hot Foil Plate
• Look For The Rainbow 
• Look For The Rainbow Dies
• Rainbow A2 Pierced Cover Plate
• Rainbow Builder A2 Card Base 

Other Supplies used:

As you can see from the pictures the darker rainbow colors foiled beautifully, but if you look closely at the yellow on the rainbow, it is a bit patchy. That is why I only used half of the rainbows that I foiled to create this wave. The yellow and the red didn't transfer as well, and since I hate to waste I came up with this design to salvage the good pieces.

This card is so pretty in real life. The reflective properties of the foil make it difficult to photograph them well, but I think I captured them as well as possible.

I hope this inspired you today, and if you are like me don't give up on foiling if you had a few bad attempts. If I had I may have not made this pretty card. Also even though, things sometimes are challenging I love learning from my mistakes.

Calligraphy Hearts Valentine Cards | Spellbinders | GOM January 2021

Happy Monday my crafty friends.

Today I am sharing with you a trio of Valentine's Day cards featuring Spellbinders January Calligraphy Hearts Glimmer Hot Foil set. 

This month's foil set also coordinates with the Small Die of the Month Lovely Card Creator, the Large Die of the Month Slimline Kaleidoscope and the Clear Stamp of the Month Sending Love Set. 

CARD DETAILS

I think these cards are very simple and self-explanatory to recreate so I won't go into too many details. Like any other foiled card, these cards require a  GLIMMER HOT FOIL SYSTEM. What I did was RED foil a variety of different colored cardstock using all 3 heart designs, and then used the coordinating heart die to cut them out. I did the same thing with the sentiments and then cut them into strips. The fun part was figuring out the design and layouts.  

This first card was super simple. I used foam to pop the hearts up and then trimmed off any excess paper that hung off the edges. I then added a foiled sentiment and a few white pearl embellishments.

Again this next card was super simple. It's hard to see in the picture but I added some scorelines to the top white part of the card to add some texture and interest to the card. I then added the two love hearts on the sides and then popped up the one heart in the center. This design hides the transition of the paper. 

The foiled sentiment was then added and then once again I used the white pearls as embellishments.

For the last card, I used the MODERN LINES GLIMMER PLATE to add SILVER foiled detail to the black cardstock piece. I then embellished the Calligraphy Heart further by adding some red and pink die cut flowers that also come with the set.

To the center of each flower, I then glued the same white pearls.

Keeping the color palette simple and limiting the supplies you use is a great way to create multiple coordinating card sets. Whenever I turn my HOT FOIL SYSTEM on I find it easier to create if my pieces are all foiled ahead of time. I also foil all the sentiments and cut them into strips. If you have any leftovers just keep them on hand for future projects (I store them in the die sleeve along with the dies). This will save you a little time next time you need a foiled sentiment strip!
