Gnome One Like You Mini Slimline Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Happy Weekend Friends! 

I hope you all have been well. I have been meaning to share this card for a while but hadn't gotten around to it. To be honest, life has been getting in my crafty way, lol 😆. A couple of weeks ago, I broke my ankle when I missed one of my stairs, and although it is way better already, I am still limping around. I have been trying to be a good patient, but when you have ants in your pants it can be quite the blow. So needless to say I was feeling a bit down and blue last week and binge-watched all the shows. Being on social media made me feel worse cause I want to do all the things and can't, plus being on the phone too long strains my eye. But this week I finally made it down to my craft room and found a comfortable way to support my ankle while I create for short periods. Crafting has always been a great distraction and thankfully it has been helping with my winter blues, and these problems I am having! Anyways, let's talk about this cute Mini Slimline Shaker Card featuring the cutest little gnomes from Studio Katia.

CARD RECIPE

I was inspired to make this card from a scrap piece of blended background I had previously made. I thought the new Mini Slimline Small Hearts Cover would make the cutest little rainbow shaker pieces for a shaker card. So that was exactly what I did, and then began the rest of the card.

• Stamp out the gnomes from the Gnomies Stamp set using copic-friendly ink.
• Color images using Copics, and add white gel pen details for highlights.
• Die cut the stamped images using the coordinating Gnomies Dies.
• Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set onto the smallest Simple Dotted Hearts die cut.

• For the shaker pocket, I die-cut the background using the outer frame of the Mini Slimline Small Hearts Cover. 
• Next, I used the Mini Slimline Shaker Pockets to create the shaker.
• Before sealing the last tab, I added die-cut hearts, making sure that the colored side was face up. I also added some Sugar Glitz Discs and Silver Fever Foil Discs.
• I then glued the shaker pocket onto a mini slimline card base, the same size as the pocket.

• To finish I glued the heart onto the front of the pocket and then added the gnomes using foam tape. 
• I then completed that card by gluing on a few of the Bubblegum Pearls.

Rainbow Foiled Roses Mini Slimline Card and Tag | Studio Katia

Hello friends and happy Saturday!

I was super excited to try out the hot foil plates. With these plates, you need to have a hot foil system to be able to foil the design onto the paper. And, if you know me I had to use Rainbow Glimmer Foil.

CARD RECIPE

So to begin I foiled the Roses Hot Foil Plate using the Rainbow Glimmer Foil. I then die-cut the images using the coordinating Spring Roses Dies. Set these pieces aside to work on the card and the tag.

For both the card and the tag I used the Mini Slimline Set One dies. The pattern paper comes from the Black, White, and Rainbow Paper Panels.

I then used foam tape to add the scallop layer to the mini slimline card base. For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Cone Bouquet set, that I stamped and heat embossed in white on black cardstock. 

For the tag, I used a sentiment that comes from the Gift Tag Greeting: Winter set. I just trimmed it down and added it to a black shadow layer.

To finish I just sprinkled on some pearls for more bling!

Mini Slimline Balloon Birthday Shaker and Floral Cards | Crafty Meraki

Hello again! I am back once again today to share with you a few cards I made to help celebrate Crafty Meraki's Second Anniversary!

Since it is their birthday I thought a birthday shaker would be fun to make. This mini slimline frameless shaker features the new Party Balloons Mini Slimline Meraki Para-dies that I paired with the sentiments from the Birthday Slimline Tag.

If you are curious about how this shaker was assembled, click HERE for a video I made a while ago. To create the background there was a lot of paper piecing happening here. I die cut the Party Balloons Mini Slimline Meraki Para-dies 3 times, one white layer and two black layers. For the white layer, I ink blended all the balloon colors using distress oxide inks. I then sandwiched the white layer between the two black ones. For the top black layer, I snipped the inside out just using the black frame. 

For the next two cards, I kept them super simple and just focused on the flowers. I sometimes like to keep the sentiments off the card until I am ready to send it to someone. This way they are more versatile. Both finished cards are 5X7s.  

To create this first one I used masking tape to block off a frame, and then added the ink blended grass and sky. Next, I die cut and pieced together the June Meraki Fora Para-Dies.

I then added the Meraki Sparkle Prismatic Green Crystals. To the centers, I also added some tiny beads.

This next card features the Madison Meraki Flora Para-Dies. The fun part about these dies is the cut lines in the flowers. They allow you to easily do some masking for ink blending, which is awesome if you want to use more than one color. I just slipped post-it paper in the cut lines and then blended.

You can see on the left flower my masking wasn't perfect, but I learned from my mistakes when I blended the one on the right. 

To finish up this card I added some Meraki Sparkle Prismatic Blue Crystals, even though they are blue they reflect a lot of purples.

I love the Mini Slimline size. As you can see all that is on the card front is the Autumn Buzzword Die along with some leaves from the Itty Bitty Flowers set. This would be a great size to mass produce as it is quite small and fairly quick to make especially if you used pattern paper rather than ink blend it.

I love this Basket Weave Stencil from the Spring Release. Doesn't it look like a sweater pattern? Well, I hope you thought so too as that is what I was going for with the warm sweater weather vibes.

Colorful Rainbow Coneflower Mini Slimline Card | Honey Bee Stamps Day 2 Summer Stems Sneak Peek

Welcome back to Day 2 Sneak Peaks for the Summer Stems Release from Honey Bee Stamps.

I told you yesterday I had another Pride Inspired Card to share with you today, and here is! Isn't it the coolest rainbow card you have ever seen?! I am so happy with how this came together, and it looks even better than I had imagined in my head, lol!

CARD RECIPE

• To start I die cut all the pieces of the Lovely Layers: Coneflower Honey Cuts from white cardstock.
• I then colored each layer of the petals in rainbow order. Making sure the same colors overlapped the previous layers. 
  
• Glue and stack the layers together. To keep the petals separated I added some foam squares in between the layers.
• Color and piece together the center. I added sparkle glitter to add some bling. 
• Color in the leaves.

• On a Mini Slimeline Cardbase (3" x 6") front, stamp out the sentiments. Figure out the layout first and position of your flower pieces and then use a stamp positioner to stamp out the sentiments. Stamps come from the new Color Stamp Set. As you can see I curved the top sentiment over the coneflower.
• Glue the flower pieces in place.

• On the inside of the card, I stamped out a greeting from the new My Favorite Flower Stamp Set. In hindsight, it would have been easier to stamp out the greeting on the inside first before gluing on the flower in the front. Luckily I got a good impression the first time with a stamping block. The Honey Bee Intense Black Ink sure helped!
