Elegant Kaleidoscope Strips and Borders Card Set | December 2019 Large Die of the Month | Spellbinders

 

Hello crafty friends and happy Thursday! I hope you are all having a good week so far.

Today my cards feature Spellbinders Kaleidoscope Trio Strips and Borders which are in the December Large Die of the Month Kit. To be honest I wasn't too sure if I was going to like these dies but that changed quickly once I started to die cut them out and layer the pieces together. I love the potential and versatility that they offer in combination or when used separately. So needless to say don't judge a die until you've used it, lol!

  CARD DETAILS

For this first card, I began by die cutting the bottom layer from a white piece of cardstock. I ran this flower-like die twice to create two rows of flowers. I then lined up the border die to cut off the bottom. To fancy up the card a little I die cut the top layers using a metallic gold foil (I also did the same as you will see for the other cards) and then glued them in place.

Next, I glued die cut panel to a light blue layer that I had previously adhered to the card base. To embellish I used a medium-sized light blue pearl to the center of each flower and then added larger white pearls to the spaces in between.

The sentiments I used in all of the cards today come from the Deco Borders and Corners Stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

For this next card, the process was identical to the one above, only this time I did three rows and flipped the middle row to nestle into the row before it.

Once again I used some white pearls to embellish it and stamped out the sentiment from the same set. I just love how the white pearls pick up and reflect the pink color from the paper.



This next card turned out to be my favorite one of all, and to be honest I thought it was the die I was going to like least! But just look at the beautiful detail. So dainty... it reminds me of lace on a vintage wedding dress. Again, my process was the same, only this time I used an Ivory colored cardstock panel.

To embellish, I used vintage pearls to coordinate with the ivory and continue with the vintage look.

So pretty, right!? I think it will make a perfect card for a Wedding.

Santa's Helpers Christmas Tags | November 2019 Large Die of the Month | Spellbinders

Happy weekend friends!

Before you know it Christmas will be here and to prepare for that, I have the cutest Christmas Tags to share with you featuring the November 2019 Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders help decorate my presents!

CARD DETAILS

How cute are these little faces?!

These "Santa’s Helpers" dies are perfect for making shaped cards, gift holders, scrapbook pages or plain old gift tags like I have done here today. You can keep them simple or go all out with decorating them like I did.

To make them, I die cut every piece out using the solid color cardstock and then pieced and glued them all together. I then spent some time embellishing them and adding the extra details to make them even cuter. For example the puffy details on Santa's Beard and hat, the blended cheeks, and white gel dots on their eyes, the eyelashes, the glossy accents on their noses, the button gems, the bows, and Christmas bells.

I glued each of them to a piece of heavy white cardstock and then cut a shadow border all around the image.

On the back of each tag, I used sentiments from THE GIFT TAG GREETINGS: WINTER stamp set. To turn these into tags I added an eyelet at the top and then added the silver stretchy cord to each of them to tie on to the gifts.

Here is what the tag looks like when tied onto a gift bag.

 These tags measure about 3 x 5.5 inches.

Plus once you're done using them as gift tags the recipient can keep them and hang them up on their Christmas tree!

Spellbinders October 2019 Large Die of the Month - Fall Flora Cards

Hello Friends!

It's the first day of October and do you know what that means?! Well, I will tell you... It's a release day for all of Spellbinders + FSJ Monthly Membership Clubs.  And, today I am sharing a couple of cards I created using the new FALL FLORA dies which come from October 2019 Large Die of the Month Club Kit.

CARD DETAILS

Both my cards were super simple to make. I began by die cutting the all the floral dies using Bristol cardstock. I then blended out distress oxide inks to add color to the die cuts.

Next, I  die cut the card panel using the large frame from the NESTABILITIES RECTANGLES ETCHED DIES. I then glued all the foliage onto the panel and then used the sentiment frame die to cut out the area for the greeting.

The sentiments I used comes from both the SPIRITUAL SENTIMENTS and the YOU MATTER stamp sets. I then embossed the Frame and the words using Chrome embossing powder. Next, I glued the sentiment directly to the card base and popped up the card panel using foam tape.

I finished off the flowers with some Liquid Pixie Dust and then added Glossy Accents to the centers and to the top of the berries.

For this next card, die-cut and colored my elements once again by blending distress oxide inks onto the Bristol paper. I die cut 3 pumpkins and arranged them as you see in the image below. For the thanks, I die cut, stacked and glued 3 layers and then added Liquid Pixie Dust to the top and finished it with a layer of glossy accents.

To add some interest to the card base I used the PIERCED RECTANGLES  to add the piercings to the card panel and them glue on all the elements, popping up one of the pumpkins up with foam adhesive.
