Hi everyone and welcome to the Heffy Friends Blog Hop! Today we are celebrating the new Heffy Doodle release with some great inspiration and a giveaway, too!
Both my cards today feature the cutest kitties from the Purrfect Day Stamp Set. Seriously, if I was a cat lady this scene would probably be happening in real life all day long, right!? I don't have any cats but I have many friends who do so this will make a great card for them!
To begin, I stamped out the play structure onto a piece of cardstock that will end up being the card front and the kitties on another piece of paper. I then colored all the images in using alcohol markers. I then cut the kittens out using the coordinating Purrfect Day Dies.
Before popping and gluing down the kittens onto the play area, I used the Steady Heart Stencil to blend out some rainbow-colored hearts. I didn't mask off the structure I just avoided blending near the stamped areas.
I then stamped out the sentiment onto the background and the MEOW balloon. I then added all the kitties to the scene, trimmed the panel and glued it to an A2 sized card base.
To the inside of this cute card, I added a little mouse and the PURRTHDAY greeting.
For this next card, I began by creating the sun in the background. To create it, I began by using the Square Masquerade Stencil and blended yellow ink around the edges, leaving a lighter area around the center. I then kept rotating the square stencil and repeating this process to create all the sun rays around the sun. I then used the Circle Masquerade Stencil to apply a layer of orange ink to intensify the area and define the sun.
Next, I masked off the area for the grass and blended out the green ink. I then spritzed it with a little water to distress the area. I also added a light blend of bleu to the sky.
Now that the background was complete, once again I used one of the cute kittens from the Purrfect Day Stamps and added him to look like he was laying in the grass soaking up the warm sun rays.
I then die cut the Sunshine word die a few times, stacked and glued them together and added it along the bottom of the stenciled sun. I then added a jewel to where the dot of the "i" would be and finished this card off by stamping out the HELLO.
