Honey Bee Stamps | Day 2 | Bee Mine Blog Hop | 3D Heart Hot Air Balloon Scene Card

Hello Friends and Welcome to Day 2 of the Honey Bee Stamps Blog Hop for the BEE Mine Release! I am in love with all the new goodies and I'm sure after you've seen all the inspiration you will be too!

For my card today I decided to create a slimline scene to jam in as many new goodies as I could and I love the results!

CARD DETAILS

I began by die cutting my mountain and trees using the MOUNTAIN Z-FOLD A2 CARD DIES. I then did some ink blending to quickly add color to them using the DETAIL BLENDER BRUSHES and Distress Oxide Inks and the new MOUNTAIN Z-FOLD Stencils.

Next, I cut out and blended out the background. I then die cut a few clouds to add from the LARGE CLOUDS DIE Set. I then stamped the sentiments as shown using stamps from the BLOWN AWAY Set.

Rather than creating a Z fold card, I added the Mountain fold on one side and the tree fold on the other side and just trimmed off the excess that hung over each edge. I also added another piece of cardstock behind the card front to cover up the tabs that I had glued to create the folds.

To create the 3D balloon, I die cut 3 of the same size hearts using the middle die sized die from the PIERCED XOXO HEART DIE Set using different colored cardstock. I then scored each heart down the center and folded them with a bone folder. To glue them together I added a very thin line of glue along the edge of each fold and held it in place for a few seconds while the glue dried and repeated it for the top heart. If you add too much glue and push the heart flat you risk gluing more then the center and the flaps may not pop up as well.

Once the 3D balloon heart was done, I just glued it to a stamped balloon from the UP, UP AND AWAY Set that I trimmed off as I only need the basket. I then just used foam tape to pop it in place.

Oh, by the way, the balloon does fold flat for mailing, just make sure you wait until the glue is completely dry before flattening it.

To add a little shine to the mountain tops I added some Glimmer Paste.
