Spring Inspired Rainbow Cards | Spellbinders April 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month

Hello sweet friends, hope you all are well! I trust that if you are a crafter you probably haven't left the craft room 😅

Today I have a few Spring inspired rainbow cards to share with you featuring the Spellbinders April 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month. The kit includes Celebrate the Day and the Special Months Glimmer Foil Set which coordinate perfectly with the Truckin Through the Seasons Die if you already have that. I did not, so I got creative with my designs.

CARD DETAILS

This first card was super simple to make. I began by foiling the "hello" from the Hello Dear Friend Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set followed by the "APRIL" from the Special Months Set onto a piece of purple cardstock.

I used the Speckled Prism Glimmer Hot Foil Roll to foil onto the paper using the HOT FOIL SYSTEM. I then glued strips of colored cardstock to create a rainbow gradient on the left side of the card. And finished it off by adding some iridescent bubbles. I think this card would be great for a friend named April or even as a friendship card to give out this month.

For the second card, I created a foiled background by using the Fall Flora Dies from a previous Large Die of the Month Club kit. I love how you can use any metal dies to create designs using foil! I then blended out a rainbow gradient of color using Atelier Inks.

For the sentiment again I used the Speckled Prism Glimmer Hot Foil Roll to foil onto black cardstock using a plate from the Celebrate the Day set. I then mounted that sentiment strip onto a piece that I completely covered with the foil to create a border around the sentiment.

To embellish, I added some clear confetti and a tiny sparkle to the center of the flowers using a gel pen.

There Is No Place Like Home | Whimsical Town Scene Card | Studio Katia

Hello, my friends. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy at home during this time.

Today's card was sadly inspired by the Pandemic, right now there is definitely no place like home! At the time that this was colored, (Day 15 of Kathy Racoocin's Daily Marker Coloring Challenge) Italy was and still is going through difficult times. I have never been to Italy but I imagine it has some beautiful coastal places like this, maybe even whimsical too.

CARD DETAILS

To begin I stamped out all of the WHIMSICAL TOWN stamps that I wanted to use and colored them in using Copic Markers. I chose the bright colors of the rainbow and then mixed them up to color all the buildings. I think the colorful images just add to the whimsy of the card.

Once all the elements were colored I then used the coordinating WHIMSICAL TOWN DIES to cut the pieces out.

Next, I used the BRUSH STROKE WAVES STENCIL to blend out the ocean for the background. I then trimmed the piece and glued it to the card front and began building the scene from there.

To create the illusion of the water in the background I popped up the houses starting with the houses closest to the ocean. I then used the SIMPLE BORDERS DIES to create the grass and to cover up the bottom edges of the buildings. The middle hill was just the opposite cut of the die that I glued in place and added some trees and bushes to.

For the front row of houses, I added an extra layer of foam only to the top parts of the buildings to continue to the illusion of depth.

To finish off the card I stamped out the sentiment from the WHIMSICAL TOWN stamps onto the bottom grass piece and popped it onto place.

Bloom, You Are Beautiful Friendship Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends, I hope you all are well and coping with the isolation situation during these uncertain times. Thankfully we have blogs, social media, and many other ways to stay in contact with each other. Imagine this happened in the '70s or the '80s when the internet was a baby and all we had was rotary phones and tube TV? Now that would have been a nightmare, LOL!!!

Anyways, today I have a super simple Spring-inspired friendship card. If you have been following me on Instagram you may have noticed I colored this TATTOO ROSE for day 21 of Kathy Raccosins Daily Marker Coloring Challenge.

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I had first stamped the TATTOO ROSE image onto kraft cardstock and colored it in using Prismacolor pencils. I then die cut it using the coordinating dies.

I then added glimmer paste to a piece of kraft cardstock using the POLKA DOT BACKGROUND STENCILS.

Next, I die cut the BLOOM HONEY CUTS using a different color of cardstock for each layer to coordinate with the colors of the rose. To the top layer of the bloom word die (pink) I stacked a few layers together to give it more dimension.

To finish off the simple card I stamped the sentiment from the BLOOM set and used the SENTIMENT BANNER DIES to die cut the sentiment out.

Once all the pieces were done I arranged them onto an A2 sized landscape card and popped the pieces in place.
