If you have already started hopping, you should have arrived from
Marie Nicole's Blog, but if you didn't, don't worry you can find the complete list at the bottom of this post. You also may just want to start at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog since I am your last and final Hop. What can I say, sometimes they save the best for last, lol! Nah, just kidding but I do have to warn you I couldn't stop creating with all these new goodies, so I do have lots to share and hopefully, you will be inspired๐
Washi Tape
For my first few cards, I used washi tape to create my backgrounds.
On this card, I used the
Misty Meadows Washi that I adhered to a piece of white cardstock. I then trimmed it to fit onto my card front and inked it up with watermark ink and then added a gold embossing powder edge. Then to finish it off I added the
Mega Thanks Die that I had embossed in the same gold embossing powder and then added the
Sending sentiment. For fun, I added tiny drops of glossy accents to the centers of the flowers.
For this next card, I used the
Botanical Rhapsody Washi tape as my background. Rather than leaving it black and white, I thought it would be fun to add a pop of color to it. The sentiments I used come from the
Mega Greetings 3 Stamp Set.
I used Copic Markers to color these in, but since the Washi tape is not very porous, the alcohol ink floated on top of the tape which I didn't mind at all because once it was dry it left a watercolored look behind.
Embossing Paste
For the next cards, I went a bit nuts playing with the
Embossing Paste. What can I say, there is so much you can do with it!
I love, love how this card turned out! It has to be my favorite, probably because I'm a little obsessed with rainbows.
To begin I added the embossing paste to a black piece of cardstock using the
Flowing Drops Stencil. Once the embossing paste was dry I added a rainbow blend of distress oxide inks starting in the top left corner and working my way to the bottom right corner. The
Mega Thanks Die was die cut a few times from black cardstock and then topped off with a white layer to which I added Glossy Accents to, adding some shine. I then also added "you" to finish off the sentiment from the
Mega Greetings 3 Stamp Set.
For this next rainbowlicious card below, I began by blending out the distress ink colors onto the cardstock using the
Molded Lines Stencil and then all I did was wipe the stencil clean, move it over slightly and applied the
embossing paste to cover up a little bit of the colored lines.
The HELLO comes from the
Mega Greetings 3 Stamp Set that I stamped onto black cardstock and embossed in white. To finish off the card I added the
Mega Friend Die, stacked and glued 3 layers and added glossy accents to it. To embellish the card some more I glued on some rainbow colored
crystals.
This next explosive birthday card was also fun and super easy to make. The first thing I did was add
embossing paste to the cardstock using the
Warp Steep Stencil and just let it dry. Once it was dry I lined up the stencil again over the now dry embossing paste and then blended out the inks using the stencil now as a mask for the background.
I then stamped out the
Happy Birthday onto a strip of black cardstock and embossed it in white. For a bit of shine, I filled in some spaces with an explosion of
sequins.
For this last card, I added some embossing glitter to the
Embossing Paste while it was still wet. Here again, I used the
Flowing Drops Stencil. I was too impatient to let it dry on its own so I added the heat gun to it to speed up the drying time. Initially, the Embossing paste puffed up and then it seemed to flatten after it was completely dry.
To finish off this card I added a black ribbon just across the top half of the card front add secured the ends to the back of the panel and then added the
MISS YOU sentiment to front and embellished it with a few crystals.
