Hello Friends and welcome to the Spellbinders March 2021Club Inspiration Blog Hop! I am super excited to be joining the fun this month. If you have already started on the Blog Hop you would have arrived from Desiree Kuemmerle's Blog and are on the right track. I will share the complete Hop list at the end of this post. Don't forget to leave a comment below to be entered for a chance to win some goodies!
My Mini Birthday Slimline card today features one of the sentiment plates from this month's "Let Your Sentiments Shine Brighter Foil Set". Foil stamping is a great way to add that extra wow factor that you just can't get from stamping with ink.
CARD RECIPE
- Create the card base for the mini slimline.
- Cut paper 6.25x6.25 inches, score down the center at 3 1/8inch mark. Fold in half.
- Glue Silver Glitter cardstock piece to the card base cut to 6.25 x 3 1/8inches.
- Cut front card panel to measure 6 x 2 7/8inches.
- Set up Hot Foil System.
- Foil the birthday Sentiment from the GOM Let Your Sentiments Shine Brighter Foil Set using SKYBRIGHT Glimmer Foil and running it through the PLATINUM 6 DIE CUTTING PLATFORM.
- Die-cut the two of each size of the Egg dies from the EGG-STRA SPECIAL GOM MAR20. These "eggs" will be the Balloons.
- Ink up the balloons, by blending ink along the edges of the egg die cuts. (See colors used in links below)
- Layer balloons on the card front using foam tape to pop a few up.
- Die-cut the numbers from the BIRTHDAY WISHES LDOM FEB21. I used a silver holographic cardstock to make the foiled balloons.
- Add some balloon strings to the back of a few balloons.
- Add ties to the bottom of the balloons that have a visible bottom.
- TIP for ties: I used a fine metallic glitter string to embellish the balloon ends. To make these ties/knots, I cut 3 pieces of string measuring about 6 inches. Group. Tie as many knots as you need along the strings. Snip the knots leaving the desired tie length. Dip the knots in glue and attach them to the balloon bottoms.
- Pull and gather the balloon strings and secure them behind the card panel.
- Attach the panel to the card front.
- Embellish with crystals or desired embellishments.
Well, this was my first time making a mini Slimline and I am loving this size. The best part about making this size is that it isn't as challenging to photograph! I hope you were inspired 😁 so now let's move on to the Hop.
