Citrus Trimmings Friendship Cards | Studio Katia

 

Hello my sweet friends!

Today I am sharing a couple of colorful Summer inspired Citrus Cards. I had recently colored the images during Kathy Raccosin's Daily Coloring Challenge and thought they would make some fun Friendship cards.

CARD DETAILS

Like I said I had previously colored the CITRUS TRIMMINGS images in, but before I colored them with ARTEZA BRUSH PENS, I stamped them out onto Bristol paper and heat embossed the lines using gold embossing powder. Once the images were colored and dry, I fussy cut the Citrus images out.

Next, I created the backgrounds. On this first card, I chose 4 different color cardstock that matched the colors of the oranges I had colored. I then stacked, rotated, and flipped a few of the layers to end up with this colorful lattice-like background. I then glued them all together and attached it to the front of the card base.

I then popped up the Orange Citrus trimmings in the center of the card using FOAM and then stamped out the sentiment onto a tag I die cut from the PEONY TRIMMINGS Die set. I then finished off this card using BUBBLEGUM and RIPE PERSIMMON PEARLS.

For the Lemon/Lime version of the Citrus Card, the process was pretty much the same with a few exceptions.

This time I only used two colors of cardstock to create the background, and I glued the Citrus Trimmings along the bottom of the card without using foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment on to a banner from the DOTTED PATTERNS SET 4 and adhered it in the center of the card using foam tape. Finally, to finish this one off, I added GOLD FOIL PEARLS.  I also added some glossy accents to the center sections of the fruit, but I didn't like how it lost the detail of the watercolor painting I had done, so I did not add accents to the previous card. If you look closely you will see the difference.

Thank You Glimmer Foiled Cards | Spellbinders May 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month

Hey Everyone 👋

On today's blog post, I will be sharing 3 thank you cards created using the Spellbinders May 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month - Thanks a Million set.

CARD DETAILS

Two of the cards I created were done very similarly but using different color palettes. This first one was done in pinks and greens using a SILVER Glimmer Foil.

I also Foiled the thanks to the right side of the card.

As you can see on this next blue and pink combo card, the Foiled thanks is centered and done in SKYBRIGHT Glimmer Foil. 

For added touches of sparkle, I added some coordinating crystals.

On this simple and final card, I chose to just do a foiled sentiment from the Thanks A Million Set and add it to a banner from the BOOKLET BINDING DIES set. 

I also only used the flowers from the set, this time done in yellow and pink and foiled using COPPER Glimmer Foil.

Love how these Thank You Cards turned out. I hope you got some inspiration from these Thank You Glimmer Foiled Cards. I think these would make some great Mother's Day Cards!

Barnyard Party Invitation | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!

I am back again with a post for Honey Bee Stamps. In today's blog post I am sharing the cutest ever Barnyard Party Invitation. This card could be used for pretty much any event that has to do with a farm theme, a child's birthday party, or even a wedding. How cute would it be to receive an invitation like this? Everyone definitely will be at your party😉

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I die cut the barn pieces for the front panel of the card using the new BARN BUILDER DIES. On the red barn layer, I used the WOODGRAIN BACKGROUND stamp to add detail to the wood panels and then drew in the lines using a ruler.

Next, I used the Barn Door frame die to create the barn doors by doing some partial die-cutting. I then just scored the paper to create the hinge for each of the doors. To finish the barn doors I stacked a glued 2 layers of the white wood frames and glued them to each door.

I also die-cut and pieced the little round window for the top of the barn. The lights come from FARMHOUSE ADD-ON that I stamped colored and fussy cut, simply because I didn't want a white border but you could use the coordinating FARMHOUSE ADD-ON DIES.

To let the recipient know this card has a little surprise I stamped out the look inside from the ONE-OF-A-KIND set.

On another piece of paper, I stamped out the little chicks and the pig from the WAY TO GOAT set by doing some masking. I then colored these cuties in and the background using Copic markers and glued the panel in the opening of the barn doors.

The You're Invited stamped in white comes from the PARTY Stamp Set. Below is a closer look at these cuties inside the barn.

To finish the front panel and the inside of the card I die cut two more Barn house panels (one to cover the colored panel and another to make the back piece of the card). To the back panel, I stamped out Let's Party from using the PARTY stamp set, you could also add all the details of the party →the who, what, where, when, and rsvp details here. I then created a score on the left of the barn panel to make the hinge for the card and glued it to the front panel.
