Hello Everyone and Welcome the Altenew May 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink/Enamel Pin Release Blog Hop. I'm so happy to be a part of this amazing release. Thank you Altenew for having me once again!
If you have already started hopping, you should have arrived from the super talented Virginia Lu's Blog, but if you didn't, don't worry you can find the complete list at the bottom of this post. You also may just want to start at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog since I am towards the end of the Hop. So let's get started!
For my first card, I began by stamping out the Everlasting Happiness florals onto a piece of Bristol Paper using watermark ink and heat setting the lined in white. I then used Zig Brushes to loosely watercolor the background panel. Once the panel was dry I trimmed it and attached it the card base.

CARD DETAILS
For my first card, I began by stamping out the Everlasting Happiness florals onto a piece of Bristol Paper using watermark ink and heat setting the lined in white. I then used Zig Brushes to loosely watercolor the background panel. Once the panel was dry I trimmed it and attached it the card base.
The sentiment I added to the center comes from the new Best Things stamp set that I stamped and heat embossed in black and glued onto a background piece of paper that I colored in using the same background colors. I then just popped up in the center of the card. As for little embellishments, I added some green crystals to the centers of the flowers.
Since Mother's Day is just around the corner I thought I would use the same Everlasting Happiness florals to create a Mother's Day Card.
To do this I first I lined up the Everlasting Happiness floral image in my stamping tool to stamp on the top half of the card panel and then just flipped the paper to stamp again on the bottom half of the panel, creating a reverse image on the bottom. This time I used gold embossing powder to heat set the lines.
I then stamped out the letters for Mom using the Ombré Alpha Stamp Set in the middle of the card using Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink and then set it with clear embossing powder.
To add a touch of color I used worn lipstick to blend around the outer edges of the card panel and then added a few clear pink crystals to the fower centers. Trimmed the panel and added it to the card base.
For this last card, I drew on my Portuguese roots as Inspiration. If you have ever visited Portugal I am sure you would have seen similar hand-painted tiles because they are everywhere. They were used in many wall and flooring projects in the 16th and 17th centuries.
This card may look hard to make but it actually wasn't very difficult. I began by lining up the stamps 3 across and 2 down in my stamp positioner. I then stamped out 2 card panels using the Mustard Seed Oxide ink first and set the panels aside to dry. Once the panels were dry I placed one of them back in the stamping tool. I then moved the cleaned off stamps around and repositioned them to stamp directly over the previously stamped ones but using a different design. I used a powder tool over the panel first to ensure the ink was dry and then used Blueprint Sketch Oxide ink to stamp over the yellow layer. I then repeated the same process with the other piece of paper I had stamped in the previous step. Before the blue ink dried I added clear embossing powder to the ink and heat set it to give the blue ink a gloss/tile like effect.
I then just used a paper trimmer and cut images into tile-like squares. I then arranged the pattern onto my card base and popped up the pieces using foam tape. For extra pops of blue, I added some crystals here and there onto some of the tiles.

The sentiment I used comes from the Fancy Greetings Stamp Set that I also stamped out in Blue and then just fussy cut around the edges.
I hope you were inspired by my cards today, I had fun playing with these new sets and making them!
