Save The Date See Through Window Shaker | Studio Katia

I am back with another wedding themed card today. This time it is for a Save the Date Invitation See Through Window Shaker. I think this would also make a great destination wedding card idea.

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I lined up the beige cardstock piece with the card base then ran them both through the die cut machine using the SHAKER HEART DIE to ensure the heart windows line up. I then used the same die to die cut the gold heart frame that will be glued on later. To the edge of the beige panel, I added the scalloped edge by die cutting the piece using the outer frame from the SCALLOP HEARTS COVER.

Next, I added a piece of ACETATE behind the heart opening and glued the gold heart to the edge of the window. I then flipped over the piece and created a foam tape well around the heart to fill with the sequins and shaker bits (CRYSTAL CLEAR FUSION and
MAJESTIC FUSION SEQUINS). Then cut another piece of acetate to lock in all my shaker pieces. Next, I added foam tape to the backside of the shaker panel, removed the protective backing from the foam tape and lined it up to the opening of the card base and glued it in place using the heart window to make sure it all lined up properly. 

I then stamped out the stars from the STAR DATE set and embossed them in gold embossing powder and die cute them with the coordinating STAR DATE Dies. I then stamped in their little faces and colored them in using Zig markers and also added glossy accents details for a little shine. For fun and even more shine, I added the IRIDESCENT BUBBLES to the front of the card.

On the inside of the card, right where the window opens I blended out the sun rays using the UNDERWATER SUN RAYS stencil and then just used some masking tape to blend out the sand and the ocean. Lastly, I stamped out the save the date sentiment.

Mandala Gatefold Wedding Wishes Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Monday friends, hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

With wedding season starting soon, I thought I would share with you how I made this gorgeous gatefold Wedding card using some new products from the Happy BEE day release.

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I created a gatefold card base by cutting the cardstock paper to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Scoring and folding at 2 1/8 and 6 1/4 inches. 

I then die cut both pieces of the Mandala Honey Cuts and also kept the center negative die cut. For paper, I used a pale gold heavyweight cardstock from an old paper pad I had. I then adhered the large Mandela die to a piece of vellum I had cut using the largest Double Stitched Circle Cuts and then sliced the two pieces right down the middle and glued them on to the card front panels, trimming off any pieces that hung over the side edges of the card.

On the right flap of the gatefold, I glued the centerpieces that I had left over from the Mandela Dies.

I then create a simple band to slide and hold the card together, using some vellum and white ribbon and the adding the Wishes Script die from the Wish Honey Cuts set that I die cut using the same pale gold cardstock.

On the inside, I thought it would be fun to finish off the wishes sentiment with a rhyme to the bride and groom using the Mr. and Mrs. Stamp set. "Wishes, hugs and kisses, to the new Mr and Mr.s"

I Heart Coffee | Spring and Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop | Studio Katia

Are you a coffee lover? Well, I am but I do have a love/hate relationship with it. If I could I would drink more of it, but sadly I have to limit my intake as I'm too sensitive to caffeine and become an insomniac. So one cup early in the day is all I can handle. Sometimes if I want more, I will drink a decaffeinated coffee, but it's just not the same LOL!

CARD DETAILS

For my card today, I knew I wanted to use the SHAKER HEART so I began by die cutting 5 of these hearts out of red cardstock. This SHAKER HEART die is so awesome as it cuts out 3 different hearts using this one die (I kept all the other die-cuts for future use).  I then glued and stacked all of the center hearts together and glued it on to one of the bottom layers from which I kept the negative pieces.  And, that was pretty much all I did for the heart.  

I then had the idea to use the heart as the "love" symbol for my card so I could create an I 💗(heart) Coffee card. The coffee cup I used comes from the SWEET LATTE and coordinating DIES sets, which I colored in Copic markers and added the I to it (just in case the coffee cup itself wasn't self-explanatory). To the SCRIPT COFFEE DIE, I stacked 3 layers and added Glossy Accents to the top. And, to embellish the card front I used a few ONYX CRYSTALS.

It's difficult to see from my photos the gorgeous texture on the card. I used the SQUARE BRICK Stencil to do some dry embossing to the card panel. Before I added the embossing, I die-cut the panel out first to add the dotted stitching to the border using the large frame from the DARLING RIBBON and FRAMES DIES.

I left the inside of the card blank for now, but I think it would be a great card to send as a thank you card for a coffee lover and maybe include a gift card to their favorite coffee shop. I hope this card has inspired you today or made you thirsty for that next cup of Java.
