Snowmie Holiday Cards | Tonic Studios Stamp Club Release Hop

Hello Friends, and Happy Friday! 

It is time for another Tonic Stamp Club Release Blog Hop and this time is all about the cutest Snowmies!!! Perfect for the upcoming winter and Holiday Season!

If you have already joined the hop you should have arrived from Iliana's Blog.  I will link the complete hop list and giveaway details near the end of this post. I have 3 projects to share today so let's get started.

Here is a closer look at this month's Snowmie Stamp and Die Bundle. Plus this month you get a FREE coordinating Snowmie Stencil with your purchase!

Both my cards today are Mini Slimline sized 3x6 inches. This first one features the adorable Rainbow-inspired Snowmie Family sending warm Holiday Wishes.

To make this card I began by stamping out the images, coloring them in with Copic markers, and then die-cutting them out with the coordinating dies. The rainbow dotted tree was inspired by my friend Bobbi, who is an amazing colorist and I thought this was a fun and unique way to add color to the tree. 

I then blended onto a mini slimline panel Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Inks and then spritzed the background with water and picked up the droplets with a paper towel to lift some of the ink. This just adds to the snowy effect. 

Another thing I did was to create a Snow Bokeh stencil by using 3 circle dies from the Slimline Envelope Creator Die Set, and blended white pigment ink over the top part of the panel. Slightly overlapping the circles to create the bokeh effect. Look closely at the sky part for them they are faint but there for extra detail. 

To the background, I applied a layer of falling snow using Worn Linen Expanding Mousse.

The sentiment was stamped in white pigment ink and embossed in white onto black cardstock. Then the rest was to glue all the elements in place. The snowflakes come from the die set. The really fun thing about these die sets is that they come with so many extra dies to stretch out the possibilities!

My favorite part of carmaking is adding embellishments and finishing details. The crystals on the snowflake centers, the white gel pen details, the glossy accents on the nose and buttons, and the chunky glitter on the tree along the bottom of the card. Yes adding these take a little more time but they are what makes your card stand out!

I am in love with this next rainbow-inspired cutie! What is it about rainbows that just make you happy?! I can't explain it but whatever it is I know it is why I do it! Rainbows bring me joy and it is why it is my favorite color!

This next mini slimline was done exactly the same as the previous card only in a vertical layout. Obviously, the images are different but the techniques were the same. To this sky, I added Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink along the top and I left the bottom white to give it the snow illusion. 

 

This time, rather than using snowflake die-cuts I stamped them in white onto the background. 

The bottom sentiment snow hill panel I added was a happy mistake. I actually stamped a different sentiment underneath on the card panel which wasn't the stamp I had wanted to use. So to cover it up I created a hill for the sled to sit on and added the new sentiment instead.  

Did you notice the mini slimline envelope I placed under each of the cards? They come with the two pierced plate designs and fit these cards perfectly as they measure 3.5x6.5 inches. These envelopes are part of the new also just released Slimline Envelope Creator Die Set. They also come with a bunch of tag builder dies. So I thought it would be fun to make a bunch of Christmas rainbow gift tags. 

If you look closely each tag was either finished using the coordinating Snowmie Stencil or I used the pierced plates from the Slimline Envelope Creator Die Set to add details. I also added the For You and the snowflakes that were die cut using holographic cardstock. Under each colored tag is another white tag with a pierced edging so that you can write who the gift is for.

This may be my favorite Stamp Club Release designed by Maria Willis for Tonic Studios! Love all the possibilities for both Winter and Holiday cards. Snowmen images are my favorite. Sunshine & Sunflowers Friend Ship Cards | Tonic Studios Stamp Club Release

It's the last Friday of the month and you know what that means, it's time for another Tonic Stamp Club Release!

Welcome to the June 2021 Tonic Studios Sunshine & Sunflowers June 2021 Release. If you have already joined the hop you have finally made it to the last stop and should have arrived from Jen's Blog.  I will link the complete hop list and giveaway details near the end of this post, so stay tuned for those just getting started! 

Sunflowers are some of my favorites, and I was excited to see them on this release. Let's take a look at this versatile Sunshine & Sunflowers Set US | UK. 

• STAMPS: Large, beautiful sunflower stamps with lovely sentiments.
• DIES: Coordinate with the stamps AND also include paper-layering sunflower builder dies.
• Use the flower builder dies with colored cardstock and/or paper you've colored or ink blended.

I love how these sets come in high-quality plastic sleeves, that are compatible to work with A5 ring binders. How cool is that!? They come in an Orange US|UK or Blue binder US|UK.

So let's get started on the 3 cards I have made for inspiration today.

CARD RECIPE#1

• Blend out the background using pink, yellow, and blue ink overlapping each color to produce the rainbow blend.
• Die-cut the pieces for the sunflower using the dies from the Sunshine & Sunflowers die set using white cardstock.
• Piece the fower together, adding foam in between the layers.
• For the leaves use vellum.

• To the center of the flower, I added some chunky glitter.
• Glue sunflower to the center of the blended area.
• Add the stem.
• Stamp the sentiment from the Sunshine & Sunflowers set along the stem.
• Trim the panel and attach it to the card base, using foam in between.
• Finish with an iridescent bubble.

 

CARD RECIPE#2

• Die-cut all the pieces for 3 sunflowers using the dies from the Sunshine & Sunflowers set.
• Color each sunflower by blending out 3 different inks. 
• Piece together each flower head using foam in between to add dimension.
• Blend out the leaves and stems.

• Glue elements to the card front. 
• Stamp out the sentiment.
• Trim the panel and attach it to the card base.
• Add chunky glitter to the centers of the flowers.

CARD RECIPE#3

• Stamp out the sunflower using a no-line ink.
• Color using Copic markers, and details using Prismacolor pencils.
• For the background, I used shimmer powder on watercolor paper.
• Trim the background to fit the Mini Slimline card.

• Glue the flower pieces onto the background.
• Stamp the sentiment along the stem.

• To the ladybug add glossy accents.
• Add chunky Glitter to the center of the flower.
