I'm back today to share with you a sympathy card I made for my Sisters' friend, who recently lost her mother. Usually I like to make happy cards, so I find sympathy cards challenging to make. I wanted to make it clean and simple card and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think I will have to make a few more like it to have on hand.
To create the impression on the heart I taped the staked heart dies together and sandwiched the cardstock between the dies and an embossing pad. Doing this just presses the dies into the paper without cutting them leaving this beautiful impression on the cardstock. The I removed the center heart dies leaving only the large die ran that as I normally would to create a die cut.
For the Hugs die, I cut out 3 layers stacked and glued them together. I then used my versamark ink pad and added two layers of silver embossing powder and heat set them. The sentiment strip was created by combining a couple of sentiments from the Essential Sentiment Stamp Set. Not pictured here but the inside was finished with the "with sympathy" stamp.
