Slimline Easter Gladiolus Shaker Card | Studio Katia

Hello dear friends, 

Hope you are having a wonderful week. Have you started on your Easter Cards yet? Like everything else, Easter will be here before you know it! This card was inspired by the new Gladiolus Set from Studio Katia because it made me think of Easter as soon as I saw it.

CARD RECIPE

• I began by stamping the Gladiolus a few times using watermark ink and then heat embossing it with gold Emb. pwd. onto watercolor paper.
• I then colored the images using Karin BrushMarker Pro. and die-cut them using the coordinating die and set the images aside.

• I then die-cut a slimline panel using the frame from the Mini Slimline Small Hearts Cover.
• Next, I die-cut the cross from the top half of the panel. I also die-cut the same cross using gold foil paper.
• To the back of the panel, I glued a piece of acetate and added foam to the edges to create the shaker window. I then added the shaker bits to the well and closed the window with another panel. To the front of the shaker window, I then glued the inside of the gold cross.

• Next, I die-cut the Script Easter Die 3 times, stacked them, and glued them together. To the top, I added a layer of glue and sprinkled Sparkle Glitter for shine.
• I then stamped the blessings from the Floral Cross and heat embossed it and die cut it using one of the banners from the Peony Trimmings Dies.
• To finish off the card I added a few scattered Sugar Glitz Discs for a little more sparkle.

I absolutely love how this card came together and hope it has inspired you to start on your Easter or Spring Cards. I think this would also make a beautiful sympathy card.

Thankful Pansy Love Friendship Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Monday my friends.

I am back again today with another floral card, this time featuring more goodies from the Happy Hearts Release from Honey Bee Stamps. This card could be used for Valentine's day, but I also think its perfect to send a friend.

CARD RECIPE

• I began by ink-blending the background using the Hearts in Bloom Stencils.
• I then die cut one of the Opulent Layering Frames in white cardstock and then glued a blank white piece beneath it to stamp my sentiment on it that comes from the Friendship Frame Stamp.

• I then popped that onto the center of the stenciled background with foam dots.
• Next, I die cut the pieces for the Lovely Layers Pansy and added colored by ink blending the pieces, and then assembled the flower. I added dimension by curling the top petals and using foam. To the center of the flower were in embossed lines are, I used a yellow prismacolor pencil with a sharpened tip.

• To finish the card, I added some of the gems from the Happy Hearts Gem Stickers set.

Rainbow Gladiolus Bouquet Card | Studio Katia | New Release

Hello friends and Happy Sunday!

Today Studio Katia is introducing their latest member to their Mini Slimline Collection. This month it is this beautiful Gladiolus Stamp and Coordinating Die.

Realistically coloring my Gladiolus in rainbow colors doesn't make any sense, but hey I am applying artistic freedom here 😉 Make sure to click the link to the Studio Katia Blog for more inspiration from the Design Team and enter the release giveaway.

CARD RECIPE

Making this card was pretty simple, the hardest part was masking, and even with that it was fairly easy!

• Start by stamping the Gladiolus Stamp in the center of the panel using Copic-friendly ink.
• Using the coordinating Die, die-cut masking paper. You could also fussy cut the stamped image but this is the lazy way for those that don't like fussy cutting like me!
• Shift the edge of the masking paper to line up with the stamped image. If you see the stamped line that is perfect as it will overlap the next stamped image connecting the previous stamped lines.
• Reposition the stamp and repeat stamping the Gladious Stamp to each side of the first stamped image. Reposition the masking before stamping a new area.
• Remove masking.
• Draw in lines if any weren't connected using a Copic-friendly pen, I also extended the stems.
• Color in the Gladiolus using Copic Markers.

• Add the die-cut frame from the Darling Ribbons and Frames to frame the colored panel.
• Using white pigment ink, stamp and heat emboss the sentiment from the Gladioulus Stamp set.
• Die cut the sentiment using a Die from the Peony Trimmings Set, and add foam to pop it up, trim any excess.

• Finish by gluing on some coordinating colored pearls. These came from the Satin Pearls Mix.
• For extra highlights and details use a white gel pen.
