Spring Inspired Friendship Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello my friends! 

I have never in my life have been so anxious for Spring to arrive. We have never had temperatures this cold for so long, and that is saying a lot since I am Canadian and am used to having Winter for 6 months of the year, lol! The only good thing about it being so cold is that I find myself in the craft room a lot more making pretty things. 

So for today's card, I have made a Spring inspired card featuring the Birds and the Bees and the Friendship Stamp sets from Honey Bee Stamps.

CARD DETAILS

To begin this card I stamped out the images I wanted to use from the Birds and the Bees set onto a piece of Bristol paper. I then colored the images in using Zig Clean color markers.  Once they were dry I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out.

For the background, I blended out broken china onto the top half of the card front and then die cut the panel using the largest Deckle Edge Die Frame. I then stamped out the sentiment from the Friendship stamp set on the bottom half of the panel using Picked Raspberry distress oxide ink and then used clear embossing powder to heat set the ink.

Next, I planned out the scene with my pieces and once I was happy I glued them down in place popping up some of the images to add depth and dimension. For a decorative detail, I used some twine in coordinating colors to make it look like the birdhouse was suspended and tied on to the branch.

As finishing details I added some shimmer to the flowers, white and gold pen details as well as glossy accents.

Japanese Peony Slimline Birthday Card | Studio Katia

Hello dear friends and Happy Monday! 

I am on the Studio Katia Blog today showcasing one of my favorite stamps from Studio Katia, the Japanese Peony Stamp and Coordinating Dies. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and I can't wait to see them bloom again in my garden in the Spring.

CARD DETAILS

To begin I stamped out two flowers onto watercolor paper and then painted them in using Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. Once they were once they were dry I diecut each flower and a few extra leaves with the coordinating dies and set them aside to work on the rest of the card front. 

To create a lattice like background for the flowers I cut a piece of paper that measured 4.25x 8.5 inches and then used the Halftone Dots Cover Die to die cut the panel, running it twice through the machine to create a larger panel. Before adhering the background layer to the card front, I blended out some Broken China distress oxide ink onto the card front and then glued down the lattice-like background.

To finish off the card, I glued the bottom peony onto the background and popped up the yellow peony with foam tape. The sentiment I used comes from the Birthday Greeting set and the Friend word die comes from the Spring Bouquet Die set. To add some shiny details I used glossy accents and added a few iridescent bubbles along the card front.
