Happy 2023 New Years Interactive Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello friends. To those of you that celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Before you know it it will be 2023😮 So for today's card, I thought it would be fun to make a simple yet interactive card. Difficult to tell from these photos but the Balloons are suspended by a thread that allows them to wiggle around.

CARD RECIPE

• To begin I chose the background. This pattern paper panel came from the latest Free Bee from Honey Bee stamps if you made a purchase over $75.
• I then die cut, stacked, and glued the Happy die cuts from the Happy Happy Happy A2 Cover Plate.
• Next, I die-cut the balloons from copper-colored glitter paper using the Balloon Number Dies.
• With a piercing tool, I poked a hole at the top of where the balloons would be on the pattern piece of paper.
• To the back of the balloons, I added a foiled thread. To hide the hole that the thread would be going through, I die-cut another layer of the balloons and snipped the top off so that the thread end would not be seen from the top.
• Thread the top of the string through the holes and secure them behind the panel using tape.
• Next, line up the happy and glue it in place. I used the cover plate die cut to help with the alignment. Behind the letters secure the other end of the thread, leaving enough slack for some movement.
• I thought the white letters looked a bit stark at this time so I added some glue dots to the bottoms of the letters using a glue pen, then sprinkled on some coordinating embossing powder and heat set it. I should have done this before I glued them down as I almost melted the strings!
• I then finished the front by adding some gems in a coordinating color from the Grain Grunge Gems sticker set.
• To finish I trimmed the panel and added it to another panel using the same glitter paper to create a border for the card.

Christmas Skates Slimline Shaker | Studio Katia

Hello friends, and happy Wednesday!

Today's Slimline Shaker features the new Christmas Floral Skates from Studio Katia. This super cute set is part of the Slimline Release Collection and a great addition for making your Winter and Holiday Cards.

CARD RECIPE

• To begin I stamped out the skates and then colored the image using Copic Markers. I also stamped another set of flowers to cut out and layer for extra dimension. 
• Die cut the Christmas Skates using the coordinating die, and then glue the fussy-cut poinsettias onto the skates using foam tape.

• For the background, I ink-blended the slimline panel with pink ink and then added a layer of ink using the Snowy Magic Stencil.
• To the bottom of the panel, I added the stamped sentiment.
• I then put the Slimline Shaker Pocket together and filled the pocket with all the shaker bits. 
• The Mini Slimline Shaker Pocket was then glued onto a larger Mini Slimline Card base 3.5"x6.5" inches.
• I then glued the Skates to the front of the pocket.

• For finishing touches, I added Sparkle Glitter to the centers, white and gold gel pen details, and added Satin Ruby Pearls to the front of the shaker.

3D Embossed Rainbow Tree Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello dear friends and happy Monday!

Some of you have noticed I haven't been as active recently, and this is true. I have been dealing with some visual changes that are affecting my eye, in particular the left cornea. The vision in my left eye is very limited and blurry that even a corrective lens cannot fix it. I am currently trialing a few medications to see if they will help as this is autoimmune-related, but sadly, I don't think the damage is reversible. Because of this, I have been trying my best to avoid straining my eyes as much as possible, to preserve the vision I have left especially in the affected eye. Since my right eye is dominant, I can still see perfectly with it and only notice that my vision is really bad if I close my right eye or if I'm tired and I overdo it. When it is really bad I develop double vision or get bad headaches. Being on the phone is the hardest and that is why I haven't been as active. Unfortunately, I have had to slow down my cardmaking commitments, but I am not ready to give it up crafting just yet. I love creating and I am so thankful for all the opportunities this community has given me that have brought me so much joy over the years. I hope you still will stick with me and continue to follow my creative journey even if it is at a slower pace.

Now, let's get on with today's card. You all know my favorite color is rainbow so I thought it would be fun to make Grandma's Christmas Tree in rainbow colors and just like the card sentiment, I still believe in Christmas miracles😉

CARD RECIPE

• I started by ink-blending the Christmas Tree using the 3D Christmas Tree Stencils and 3 colors of ink. Pink, yellow and blue. (See supplies linked below).
• Once the tree was blended out, I die cut the tree first with the outline die from Grandma's Christmas Tree Dies, and then the die to cut out the decoration slits on the tree. 
• Next, I embossed the tree using Grandma's Christmas Tree 3D Embossing Folder.
• I then lined up one of the stencils and added the glitter layer using glimmer paste.
• Once it was dry I added the white glitter bulbs to the tree as well as the rainbow pearls.

• For the background, I used the Nordic Winter Background Stencils blended using the same inks. 
• I then layered over it another layer of vellum that I embossed using the Kaleidoscope 3D Embossing Folder.
• I trimmed the layers and added them both to the bottom layer that I die-cut using the Scallop A2 Frame Dies.
• Next, I popped some foam dots on the back of the tree and glued it to the background panel.

• The sentiment comes from the new Foil Script Holiday and Dies that I first foiled using Speckled Prism Glimmer Foil and then die-cut with the coordinating die, stacking a few layers together and then gluing onto the tree.
• To finish the tree I added an iridescent star to the topper.

I hope you enjoyed today's 3D Embossed Rainbow Tree Card. It reminds me of the tree we had growing up with the rainbow-colored lights.
