Crafty Day Occasion Inspiration Cards | Spellbinders | GOM August 2020

Hello, crafty friends, and happy Saturday!

Today I have three cards to share with you today using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month for August 2020 "Have a Crafty Day" Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

  CARD DETAILS

As usual, I began by heating up the GLIMMER HOT FOIL SYSTEM PLATFORM and then running the Crafty Day Pattern Plate to add the images to all of the backgrounds for my cards. I used the AURA Glimmer Foil and pressed the images into the cardstock using the PLATINUM 6 DIE CUTTING PLATFORM. Each time placing the plate in different parts of the card panels.

For this first card, I blended rainbow colors along the edge and then Foiled the Sentiment onto a black piece of cardstock. 

I then trimmed the black piece to make a square and popped up using foam tape. To finish this card I just added a few rainbow-colored pearls along the colored edge.

For this Crafty Birthday Card, as you can see I used the Crafty Day Pattern Plate to add the images to the entire panel. I then die cut a few rectangles using frames from the RECTANGLE ETCHED DIES to add the sentiment in the center of the card. Here again, I used the AURA Glimmer Foil and then blended over the sentiment. In hindsight, I would have blended the rainbow background first and then foiled to avoid dulling the shine of the foil.

Next, I glued all the panels on to the card base and popped up the center panels using foam tape. Once again finishing off the card with some rainbow-colored pearls.

For this last Crafty Friend card, I did the background the same way as before using the AURA Glimmer Foil. For the sentiment, however, I used BLACK GLIMMER FOIL to foil.

I then used a stencil to blend out my rainbow splashes onto the background and again finished it off with the rainbow-colored pearls.

Hello BeYOUtiful Friendship Card | Ink On 3

Hello, my BeYOUtiful Friends!

Today I am back with a card that took me no time to make mainly because the background was super quick and easy to create and I am loving the results. It would be a great card to send a friend for a birthday or any other special occasion.

CARD DETAILS

I began by stamping out the large magnolia image from the new BEYOUTIFUL stamp set using JUICY INK onto a piece of Bristol paper. I then used GOLD RUSH EMB. PWD. to heat set the lines in.

I then used the ATELIER PAINT IT BLACK ink to paint in the flowers using a SMALL TIP WATER BRUSH PEN. I just dipped the tip of the brush onto the ink pad and began coloring where I thought a shadow would be, gradually pulling and blending the ink out. It is hard to see in the photos but this ink has some pink and green undertones that show up so beautifully on the card in real life. I could have added more layers of paint to give the petals more dimension but I was happy with the one layer which made this so much easier too.

Once the ink was dry I die cut the panel with a pierced frame and glued it onto the card base. Next, I die cut a pierced heart from vellum and then stamped and embossed the BeYOUtiful sentiment on to it. I then figured out where I was going to place the heart and stamped the "HELLO" right over where the center of the sentiment would be and then glued the heart in place and cut off the edge that hung over the card.

To finish off the card, I added some crystals and sequins for sparkle.

Flippin Fabulous Flip Flop Friendship Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!

Today I have a fun Flippin' Fabulous Flip Flop Friendship Card to share with you (try saying that 3 times fast, lol). I've had this idea in my head since I first saw the new FLIP FLOP BUILDER DIES. It was actually inspired by a photo I took a few years ago with some of my friends after we had all gone for a pedicure together. So I thought it would be fun to create the summer version of my photo, which could be used for so many occasions.

CARD DETAILS

The first thing I did was select the pattern papers I was going to use on for my flip flops which all came from the HOT TROPICS PAPER PAD. I then used the FLIP FLOP BUILDER DIES to die cut each set of flip flops. I also die cut the flip flops from 110bs white cardstock to add some reinforcement under the pattern pieces.

Once the shoes were assembled, I then created the background. I used the largest DOUBLE STITCHED SQUARE DIE to die cut a panel from kraft cardstock. Next, I used a BACKGROUND BLENDER BRUSH to add some Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink (DO) around the edges of the panel. I then used the SANDY SHORES stamp out the sand on the background this time using Vintage Photo DO ink.

To the back of each flip flop, I added some foam tape and glued them to the card panel. Anything that hung over the edge of the panel I snipped off with scissors.

The sentiments I used come from the FLIPPIN FABULOUS stamp set that I then die cut with the coordinating dies from the FLIPPIN FABULOUS DIE Set.

For an added touch of bling, I used matching gem stickers on each flip flop that comes from the HOT TROPICS Sticker set.
