Get Well Soon Surprise Slider Tea Card ft. Honey Bee Stamps

Hello my crafty Friends!

Today I have another fun interactive card to share with you, this one is pretty clean and simple.
I thought it would be fun to make a Get Well Soon Card by creating a Surprise Slider for the tea bag, cause who doesn't like a cup of Tea when they are feeling sick.

As you can see in the next picture the tea bag slides out of the mug by pulling up on the tag.  So fun!

To create the card was actually quite simple. 

I stamped the image of the mug on to my card panel, masking the existing tag that was on the stamp. I also stamped and die cut the rest of the images I was going to use and die cut them out with the coordinating dies. 

Next, I cut a straight slit across the top of the mug with a blade (wide enough for the tea bag to slide through the opening). I then pierced the top of the tea bag and threaded some bakers twine through the hole. Next, secured the string to the back of the bag with multi medium matte glue and taped it down. Also to the back of the tea bag I added and acetate strip to give the bag some length to allow for the up and down movement. Once the glued pieces of the sliding tea bag were all dry, I inserted the bag through the open slit on the mug. I then created a "stopper' by gluing a few pieces of paper horizontally to the bottom of the acetate piece (this was to prevent the bag from popping out of the slit). Then created the channel for the slider by using foam tape. 

I then added the border frame to the top panel, using foam tape to pop it up but leaving a gap for the pull tag to peak through. Once that was done I added the panel to the card base. I finished the card by stamping the sentiment and adding some finishing touches.

Welcome Little One Card - Flying Stork on a Sliding Track

Hello dear friends!

I finally got my Oh Baby Stamp set from Simon Says Stamp Best Days release. It is such a darling  sweet set and perfect for the new arrivals in life.

Here is the fun interactive Welcome Little One - Flying Stork on a Sliding Track card I made with some of the cute images from the set. Scroll through the first three photos to see the stork movement.

Adding a track to the card was quite simple and quick to do.
Once all my images were colored and cut out, I used a very small piece of paper that I added a score line to and then added one to the back of the stork and bag. Before gluing the pieces in place behind the images I ran a very thin clear thread and placed it in the scored groove I had made. Once the pieces were dry I wrapped the thread around the front panel of the card and secured the ends on to the back with tape. Make sure you do not get any adhesive on the thread as this will prevent the images  from sliding smoothly on the track. Next, popped up the panel onto the card front and added the remainder of the details to the card front. Speaking of details, the clouds were made with the polka dot stamp from the set. I used distress ink and stamped the dots to create the cloud shape. Check out the links below to see all the supplies I used in today's card.

Happy Purr-thday Interactive Card - Suspended Card Elements

Hello Friends!

Today I have a really cute interactive Purr-thday Card to share with you. 

I thought it would be fun to use the new Ink On 3 Phat Alphanumeric Stamps to create some bubble balloons and use one of the kitty images from the the Purr-ific Kitty set and suspend him from the balloon strings to make it look like he is floating away into the sky.

As you can see here below, he really does move around on the card.

To create the card was actually super simple.

For the background I wanted to keep it fairly clean and mostly white. All I did was mask a border around the edges with some masking tape and blended out some clouds with distress oxide inks.

I then stamped my images and colored them in using spectrum noir markers. To the letters since I wanted to make them look like balloons I added the little circle to the bottom. I them ran my finished images through the ScanNCut since I had altered the images and didn't have coordinating dies for them.

Once all the images were cut, I used a piercing tool and created some tiny holes through the kitty's claws. Next, I grabbed some white sewing thread and needle and fished the thread from the top of the kittens claws to behind him (leaving the thread long enough to attach to the letters) I repeated that until I had a thread to connect each letter. I then added a little glue to hold the strings in place behind the claws. Next, I stretched out the thread and attached the letters to the top of the strings placing them at different heights on the card panel. Once I was happy with the letter placement, I cut off the excess strings from the top of the letters.

To keep the kitten from flipping onto its front I poked a tiny hole behind the front panel just behind where he naturally suspends. I then attached a string to him with some glue and tape to hold it in place and fished the thread through the poked hole and secured it behind the panel. Make sure you leave the thread long enough to allow the kitten to move around the card.

I finished the card by adding glossy accents.
Love, love, love, how this card turned out and SO much fun to make!
